Wonderful city apartment with breath taking views over Florence.

The apartment, (70 square meter) is situated in the historical centre of Florence directly at the 'Piazza San Marco', one of the most beautiful historical public squares of the city. It is located at the 5th floor (without elevator) of an historical palace (XVIII century). The apartment, which has air condition is totally silent, from the balcony as well as from all windows you will enjoy a wonderful view over Florence and its monuments. From the kitchen (refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, oven and gas-cooker) you step on a nice roomy balcony where you can take breakfast while enjoying the wonderful view over San Marco Cathedral and the hills of Fiesole. The apartment has furthermore a large living/dining room with TV, two separate bedrooms (one with a comfortable double bed and a special view on the Dome of Florence) and a modern bathroom with shower. All main museums and monuments of Florence can be visited within walking distance.

How to reach us: By car: Highway 1 Bologna - Firenze, Exit Firenze Nord, direction 'centro', direction 'Piazza San Marco'. Parking 'Parterre' nearby at Piazza della Libertà.

By train: Florence main station (Santa Maria Novella) - 2 min with taxi or all buses with direction 'San Marco'.

By airplane: Take a taxi (15 -20 min) or take a bus (Narvetta, the tickets you get on the bus) until Florence main station (Santa Maria Novella), than take a bus with direction 'San Marco'.

Information to the surroundings: The apartment in Florence is located in one of the central squares of the city (Piazza San Marco) in the historic center of town.

This district Cosimo il Vecchio has left its mark. Within the walls of this area once the menagerie of the Medici family was staying. Today it is the student quarter, and during the semester, the Piazza San Marco is always populated by young people who are waiting for the start of their lectures and art classes. The Accademia di Belli Arti founded in 1563 is the oldest art academy in the world, dating back to Michelangelo.

Wonderful apartment to explore a beautiful city!

My husband, grown son & I stayed at Tiberio's apartment for two nights while we explored the beauty of Florence. Everything was as described & fit our needs perfectly. We loved enjoying morning coffee on the terrace & the view of the duomo from the master bedroom is incredible. Grazie mille! As the listing mentions, this apartment is up many flights of stairs. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with mobility concerns but it was great for us. (I earned my gelato by climbing them!)

Quaint spacious apartment in the heart of Florence

We had a great stay at Florence and glad we had this Vrbo close to many sites. We did know we had 5 floors of stairs to get to our room but wished the AC actually worked better in common living area. Worked great in bedroom. Wasnt too much of an issue since we were out most of day. Tiberio was kind, organized, and informative. We did have trouble with the wifi being spotty but we did okay. Overall, good spot to be near San Marco neighborhood, walking distance to dumo! We enjoyed our stay.

Amazing Views

We stayed for a week in Oct 23. We found the location perfect for food, attractions, and transportation. We especially enjoyed the view of the Doumo from the bedroom and the view of San Marco Square from the balcony. We had wine on it every night. The stairs are real but not an issue for us (we are early 61 & 57). Tiberio was excellent through the entire process.

Amazing stay

Couldn’t have asked for a better area to stay or a nicer view! The location is so central and walkable, but not overwhelmingly busy. We felt so lucky to have a place to stay with such amazing views of the city and mountains. Communication was great as well with our hosts.

Wonderful views

My husband & I had a very nice stay here. Apartment has lots of windows, high elevation so you get lots of fresh air which we loved. Great views from many of the windows, and a great host. I highly recommend staying here.

Best balcony in Firenze

Our family of 4 absolutely loved this place. The balcony was our highlight every night with the views, the entertainment from the piazza below and local beer and wine and snacks from the market around the corner. We walked to everything from here. Plus there is a fabulous bread shop and a cafe that had the best croissants, espressos, desserts and pizza right below as recommended by our host.

A wonderful retreat right on top of central Florence

Tiberio’s apartment offers a spacious retreat with amazing views of the Duomo and the mountains surrounding Florence—all a stone’s throw from the Duomo and in walking distance to all of the city’s offerings. The kitchen is well-appointed and includes all the basics and some extras necessary to cook (salt, pepper, sugar, flour, oil, vinegar, etc). Tiberio is a kind host, attentive to providing you an enjoyable stay. And the stairs, while certainly not suitable for someone with mobility issues, will make you feel less guilty for all the gelato you’ll consume! The view is most worthwhile. I hope to return again soon.

