About The Owner

As a child this beautiful Maine home was owned by my grandparents. Grandpa built a separate unit, which is now what we refer to as our bungalow, so that all of his grandchildren and their families could enjoy the vacation home and he and Grandma could still keep their sanity! Growing up in this house made it a part of me, the sights and smells of the ocean, and the memories attached to them. So, in 2008, when the second generation needed to sell it, my husband and I bought it in order to maintain the family traditions.

The grandchildren are all grown now, some with grandchildren of their own but the traditions will carry on. We hope you can make some memories too, and enjoy this beautiful spot just as we do.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2008

Amazing location!!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this little cottage during Bowdoin College's graduation week, and it was just perfect for us. It reminded us of being on a little ship, and the views from the small living room enhanced that feeling with views out to the water. There's a beautiful sitting area outside, and the gardens were gorgeous. Such a cute, darling place. During my daughter's 4 years at Bowdoin we've rented a lot of VRBO's on the outerbanks, and this one was one of the best! ( However, If you're super tall people, the small cottage has low ceilings, but for us it was perfect.) It was especially nice to have a well equipped kitchen. Ms. Margaret the owner, couldn't have been sweeter too. This little cottage made graduation week even better! A stone's throw is a small land trust trail that leads out to the very end of this spit of land, so fantastic to see the tides come in and out. Thank you Ms. Margaret, it was a great stay, and we were "almost" sorry to leave, but we were heading out to Hawaii, so that took the sting out of leaving your wonderful little piece of paradise.

Absolutely stunning location, some cleanliness improvements needed

  • 4 of 5

The location of the cottage is absolutely perfect! Right at the ocean, the view is stunning at every time of the day. Inside the cottage is a little bit smaller/narrower than I expected from the images, but everything is just as described. Tall people be careful, the ceilings are low and the doors sometimes quite narrow. The kitchen has all essentials, nothing fancy, but a functional coffee machine. The bedroom is designed extremely lovely and the storage area is perfect. Addionally, we used the second room as a bedroom, most gorgeous view on the bay you'd image when you wake up in the morning. The bathroom is very narrow and would profit from some renovations (especially in the shower). The only real downside is the cleanliness: the first impression was good, but upon closer looks there were multiple areas that weren't cleaned in a while. There were bredcrumbs on the cutting board and toaster oven when we arrived, spider webs in the corners, a foreign brush left on the couch, short and long black hair in the corners and on the futon mattress, and so on...

Other than minor gripes and grimes, a clean apartment would make for a perfect get away.

Parents Weekend @ Bowdoin stay

  • 5 of 5

my family and I had a LOVELY stay at the cottage. Margaret was amazing in showing us the cottage and explaining everything to us. She made excellent suggestions about places to eat and places to visit. It was a bad weekend weather wise so the cottage made it very easy to stay indoors and just hang out as a family. We would definitely go back!

Quaint cottage with a beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I took a mini vacation and stayed here. The owner and her daughter were terrific about communicating throughout booking and arrival. Cottage is quaint and very clean! It sits right on the harbor edge, spent mornings on the sea wall drinking coffee😊򒠠Had a great time and relaxing! Would recommend!
