About this property
Charming cottage overlooking pond and meadows
Book our cottage with cabin decor , pine interior walls , well furnished with locally build hardwood furniture , hike to the Susquehanna river with a trailhead starting across the street from property , 30 minutes from Sight and Sound , Dutch Wonderland and all Lancaster County has to offer. Bike or stroll down Tucquan glen Rd and follow the winding creek . Or relax on the patio with view of pond and creek. Go for a swim in the pond.. Pinnacle overlook is just a few miles with stunning evening views. Safe harbor dam and much much more ..,With the temperatures rising we are all looking for ways to cool off. Did you know that there are plenty of activities to do along the Susquehanna River? Whether you are a hiker, biker, fisher, or just outdoor enthusiast there is probably an activity for you.
Love to bike? Whether you are a cyclist or weekend cruiser you’re sure to enjoy the Northwest River Trail. This rail trail connects the river towns of Columbia, Marietta, and Bainbridge where you can explore the unique history of each on two wheels. It offers breathtaking views of the river along the way as well as plenty of shade as you roll along. With a wonderful picnic area and information about the County’s riverland region, the Columbia Crossing River Trails Center provides a great starting place for your adventure.
If you prefer hiking we recommend a visit to Chickies Rock Park. With two overlooks, visitors can take in the incredible vistas of the Susquehanna River. There are also pavilions, picnic areas, and ball fields available- plan to make a day out of it! Rock climbers can often be seen scaling the rock faces along the trail. You can also head over to Pinnacle Point Overlook, which offers stunning views of the Susquehanna. The safe harbor trestle bridge just opened this summer , if you like hiking etc you truly need to check it out. Just a side note , some cell phones will not have service as we are down in the hollow , but you do have service on top of the hill . There is a landline phone free to use and we do have wifi . Rainy day? We have a 32" infinity 1 up game table that offers tons of electronic games ..hours of entertainment for children and adults alike . Any questions or concerns feel free to contact us. While it is more of a rustic interior , we completely redid the bathroom and refinished the interior walls , you will be impressed!
It is a contact free check in etc.. unless you prefer otherwise , let us know ..John and his family live directly across the street and can help if you have any needs..