Nice Location and great views.

The apartment is located very central and everything of interest can be reached by walking. It is quite a few stairs to climb but u will be rewarded with some nice views over the city. There is shop and a decent restaurant downstairs and a bus stop if u want to venture further out. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

What a view!

This apartment makes you feel like you are a princess in Florence...with the views from all the windows and the balcony overlooking San Marco piazza, the incredibly comfortable beds, the well equipped kitchen. Perfectly suited to a family of 4 or nice and roomy for 2 people. wonderful location! P;-)

In the Heart of the Action

This property is perfectly situated on a major piazza, a half-block from the museum that houses the David, with a taxi stand out front and a selection of restaurants and gelato stands right next door. There is a supermarket about a block away. The outdoor rooftop patio has a view of the piazza and the hills to the north, while the bathroom and master bedroom have a view of the Duomo to the south. The owner speaks good English, and is very responsive to issues. When the WiFi cut out on one day, he came later the same day and fixed it. Why four stars instead of five? Be aware that you must climb 97 stairs to get to the unit. This is a lot harder than it sounds, especially in summer humid heat, and with luggage or groceries. Also, the water pressure was very low when we were there in the summer, which meant that the "on demand" water heater did not register the water flow - resulting in only cold water being available most of the time.

Delightful room with a view

The property was exactly what we needed for our Italian adventure. Florence was the last stop on our vacation and we really loved it. The bathroom was good size and was able to accommodate 3 adults. The bedrooms were also large and comfortable. And the view from the master.... incredible! We laughed about the stairs, but definitely not for anyone who can’t climb 4 flights. The view, the deck, and the property in general make up for the climb - in spades. We were able to make day trips to Fiesole one day and then to Pisa on another. Really great home base and could have actually done more, but wanted to explore the city where we were. Tiberio was a gracious and helpful host. Would stay here again when we come back to Florence. Amazing views & wonderful location

Absolutely loved the apartment. So convenient to everything downtown, the bus station & the train station. Tiberio and Gabriella were very welcoming and offered many suggestions for the local flavor. We will stay here again when we return to Florence.

Perfect location!

My family of 4 stayed here in July. The location was absolutely amazing! The rental was awesome, everything worked and was clean. The view off the balcony was great overlooking the square. Many eateries around this location so we never ate using the kitchen but it looked sufficiently stocked. Tiberio couldn't have been more gracious. Thank you again!!!

A calm bower above the city with quiet evenings and a stunning view of the Duomo.

I'll be to the point: This place was quite spacious, well-equipped, and utterly convenient with inspiring 5th-floor views from the front balcony and the bedroom windows, which faced into a quiet back area and the Duomo glowing in the night about 1 block south. Perfectly situated for most major sites but also buses to Fiesoli and elsewhere. I'm guessing that the place if so inexpensive for what it offers because you have to walk up to the 5th floor, which didn't matter to us; one gets used to it quickly too. Meanwhile, having a grocery store with diverse alcohol, restaurants, and a pharmacy nearby really made it easy. One night, we had drinks on the deck with friends, and then dinner for 8 at the extendable dining-room table; I can't say how lovely it was to be able to stock one's fridge and cook meals. And Tiberio was extremely accommodating (as our flights got changed, etc.).

Definitely enchanting

This cosy appartment towering over the city could not be praised too highly. Every room is well furnished and nicely arranged. The splendid view from the terrace upon San Marco and the north hills, as much as the glorious view from the main bedroom upon the Duomo, are worth walking up the five flights of stairs. The hosts are unquestionably exquisite. We would be definitely glad to come back another time.

Amazing Apartment in a Beautiful City

First off Tiberio was an excellent host and very easy to work with prior to our arrival as well as when we were there. The apartment is in a great location and close to everything in Florence. It is a quick 10 minute walk to the Duomo and The David is right next door. This place was perfect for a family of four and was our central base while we did day trips to Pisa, Luca, Sienna and Cinque Terre. Tiberio also recommended we visit Fiesole which is a great hilltop town that is a quick 25 minute bus ride from the apartment. The five stories of stairs is not an issue and we felt very safe staying here. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay and would stay here again if we get the chance to come back to Florence. Thank you again Tiberio for your hospitality during our stay.

