On the Hornherred peninsula there are many child-friendly bathing beaches. Here is enough space for everyone to enjoy the outdoor life all year round, whether the sun is shining from the cloudless sky or the autumn storms are racing. For fishing enthusiasts, Vellerup Vig is a good body of water to catch pollack (dinghies are rented) and there are good opportunities to catch garfish on Roskilde Fjord at Crown Prince Frederiks Bro (remember to buy a fishing license). Frederikssund is a small cozy town with good shopping facilities. The town holds annual Viking Games, at the festive end of which you can join the table in Valhalla with good food and entertainment.
