We spent three nights here while we visited Badlands National Park. There was plenty of room for our family during the stay. Staying at this hunting cabin during our vacation was very quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed seeing deer and other wildlife in the morning and evening each day.
The view off the porch was amazing. Very quite and relaxing . If you love the out doors with no neighbors, this is the perfect place. Very clean and comfortable.
We arrived at night and was greeted by a big 6x6 Bull Elk. The location was central to the bird hunting we were doing. It was a great hunting cabin that fit our needs. We had two dogs with us and they were comfortable after the long hunting days. The stars! On a cool clear night you can clearly see the Milky Way. Each morning you can have your coffee on the deck while you watch dozens of mile deer graze. The whole experience was peaceful and tranquil.
This was our first time staying here. We did a DIY public land sharptail grouse hunt for opening week. Overall the cabin was comfortable to stay in however some issues about the cleanliness is why I am only giving 4 stars. Immediately we noticed several bugs including several larger spiders in the main entry area leading up to some of the rooms in the main upper level. The laundry machines had what appeared to be older dirty laundry inside and there were more spiders, etc so we did not choose to use them. Ultimately we did not utilize the lower bunk room due to these pest issues therefore one person slept on the couch. We also did not utilize the blackstone grill on the deck as the griddle was extremely rusted and had crusty food deposits left on it. Overall our experience was not bad as we spent most of our days hunting and the location/views were spectacular, however we likely will look for other options for future hunts.

We are sorry your experience was not top notch. It is tough at this time of the year to control insects in all of the rooms. I apologize for missing to clean the grill between guests.
Location to Badlands and Wall is great! Lovely view out of the back deck. Open layout and rustic hunting theme for this upper barn stay. Theme isn’t the kids personal favorite but my husband enjoyed it. The pictures accurately reflect the property and more would be suggested. However, it wasn’t clear from reviews or reading that the one bedroom with: bunk bed and two bigger beds are together on the main level of the barn, but, you can tell from the ceiling in photos. You are out in the WIDE OPEN grasslands so mouse traps on the main level are logical and smart but vacation mode mindset doesn’t care for that. The main level felt more like a basement space and our girls were more comfortable sleeping on the couch upstairs both nights. Be weather aware as the last two roads to the house could be difficult to navigate in heavier snowfall. And as you are quite isolated, we only saw one car on the last 5miles over our time. The drive and roads were great on our trip. Specifically to the area, not a strike to the house, rattle snake warning signs are out at all the parks, trail heads, and house so be alert.WiFi was awesome! Lower marks for cleaning because of dog hair on the couch, shower needs a scrub with new liner, and items out: freezer food, clothing and personal items, in rental. Stocked items: towels, blankets, pillows, dishes, pans…plenty of space to cook and eat.
