About this property

Charming, historic, Creekside Cabin nestled at the base of Pikes Peak in Cascade

2-bedroom Cabin and studio Guest House on the beautiful bubbling Cascade Creek.

Built in 1925, situated on Cascade Creek, the ever-present, soothing sound of the creek puts you to sleep and wakes you each morning. The curved moss rock front porch overlooks the creek and is great for morning coffee, reading, or evening cocktails.

The cabin comfortably sleeps 4 and the guest house 2

On the main floor is the master bedroom with a queen Serta Posturepedic mattress, charming bathroom with a vintage claw foot tub/hand shower with fluffy robes and slippers.

There is an eat-in kitchen with banquette seating overlooking a beautiful moss rock wall through large viewing windows, where chipmunks love to help themselves to birdseed or other treats. There is a lighted patio out back for grilling and a stone patio with a table and chairs down by the creek.

Upstairs there is a bedroom with two twin beds, new nightstands/lamps, children's books/toys and bathroom with a newly tiled shower. For those of you with really little ones, we have a new "Pack-in-Play" with removable mattress for your convenience.

The Guest House is available and it's just a few steps away from the Cabin and sleeps two. It has a newer queen bed, vintage dresser and new nightstands and new touch lamps with USB ports. The bath area has a free-standing shower, shelving and hanging storage, comfortable robes and slippers for your enjoyment, a small refrigerator and microwave.

Creekside Cabin is in a quiet private residential neighborhood surrounded by forest, hiking trails, park with playground equipment; easy access to the highway leading to Manitou Springs/Colorado Springs to the East and Woodland Park/Cripple Creek to the West, as well as the Pikes Peak Toll Road.

*There is a strict "NO SMOKING" policy of any kind on the property of the cabin or guest house. Covid-19 cleaning procedures are in effect. High touch areas are disinfected using CDC approved products and cleaning guidelines; the Cabin is "aired out" between guests. Linens are removed from facility and new linens supplied between guests.

All Linens are professionally washed at "Laundry Time" laundromat in Colorado Springs using "Ozone-Active Oxygen" CDC approved Sanitation. They are the only laundry service in the state of Colorado using this application.

Activities in the neighborhood.

*A short walk up the road behind the house takes you to invigorating (3-4 Boot rated) hike Heizer trail up Cascade Mountain.
Across the highway a more moderate trail (2 Boot rated) hike takes you to Pyramid Mt. overlooking Ute Pass with views of Pikes Peak.

*The Wines of Colorado restaurant is within walking distance of the cabin
*Wine Tasting at “Wines of Colorado”

Amazing cabin - best vacation ever
5 minutes after checking in, I thought this might be one of the best VRBOs we had ever stayed in which is saying a lot because we’ve been pretty happy with most of our rental houses and condos. By the end of the trip, I was absolutely convinced that this was by far the best. The space was perfect for our family of five plus my brother. It was clean, adorably decorated, and the little touches like the basket of snacks and the cozy robes were so nice. We had everything we needed and more. It’s not a huge house but somehow it’s so well thought out that we had no problem finding spaces to put our things and feel really comfortable…no need to live out of the suitcase. The location is beautiful…sitting on the spacious front porch and watching the creek was so relaxing. You can walk to a restaurant which has wine tasting and also a really nifty “rock shop” that had fun little things for everyone. There’s also some great hiking that my husband and brother tried out, right from the cabin. We were just a few minutes drive from the Cog Railway and the North Pole amusement park. It was not too far from the amazing zoo in Colorado Springs too. The hosts live next door and they came over to welcome us…they were so incredibly nice and friendly and we loved talking with them. We have more things we would like to do in Colorado Springs in the future (that whole area has so much to offer) and I can totally see us coming back to stay at this cabin!

Cabin Feel
I wanted rhe grandkids to have an "authentic cabin in the mountains" experience and they got it. This cabin was very quaint and historic yet had all the modern ammenities we needed. And...the flowing creek out front was a special bonus!! The hosts made sure we had all that we needed...hoping to be back some day!

We have lived in Cascade, Colorado for the last 32 years on Cascade Creek and our residence is adjacent to Creekside Cabin and the guest house. Our friends, Wayne & Gay Hasle were the previous hosts and decided to sell this picturesque property in the winter of 2021. When we heard that , we jumped at the opportunity to be the next caretakers of this historic beautiful cabin and guest house. We still love having morning coffee on the front porch overlooking Cascade creek...doesn't get any better than that.
Michael is a native of beautiful Colorado Springs and I am a transplant from the friendly state of Iowa.
