Rio Cangrejal Lodge is your exclusive home away from home on the incredible Rio Cangrejal in the Honduran Jungle. Rio Cangrejal Lodge is a large two story home nestled on the banks of the river in the Pico Bonito National Park. The first story is a studio with ensuite bath, two queen beds and large comfortable sitting area and kitchenette. There is a covered patio outside with table and chairs and a fabulous view of the river and cloud forest. The second story has a large protected deck connected to the master bedroom and the living area. The master has a queen bed and the second bedroom has 2 singles. The kitchen is large and has a full sized gas stove and a big fridge. The bathroom has a shower as well as a bidet and toilet in a different area. The living/dining area has plenty of room for all and in front is the huge deck with views of the waterfall, the river and Jungle.
Pico Bonito National Park is home to many different animals and exotic birds making the area perfect for Birding. Across the river we have a spectacular view of the largest waterfall on the river, Cascada El Bejuco. Want to change from civilization to raw nature? Just a half mile up the road from your Villa, you can cross the bridge over the river and be in a very different environment. Welcome to the Pico Bonito Cloud Forest and and its totally unique environment.

Built Villas Pico Bonito on the best piece of property on the River Cangrejal near La Ceiba Honduras. Originally built as a retirement home it is now available for the rest of the world to enjoy my hidden paradise in the biggest National Park in Honduras. The huge pool was a difficult project but it turned out to be the best infinity pool in La Ceiba! Wonderful views of the river and cloud forest with its waterfall, El Bejuco. Built a small grill and bar area, just for fun so you can eat and drink there if you wish. The river changes depending on rain fall. In my photo you can see it in full flood. An awesome sight!
Why they chose this property
The Lodge is absolutely gorgeous and has a stunning view of the River, the Jungle and the cloud forest. I located it here because it is close to the city but far enough away to be in another world. You can sit on the balcony and watch the rafters come down the river. Any minute the variety of birds change. You can see Mot Mots digging their nests in the bank of the stream that runs through the property or see the Oropendolas build their hanging nests in the trees. Just so many beautiful things surround you here in our little romantic paradise.

We are just minutes from many hiking trails, white water rafting and zip lines in the Pico Bonito National Park. The Park is home to many different animals and exotic birds and is accessible by bridge just a short walk from the resort.
Walk along paths surrounded by heliconias, gingers, hibiscus, bourgainvillia and many other beautiful native plants and trees. Rest on the many seats placed specifically for birding.
Sun and swim in the river or relax around the most beautiful infinity pool in all of Honduras. Visit our Hidden Paradise Bar and Grill for good wholesome grilled foods and drinks.
We have wireless internet, a Beach Volley Ball Court, Badminton, Horseshoes etc. for your entertainment.
