For those that love the water, bring your boat to discover OBX via the community ramp just a half-mile away.

Perfect OBX Family Getaway!From the moment we walked in, our three boys fell in love with the pirate-themed home! The treasure map, hidden clues, chest, and treasures made the stay feel like a true adventure.The home was cozy, beautifully stocked, and had an amazing water view. We loved starting our mornings canoeing with the kids. The pool, tennis, and basketball courts were also perfect for the family.A special thank you to the wonderful neighbors, especially Mark, who made us feel so welcome and even took us out on his boat!We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to make this our yearly OBX tradition!

We enjoyed everything about this unique stay. We enjoyed the island, the community pool, the uniqueness of the house itself, and the great access to the canal and sound. We would love to come back. I don’t love having to do an actual checkin at the office that was further north - as I am used to vrbo - going straight to the house.

The house was so unique and fun. It was great for our family of 5 and dog. The neighbors were very nice. I wish it was a but closer to the beach but the community is as great and beach access was very easy to get to. We got locked out one night and within 25 mins we were back in so that was impressive. I would deff stay again! overall a great experience

We loved our stay at The Pirate House!! The house was quaint but exactly what we neeed. We loved that we were able to bring our dog. The view of the canal is lovely. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Very cute house and my 2 boys absolutely loved the pirate theme! Beautiful sound view and nice neighbors. Location was great for beach access without having to go too far. Suggestion- bring towels, and bathroom mat and kitchen drying towel. Other than that it was a perfect stay. My kids even cried before having to leave and keep asking to go back!

We loved the view on the water, and the kids enjoyed the theme of the cottage. It just wasn't very clean. The lamps, decorations, woodwork were all dusty. The rugs felt dirty and everything smelled musty. There was a very loud standing air condtioner in the main bedroom that was attached to a hose vent through a hole in the window right behind the bed. It was filfthy and loud making it hard to sleep at night. There were no towels when we arrived even though we had ordered and paid for them. No dish cloths in the kitchen or even pump hand soap in kitchen or bathroom. There was laundry detergent and paper towel which was nice. It all felt very sparse and cheap, not what we would expect for what we paid. We have stayed in a lot of rentals and this had the bare minimum, like they did not care about an excellent guest experience.

Cleanliness and providing a comfortable experience are very important to us, and we take these concerns seriously. We did reach out to you during your stay to check in and make sure everything was going well, and at that time no concerns regarding cleanliness, odors, the air conditioner, or missing supplies were brought to our attention. Had we known about these issues, we would have made every effort to address them promptly while you were there. We also apologize for the inconvenience regarding the towels and missing kitchen and bathroom supplies. Those are certainly things that should have been in place for your arrival, and we will be working with our towel supplier and our turnover team to ensure this does not happen in the future. We appreciate your positive comments about the location and the pirate theme. We’ll use the rest of your feedback to continue improving our guest experience.

Perfect Sunsets on the Dock

The first week of our summer vacation was on the beach in Avon. The second week was here in Colington. It was exactly what we needed - just relaxing. Canoed to the pool a few times. Looked forward to the sunsets every night. Hope to be back.

We've always been drawn to the coast and we were lucky enough to get the amazing opportunity to have this property in Kill Devil Hills. What we love the most about The Pirate House OBX is it's nestled in a quiet peaceful relaxing area but still close enough to all the activities the Outer Banks has to offer.

This is not a cookie cutter traditional square beach cottage. Built in the 1970's the Pirate House OBX is one of the original A frame cottages built in the Colington Harbour area. It's angular design and quirky pirate themed décor provides you and your group with a truly unique vacation experience
