About Loralee Sulick at 714 306-7703 or my "Island Manager" Mr Hunt 310 510 2721

I have been coming here with my family since 1969. My family came to Catalina as a boating destination and fell in love with Avalon and wanted a place we could call home. Four generations have enjoyed the island and all of the wonderful activities it has to offer. My family and I are avid sportsman we enjoy the crystal clear water to Scuba Dive, beautiful coastal scenery for kayaking stand up paddle boarding & the views for hiking, and the beautiful clean beaches to relax on.

Loralee Sulick at 714 306-7703 or my "Island Manager" Mr Hunt 310 510 2721 purchased this condo in 1978

Why Loralee Sulick at 714 306-7703 or my "Island Manager" Mr Hunt 310 510 2721 chose Catalina Island

We chose to buy a vacation rental at this location because no where else can you get an island retreat so close and economically convenient in Southern California. The island has so many fun activities all with in walking distance.

What makes this condo unique

This vacation rental is just one hour away from Long Beach and San Pedro harbors and easily accessible from Newport and Dana Point as well. Catalina Island is one of the top dive and snorkeling destinations in the world with clean clear waters, giant kelp forests and abundant marine life. Enjoy shopping or relaxing at the famous "Desconso Beach" where you can be served adult beverages and food right on the beach. Tours include the new Zip Line tour, semi submersible sub, underwater garden walk, jeep tours of the inland and more. Not interested in spending money on tours, you will find a lot of fun things to do on the island that don't hardly cost a thing, swimming, fishing, hiking, relaxing on the beach or by the pool. The city of Avalon often provides free entertainment in the center of town, music, art displays and more. There are also many special events through out the year on Catalina Island which include a Jazz festival, Art Show, Special 4th of July celebration and New Year's Eve Ball

Owner's Response: Thank you for your'e positive response. I hope you will stay again with us in the future. I know that the unit needs some improvements and are hoping to do some of those this winter. Again thank you so much for the positive feed back. Best regards, Loralee

Very nice

  • 5 of 5

The condo was clean and spacious. The pool and Jacuzzi was very nice. It was easy to check-in and check-out. The only down side was the roll-away bed was really not functional for anybody but maybe a small child (way too soft and saggy). The other beds were fine. We would definitely come back. We had a lovely stay.

Clean and specious but noisy and hot

  • 3 of 5

The apartment was very clean and specious and Mr Hunt the manager was very helpful ( brought water when there was water Breast in the building , brought dishwasher soap when we ran out) but the apartment was very hot , there is no air condition and the fans don't really helps.

It's also facing the street so it's very noisy .

Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

Place we great .

I called property manager the day before and told him we would arrive at noon , we did not make it until 130pm and house was a mess . It had not been cleaned . He sent over cleaning crew we went to walk around for about an hour .

The 1st morning we where the next door neighbor to the right came over about 9am and screamed at me , claiming we where slamming doors and she and the people living there sleep during the day and that we need to be quiet . When we where extremely quiet and barely there at all .

The next day the phone rang off the hook , property manager literally called 10 times , we finally answered , not knowing who it was , and he wanted to come install the blinds . He said "your guys are never there " . Which was true we are an outside family that enjoys being out and about . We don't watch Tv so we where not in the house much .

House was much bigger then I expected . Bed was not great , every time my husband moved the entire bed shook .

There where plenty of extra blankets and pillow but not enough towels at all . We literally shared the few towels provided and reused them all 3 days .

Nice place

  • 3 of 5

My family had a great time in Catalina staying at the Bahia Vista property but being our first VRBO experience it was pretty eye opening. We normally stay in hotels so I'm used to little amenities like larger towels, soap, new sponges, trash bags, things like that. It really is exactly like the photos, I would say it's like staying at your grandma's beach house. No frills or amenities. The pool was nice and it's walking distance to the town center about 6-10 mins. The kitchen tools, pots and pans and appliances were pretty horrible. We attempted to cook one night and all the pans are scratched up; the oven made the whole place extremely hot and the utensils have seen better days. So I wouldn't rent this place expecting to cook. One person slept on the sofa bed one night and theres a blind missing off the slider which needed to be fixed. The sofa really needs to be replaced. It's dirty and looks very old. The tub in the hall bathroom squeaks but overall the bathrooms look like they made the effort to change them up a bit. On VRBO it states checkout is at 11 but Mr. Hunt will tell you it's 9am. Something that should be changed on the website. He is a very sweet man and thankfully let us store our luggage at his office until our boat left.

Overall it's a nice place but for our needs and having a working kitchen I don't think we'll rent again. Thank you!
