Fully Renovated 1BR/2BA Oceanfront Condo on He'eia Bay - Great Rates year round!
Watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean at this beautiful oceanfront resort! Your vacation hideaway is a spacious one bedroom, two bath, first floor condo, fully renovated in 2023! The complex is beautifully landscaped, very well maintained, upscale and quiet. A large comfortable(really!) queen-size sofa bed in the living room plus a porta crib and fold-away bed helps this unit easily accommodate 4 adults or two adults with up to 3 children. Rates are based on 1-4 persons; 5th person $10/night additional.
The condo has a spacious oceanside lanai off the living room with a wet bar and view of He'eia Bay; plus a second lanai off the bedroom.
In May and June of 2023, we completely renovated the entire unit. Replaced the 40-year-old bathrooms and kitchen with new cabinets, appliances, fixtures, sinks, tubs, showers and granite countertops. We installed new flooring throughout the unit, new and brighter lighting, additional ceiling fans and updated the paint and overall decor. New sofa-bed, new lanai furniture and also some exciting new artwork. In updating everything, we aimed to maintain the character and homey feel we loved when we first bought the unit and hope our guests will agree that we succeeded. We increased the number of pictures on the listing to make it easy to visualize everything.
This is our Hawaiian home-away-from-home which we offer as a vacation rental when we are back on the mainland. The fully renovated kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, quality glassware and utensils, and all the usual small appliances, including the all-important coffee maker! Parking is free, covered, and convenient. Also free WiFi in the condo and at the pools that can be used while looking out at the ocean and gardens.
And we have hair dryers in both bathrooms! (one of the more popular questions!)
The delightful ocean breezes and ceiling fans throughout will keep you cool and content. Layout allows cross ventilation so it's very comfortable sleeping. Electricity is very expensive in HI, so we made a conscious decision to forgo installing air conditioning. This benefits our guests greatly in two ways - 1) we can continue to offer our condo at a very competitive rate, and 2) acclimation is easy, many of our guests have commented that while the unit is very comfortable without AC, they also appreciate not having to go through the hot/cold changes when entering/leaving the unit. An additional note - during the renovation, all of the workers commented on how cool the unit was to work in - even during warmer days!
Kanaloa is a gated community with two top-notch tennis courts, 3 pools and spas and a golf course (Kona CC) right next door. The complex is lovely; very well maintained, beautifully landscaped, and feels more like a village than a condo development. This is a truly tropical paradise right on the Pacific Ocean.
Living Space: Over 1000 square feet of living space, plus a bedroom lanai and a spacious oceanside lanai (with wet bar) off the living room area.
Refund Policy: $200 cancellation fee >60 days before arrival; when a cancellation is less than 60 days prior to scheduled arrival, the refund is for the amount resold, less 20%.

We've been visiting Hawai'i since 2000,and fell in love with the Kona Coast - the snorkeling, the coffee, the sunsets and the near-infinite activity choices all within a few miles!
Why they chose this property
It seems like we looked at dozens of condos, from Keauhou Bay to downtown Kailua Kona. Kanaloa at Kona 3402 was one of the first we saw, and became our benchmark. Spacious and comfortable, Nice ocean view from the lanai; steps to the clubhouse pool and tennis courts, and just a short 2 minute walk to the oceanfront pool. Away from the bustle of Kailua Village, but close enough to be convenient for restaurants and nightlife.
One of our favorite things about the condo may seem to be counterintuitive, but we really like the fact that the unit has avoided the sterile "upgrades" that many other Kanaloa condos have had done - we really like the vintage charm and family vacation home feel of the place. While we have done numerous improvements in the last few years (carpet, new appliances, painting, new lamps, bedding, etc) we try to keep the unit fresh without diminishing the "homey" warmth that we and many of our guests love.
