The California Coastal Cottage, located just steps from the beach in Ventura, is perfectly situated for relaxing and playing on the beach or visiting scenic Santa Barbara and the Central Coast wineries or head south and spend a day in Malibu or Hollywood. Under the wonderful sunny skies of Southern California, you will find miles of beautiful beaches, a thriving harbor filled with recreational and commercial boats, and the feel of Old California in our historic downtown and Mission district.

Ventura, a historical mission town, is located just an hour north of Los Angeles and one-half hour south of Santa Barbara on California's beautiful coastline. LAX is the largest airport but Bob Hope Burbank , Oxnard, and Santa Barbara are regional airports in the area.

While renting a car is advisable, it is possible to reach the cottage via airport bus/shuttle service and Amtrak. Local bus service in the Ventura and surrounding areas is available.

Great stay right next to the beach!

Leslie, Jeff, and Sasha were great hosts that made the check-in and checkout process seamless. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at the cottage. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Excellent location with very short walk to the sand, fun restaurants and shops a few blocks away. Easy drive to Harbor Cove and lots of other fun spots in Ventura. Parking in the garage was easy and convenient. The house was clean, well stocked with cooking ware and utensils. The rooms were all comfortable and the backyard was pleasant to spend time in. The hosts were very responsive and available for questions. We hope to be back soon!

Beach weekend

Great beach cottage - cozy but plenty of room to relax. The perfect location half a block from the water, and a short drive to the pier and to downtown Ventura.

Best place in Ventura

Such a nice cottage right near the sand. It is small, but perfect for my family of 4. The owners are great, and we have stayed here 4 years in a row with ZERO issues. We will definitely stay again.

Perfect location

We stayed for a month to enjoy our adult son who lived near-by and to afford a six night stay for our other son and family. The location was ideal and the living space was generous. The owner/manager was responsive and easy to work with. We will book again next year!

Perfect for us!

This house was perfect for our stay! It was really clean and the location was amazing. We were able to able to walk to the beach, Marina Park and restaurants. My kids loved the bunk beds and sand toys. The backyard was great for eating and hanging out in the beautiful sunshine. The flowers back there were gorgeous! We loved our stay here and hope to be back soon!

Decent Stay

This place is in a great location and we appreciated the conveniences of the garage, laundry, and grill. However, it looked like it had not been deep cleaned in ages - there were cobwebs and dust throughout. The dishes and kitchenwares were filthy, needing to be washed before use. Not quite what we were expecting.

Peaceful and relaxing

Spacious and well cared for home in walking distance to the beach. Open floor plan, allowing for plenty of space to relax together as a family indoors and out. Quiet neighborhood....peaceful retreat! Our family of six had a wonderful time together at the California Coastal Cottage. So many things to do and see in the area; a few excursions we enjoyed are: Santa Cruz Island for hiking and snorkeling, Santa Ines Mission and Solvang, tide pools at Rincon Point and a lot of beach time just steps from the rental. Going home very relaxed and refreshed.

Another wonderful stay

There were some strong storms. One knocked out the power to the garage door opener. Then the door would not completely close. The first time the technician said the mechanism was old and needed to be replaced. It was reported to Zeke. I could not put the car in the garage but parked in front of it for security.

Wonderful weekend

We had a wonderful weekend. VRBO is a first for us. The house was just the right size for the 4 of us. With a little more planning on our part, it had everything we would’ve needed. Less than a minutes walk to the beach. Would stay again.

Lovely Yellow House

Extremely Convenient

This was the perfect location for us to get just far enough away from home and enjoy a slightly cooler climate and beach weather while being close enough to family north of Santa Barbara to visit and pick up Dad/Grandpa for a few days. We loved having the parking and walking distance for an easy and enjoyable week. We definitely recommend the property. It was inviting and organized.

My Home Away from Home

This is the third time I rented this property for a beach getaway. It just keeps getting better and better. The host is extremely organized. The house is spotless but still feels very homey. The minute I walk in my shoulders relax and I’m ready for quality R&R! I hate to brag about it too much because I feel like it’s one of my best kept secret hideaways. Wonderful.

Fantastic spot for a family beach week

We had a fabulous week in Pierpont, thanks in large part to this beautiful and comfortable beach house! Everything was beautifully maintained, accessible, easy to find and use and perfect for our family of four, plus my mother in law and sister in law who spent one night visiting us. My two young boys (ages 4 and 2) loved exploring the backyard and even took outside naps in the reclining chairs pulled up under the shade of the awning. I especially appreciated that the house had everything we wanted to use, but was not full of unnecessary knickknacks, which made it very easy to navigate and enjoy. We enjoyed many meals in the backyard and loved being able to walk just 2 minutes down the road to the beach and 10 minutes to a variety of great restaurants a couple of streets over. We're hoping to return again next year and would like to thank our hosts for their responsiveness and hospitality in proving such a lovely spot for our use and enjoyment!

Rockstar Owners

During my stay my sister (who lives about 30 miles away) got Covid. The owners changed plans and let me extend my stay so I wouldn't get Covid. I have stayed at this property every two years or so since 2012. I can't "Thank" them enough. I hope to be back next year. Sutzi

We are Jeff and Leslie, retired professionals who love to travel and enjoy live. We have four homes (located in Galveston, TX, Northern Michigan - Petoskey, Southern CA - Ventura and a condo in NYC on the upper west side) all of our homes are set up as vacation rentals. We bounce between our homes based on seasons and rental schedules. During the summer we works as aquitic and waterfront directors at over-night youth summer camp in the Poconos.

During spring and fall we typically plan a 6 - 8 weeks international trip, which usually includes 30 days of cruising. When we are traveling you may get a response back from our daughter-in[law Melissa.