Wonderful views

We really enjoyed our stay at Tiberio's apartment. We were very glad for the AC and the washer! The space was big enough for our family of 4. We used the kitchen to make breakfast, and that was quite handy. And the market is just around the corner and open every day! The location was excellent, close to all shops and sights. Though the stairs really make you think about going back for a break midday. It was very hot when we were there, and that made the stairs harder. Everything is in good order, and Tiberio explained everything when we arrived. A couple of minor minor things....The master bed is a bit squeaky. Just getting out of the bed makes a loud noise, so perhaps that should be looked at. Also the cabinet in the corner of the master room wobbles a bit. And the shower could use an extra scrub. Again, those are quite minor. Overall our stay was wonderful and I would stay at the apartment again if we get to return to Florence. Such a lovely city.

Perfect rental for our week in Florence!

I was booking another trip through VRBO and realized we never wrote a review for this wonderful apartment! It's a few months late, but the apartment and Tiberio and his wife deserve a great review. It was clean and comfortable, with amazing views--all just as pictured and described. We posted a Facebook picture of me eating gelato on the terrace and everyone said the background looked like a painting. It was perfect for morning coffee, watching the fog lift over the hills after a rain, and for eating gelato after a long day of seeing the sights. Our nightlight was the lighted duomo and tower. As for the five flights--my husband and I were almost 70, and we had no problem. We had to stop for a rest about half way up, but honestly, we were glad for the exercise! Tiberio and his wife were friendly and made sure all our questions were answered.

Perfect apartment for our stay in Florence!!!

The apartment was just perfect during our stay in Florence this past March. Tiberio was absolutely gracious host and came to meet us at near midnight after nightmare day of traveling from the states. We were delighted of the fantastic view of the Duomo from our Bedroom window. We were visiting our daughter at nearby Gonzaga in Florence and the school and Pensionne both were just a few blocks away. The apartment was immaculate and had all the amenities needed for our week long stay in Florence. It was so nice to spread out in the apartment after a long day trip and allowed us to have our daughter stay with us in the extra bedroom. Sitting out on the patio over looking the square and the view of the city and surrounding hills allowed us to unwind after exploring the city.The apartment is located in Piazza de San Marco which is nice hub to catch a taxi or bus to any location in the city. Finding out the Academia Galleria where Michelangelo's David and other great art and sculptures are just block away down the side street from the apartment was awesome surprise. Just below the apartment there is very nice restaurant called "Academia" and the pastry and gelato place on the corner of Via Cavour is a gem. I would definitely rent the apartment from Tiberio again when we return to Florence.

Great visit made better by super apartment

My family and I had a delightful stay and would gladly return to this flat for our next visit. Comfortable, clean, quiet, and most importantly about 15 minutes from every site we wanted to see. I highly recommend this rental!

The apartment was excellent for our family of 4.

The apartment was great. I wanted a rooftop terrace so the stairs was my doing but the views were worth it. the apartment was very clean and the AC worked in 100 degrees. The owner, Tiberio, was excellent and prompt with communications as well as refunding our damage deposit before we left the apartment. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

Great stay in Florence Apartment

We had a great stay in Tiberio's apartment. As others have indicated, it has a great view of the Duomo as well as the rooftops of Florence. It was adequately stocked and perfect for four people. Great value for the money. One warning - the stairs are not for the feint of heart; recommend for visitors that appreciate the value of working off the great Italian food.

A Room with a View

We had a great time at the apartment. The location is great and Tiberio is a perfect host. 10 mins walk from the train station and the major sights. The balcony is a great place just to chill out with a cold beer and watch the sweating masses below being hustled from place to place. The stairs could be an issue for some, especially when carrying heavy cases but its a small price to pay for the view out of the main bedroom window. It is very quiet in the evenings though. It was very hot when we stayed so the aircon was a blessing in the evenings. There is an excellent restaurant and gelato shop just next door, and a supermarket just round the corner. We also visited a pizzeria recommended by Tiberio. All in all great stay.
