Welcome to the California Coastal Cottage, a relaxed and inviting beach getaway just steps from the sand in Ventura. Start your mornings with a short walk to the beach and end with evenings relaxing in your private patio after watching the sunset over the Channel Islands.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights, lock the doors, and return the keys
- Beach towels - wash/dry/fold and return to basket in garage - Bath towels/sheets Start a load in the washer. Note: Laundry detergent provided and available for your use during stay
- Return any furniture moved to proper location
- Cover outdoor furniture & disconnect propane on table - Store any beach toys/chairs back in the box - Close umbrella and secure with bungee

Excellent location with very short walk to the sand, fun restaurants and shops a few blocks away. Easy drive to Harbor Cove and lots of other fun spots in Ventura. Parking in the garage was easy and convenient. The house was clean, well stocked with cooking ware and utensils. The rooms were all comfortable and the backyard was pleasant to spend time in. The hosts were very responsive and available for questions. We hope to be back soon!

Such a nice cottage right near the sand. It is small, but perfect for my family of 4. The owners are great, and we have stayed here 4 years in a row with ZERO issues. We will definitely stay again.

Perfect for us!

This house was perfect for our stay! It was really clean and the location was amazing. We were able to able to walk to the beach, Marina Park and restaurants. My kids loved the bunk beds and sand toys. The backyard was great for eating and hanging out in the beautiful sunshine. The flowers back there were gorgeous! We loved our stay here and hope to be back soon!

This place is in a great location and we appreciated the conveniences of the garage, laundry, and grill. However, it looked like it had not been deep cleaned in ages - there were cobwebs and dust throughout. The dishes and kitchenwares were filthy, needing to be washed before use. Not quite what we were expecting.

Spacious and well cared for home in walking distance to the beach. Open floor plan, allowing for plenty of space to relax together as a family indoors and out. Quiet neighborhood....peaceful retreat! Our family of six had a wonderful time together at the California Coastal Cottage. So many things to do and see in the area; a few excursions we enjoyed are: Santa Cruz Island for hiking and snorkeling, Santa Ines Mission and Solvang, tide pools at Rincon Point and a lot of beach time just steps from the rental. Going home very relaxed and refreshed.

Another wonderful stay

There were some strong storms. One knocked out the power to the garage door opener. Then the door would not completely close. The first time the technician said the mechanism was old and needed to be replaced. It was reported to Zeke. I could not put the car in the garage but parked in front of it for security.

Extremely Convenient

This was the perfect location for us to get just far enough away from home and enjoy a slightly cooler climate and beach weather while being close enough to family north of Santa Barbara to visit and pick up Dad/Grandpa for a few days. My Home Away from Home

This is the third time I rented this property for a beach getaway. It just keeps getting better and better. The host is extremely organized. The house is spotless but still feels very homey. The minute I walk in my shoulders relax and I’m ready for quality R&R! I hate to brag about it too much because I feel like it’s one of my best kept secret hideaways. Wonderful.

Fantastic spot for a family beach week

We had a fabulous week in Pierpont, thanks in large part to this beautiful and comfortable beach house! Everything was beautifully maintained, accessible, easy to find and use and perfect for our family of four, plus my mother in law and sister in law who spent one night visiting us. My two young boys (ages 4 and 2) loved exploring the backyard and even took outside naps in the reclining chairs pulled up under the shade of the awning. I especially appreciated that the house had everything we wanted to use, but was not full of unnecessary knickknacks, which made it very easy to navigate and enjoy. We enjoyed many meals in the backyard and loved being able to walk just 2 minutes down the road to the beach and 10 minutes to a variety of great restaurants a couple of streets over. We're hoping to return again next year and would like to thank our hosts for their responsiveness and hospitality in proving such a lovely spot for our use and enjoyment!

We are Jeff and Leslie, retired professionals who love to travel and enjoy life. We’re fortunate to own and manage four vacation homes in some of our favorite places—Galveston, Texas; Petoskey, Michigan; Ventura, California; and New York City’s Upper West Side.

We spend time between our homes throughout the year depending on the season and rental schedules. In the spring and fall, we usually set out on longer travels, often exploring internationally and enjoying extended cruises.

When we are away, our daughter Sasha and our daughter-in-law Melissa help with guest messages so you’ll always have someone available if you need anything. We also have a local property manager/contact for each home if on-site assistance is ever needed during your stay.

We truly enjoy sharing our homes with guests and hope you feel comfortable and at home .

Why they chose this property

We originally chose this neighborhood because of a career opportunity and quickly fell in love with it. Even after a career move took us elsewhere, we decided to keep the cottage because of how much we enjoyed living here.

When the beach cottage was our home for a time, and we appreciated the relaxed coastal lifestyle, easy access to the beach, and the slower pace of Ventura—while still being close to great restaurants, shopping, and cultural activities.

We return whenever we can and still consider it a special place. We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do.

What makes our cottage unique is the combination of location, comfort, and outdoor living. Just steps from the beach, it offers an easy, relaxed coastal experience without needing to get in the car.
