Girls weekend getaway

What a fantastic setting for a girls getaway weekend. The house was huge, clean, had incredible views, and came with everything we needed. The owner is so accommodating and really made us feel welcome. This was a great jumping off point for downtown Burlington and the Ben & Jerry's factory, but we really didn't need to go anywhere because the property itself was so great. Highly recommend!

Quintessential Vermont Vacation Home

We wanted to take a northern New England trip with our adult children and chose the Burlington area for our destination. This home was ideal for our Vermont getaway, surrounded by the calm beauty and pace of island living, with close proximity to Burlington, with its unique character and extensive, innovative dining options.

The views from the home and property were simply spectacular. We spent hours reading and relaxing in the open living areas, and on the expansive porch, enjoying the spacious and comfortable accommodations. The home was exceptionally well-kept, with fresh sheets, spotless bathrooms, clean and well-equipped kitchens (yes, there are two!), as well as very comfortable beds. We so appreciated the thoughtful touches, including wooden hangers and luggage racks in each closet, snacks, and a generous gift card to the fine Blue Paddle Bistro in town.

The home is all on one level, and is divided into three main parts: a larger living area, with ample dining-room and living-area seating, and two adjacent bedrooms; a smaller living area, with similar features; and the master bedroom, office, and additional bathrooms between the two living areas. All sections of the home have fantastic views. The divisions of the home gave everyone space and privacy (our children stayed in one area, we stayed in the other), while offering comfortable and welcoming common spaces, both indoors and on the sweeping porch, which spanned the full length of the home.

We had a wonderful time relaxing, hiking, reading, visiting, and venturing into the city. Our host was exceptionally gracious, thoughtful, and very responsive to our questions as we familiarized ourselves with the home and the area. The home, and vacation-rental experience, were superlative, and exactly what we were looking for.

Unpack Your Bags and Enjoy

We were fortunate to have found Lighthouse Estates for our Labor Day weekend vacation. It was so easy and great in every sense for our 2 families… arrive, unpack and relax. The owners thought of everything you need for a beach/lake getaway providing clean towels, bathroom amenities, beach towels, beach chairs, lots of coffee, snacks and water. The new appliances were a bonus and the large eating table made meals easy for everyone to sit down together. The whole house was spacious enough for everyone to spread out and enjoy.

The views from the house were amazing and the backyard was so nice for the adults to relax, kids to play and to watch the beautiful sunrise and sunset. The house is also convenient to all, the marketplace, beaches/boat rental and ferry is a short drive. Again we didn’t need much since the house came with all the basics but it was easy to run out and get anything we needed.

We had a great time and would without a doubt recommend to friends/family. When I reached out about the rental, I got a response shortly after which was great. The communication with the owner was smooth and he was always in touch with any questions and super helpful in terms of what to do and where to go before we arrived, which made the stay even easier. We couldn’t have spent a more relaxed weekend before getting back to school/work. Thank you Lighthouse Estates for a great time!

Unbelievable property, breathtaking views

The property is absolutely spectacular. The amenities provided were excellent and the house was beautifully secluded, but close enough to the downtown area. Wonderfully clean and well stocked, the property truly excelled in every way. Would highly recommend and plan on going again soon!

Perfect Home for a Vermont Vacation

Our family of 7 (including two children) spent a week in this well kept and well appointed five bedroom/five bath home. Located on a hill overlooking Lake Champlain, the views throughout the day were beautiful. The sunsets were especially nice. The house is very private and quiet with no others in sight, just farm fields.

The Inside is clean, comfortable and well stocked. In fact the owner provided some wonderful extras, most of which carried a nautical theme. The house is close to several beaches, golf courses, and restaurants, and a trip to Burlington took half-an-hour. Over the past five years we have rented two other homes in the St Albans area and each required a shlep just to get a carton of milk; not so here. Among the three homes we've rented, this is our favorite.

There are negatives like the size of two of the bedrooms but overall our experience was perfect and we would recommend this home to anyone looking for a private well-kept rental.
