This place is absolutely perfect for families and friends to gather. It has the most beautiful views, sunsets and sunrises. So quiet and peaceful coffee with a fire and ending the evenings with a fire. The house has almost everything you could need. We made dinners and gathered with friends that were getting married. The leaves were already in full fall bloom. We plan to stay here again. Make sure you visit the midway general store.
Very clean and very secluded! This house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We had three families and a total of 11 people, with more than enough room. The sunrise from the porch is amazing.Take advantage of the wood delivery they offer.
We had the best time staying here. The property was very clean, and private - it was well stocked for a week of family fun- with games and books and It sits on a private lake with kayaks, canoe and even a private dock. If you want to explore the UP, this is an awesome place to spend your time- thank- you for a wonderful week!!!

This property met our needs. We traveled with 5 children and 6 adults. We loved the relaxing, lake side home feel. Cooked meals, wet out on the kayaks and the boat. We also made campfires everyday. We took in some sightseeing in nearby towns. Perfect little getaway.

Had a pleasant stay, enjoying the lake and view. Issue with shower. Owner had handyman come out same day notified. Be sure to read driving directions carefully on finding house.
Nice home. Stevens lake is shallow with a lot of weeds. Kids caught many small pike, several bass and lots of blue gill. Bring a fillet knife if not there is a midway general store about 15 miles where you can buy one. Munising is about 40 minutes away and Marquette is an 1 hr and 20 mins. Very peaceful, home is very well stocked. Would definitely stay again.

Thanks for the nice review, we are happy you enjoyed your time at the cabin and area and we look forward to your next visit! Just to clarify, the Midway Store is only 7 miles from the cabin (not 15)... and Munising is approx 27 miles from the cabin. Marquette is approx 1 hour depending on which way you take. You may have taken the longer route, which is scenic as well! Escanaba is approx 55 minutes from the cabin.
Thanks,
Lisa
We all loved our stay in this lovely home. The large picture windows gave us a great view of the Fall colored trees and the lake. Beds were comfy. We had bonfires every night. Went waterfall hunting - taking many photos of the falls and the peaking colors. We were too busy to take advantage of the boat or kayaks....... We created many lovely memories.......

We very much enjoyed our remote get away for a week as a family. While we enjoyed quiet days at the cabin lounging or kayaking, we found access to Munising to the North and Manistique to the south quite easy.
We were able to visit old favorites in the UP, while also creating new favorites. Our kids definitely loved our lazy lake days though. While our teenage girls certainly appreciated the quality wifi, they also enjoyed kayaking (for the first time) all over the lake when ever they could. Our young son enjoyed jumping off the dock and boat rides as well.
We were able to enjoy nightly fires as the colors of sunset danced across the lake and the clouds reflected in its surface. Many deer, geese, crane, and other water fowl enjoyed the lake while we were there. The cabin is well appointed for plenty of family fun, and enough to do should you experience some rainy weather as well.

Hiawatha's Hideaway vacation homes
The house was perfect for our group of 8; I loved that we could all sit at the kitchen table together with plenty of room for meals and games (the kitchen was well stocked with all that we needed). There was also plenty of seating outdoors, both on the deck, and down by the lake, to enjoy campfires, peace and quiet, or conversations (the swing!) The lake was lovely and quiet (not much luck fishing, but there are plenty of other lakes to fish nearby). Our kids (and I) enjoyed taking turns with the two kayaks exploring the lake and the attached Little Steven's Lake. Also took walks around the property and down the road a bit--it's SO beautiful! We saw either a moose or elk track (family debated over which), deer, bald eagle, little toads in the yard, lots of birds... :)
We made a few day trips to Whitefish Point and Tahquamenon Falls, Munising to do the Pictured Rock cruise, and at Marquette to visit Black Rocks and a fun Escape Room ("Catch a Killer" was SO much fun!)
The hosts were easy to contact and very friendly!
Highly recommend this property!

Hiawatha's Hideaway vacation homes
I would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in spending some quality family time in the Upper Peninsula. We absolutely loved the rustic atmosphere ,having the lake as our backyard, the firepit at the lakeside to relax around at the end of the day, gaze at the stars and just spend time together.
It was close enough that doing the tourist thing was not an issue yet remote enough that you truly felt like you were away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Lack of cell phone service was actually a welcome reprieve.
This home was so well equipped, we actually brought more than we needed b/c past experience with other rentals led us to believe that the kitchen would lack tools we needed to prepare meals. Not so here! Everything you needed for everyday living needs was more than adequately supplied.
Really felt that Lisa and Tom had bent over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed and then some.
Although this was not your traditional celebration, we can think of no better way to celebrate than spending quality time in a beautiful place with the people you love the most. Thank you for sharing this home and making a forever memory for our family

Good isolated spot for a vacation
Liked the house, but not the roads to get there. House is carpeted in the kitchen, a bit hard to keep it clean. Lots of beds. Lake has Leches. But probably good for fishing, but I don't know for sure. Lots of frogs for entertainment with children.

Thanks for the review. The cabin is off the beaten path yet only 25 miles to Munising/Pictured Rocks, which makes for a great family vacation. We have no control over the roads, however they have been beautifully maintained by the county so not sure what problems you had with them. Besides the frogs and leaches, there are bald eagles, deer, porcupine, raccoons, turtles, birds and much more wildlife to see! I was only a phone call or text away if you had any concerns.
Take care,
Lisa and Tom
Cozy home on a lake in a very rural setting in the woods, kids loved the canoe and fishing, dining and living area had lots of big windows to enjoy the lake view, comfortable beds, manager was accommodating to our needs. We didn't want to leave.

Our group of 8 throughly enjoyed our stay at Steven's Lake! The setting is beautiful and peaceful and the house is comfortable and clean and had all the conveniences we needed. We loved the deck and the fire pit area. The dock and fishing boat and canoe were great for our fishermen. The location is centrally located for our many sightseeing trips. Lisa and Tom were great to work with! They answered all our questions quickly. In short, "Heaven" was exactly what we were hoping for and we plan to come back when we visit the UP again!

Very clean and well furnished. Very relaxing.
Loved the setting. The house was very clean and well furnished, even spices. Although it did take a while to figure out how to get to various attractions. We ended up getting a map from the park ranger. One item that we wished we had access to was the renting of a larger boat or pontoon. However, the property did come with two canoes, two kayaks and a row boat. There were plenty of life jackets.

Great property for the whole family!
This is a perfect upper-woods vacation house and property for the whole family. Plenty of room in the house for our party of 11. House is just what you need. Very secluded. Lake is small but surprisingly fished well. Plenty of panfish to catch for kids, decent bass and pike also. The kids had a blast and the stay was very relaxing for the adults. We will be returning.
