House (Sleeps 14)
The Firehouse is owned by two successful businessmen: one a noted local architect (who oversaw the renovation!) and the other who owns/operates an popular upscale home & lifestyle store in the swanky Old Metairie neighborhood.
John purchased this House in 2000
Why John chose Marigny
The Firehouse building oozes with charm and history. The location is great, too, for those who want to be close to the craziness but in a REAL New Orleans residential neighborhood. And how often can one say they stayed in an authentic firehouse!? It's fun to imagine what it must have been like when the New Orleans Fire Department's Engine 24 called this building home for so many years. The owners and manager strive to provide a clean, comfortable and fun base from which guests can explore New Orleans.
What makes this House unique
The Faubourg Marigny is such an interesting neighborhood on its own, with great restaurants, clubs, coffee shops, etc. Fantasic 1800s architecture everywhere, too! And of course, the French Quarter is just a few blocks away, as is the French Market, the Mississippi River, St. Roch Market (a must-visit on your stay) and more. If you're visiting for a sports weekend, both the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and the Smoothie King Center are a quick 1-2 miles away.

This place was clean, sizable for our large group, and I couldn't be more pleased with the property managers attentiveness! I'd give 10 stars if I could!!
We stayed for a Bachelor Party, 12 guys and a ton of FUN. Great location!!! Firehouse was very spacious and clean. John and the owner's were very easy to work with. We would definitely recommend it to anyone.
The ONLY way to spend my 40th!
This was my first trip to New Orleans! I spent 3 nights with at the Firehouse with 6 other couples and we could not have loved this place more. Each room had it's own private door and private bathroom. Two huge rooms for spending time chatting. I loved waking up each morning and spending time in the top living room drinking coffee and catching up on the night before. The location was great. Yes there was a 15-20 minute walk to get to the really lively areas, but that made for a quiet neighborhood in the evenings. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone and hope one day to visit again!!
Wonderful House for a Group
You know you have chosen well when all couples in the group walk in and say "WOW". The house was perfect for the 5 couples that attended. The kitchen was well appointed even though we ate out most of the time. The upstairs room was a perfect room for us to gather and have fun. The down stairs sitting area was such a unique and fun area that allowed the outside to be apart of it all. It was wonderful to have a bathroom for every room. The house is close to many good places to grab a bit to eat and close enough to walk to a grocery to get a few drinks or food for the house. The house was a great for our group.
Amazing property with plenty of room for 14
If you are bringing a large group to New Orleans, here is the place to stay. Every couple had their own space and perfect spaces to gather. We had an issue with a shower and by the time I finished the text to the property manager I think it was fixed. Amazing experience.
Could NOT have been more perfect!
We knew when we booked this place that it would be interesting and special and had enough spaces for our 13 person family gathering, but we did NOT know how absolutely perfect it would be. Everyone (or every couple or sibling pair) had their own space that they could settle into and escape to. The shared spaces are comfortable and perfect for large groups or for dividing up into separate activities. The location was perfect...we could walk just about everywhere we wanted to go or uber when we needed to. Perfect!
Within 15-20 blocks of the Firehouse are several HUNDRED bars and restaurants, museums, music clubs, shops, etc. You'll also find amazing 19th century architecture, including the Firehouse itself! The Firehouse is formerly a New Orleans Fire Department neighborhood station housing Engine 24, renovated into a guest house in 2004.
