Why they chose this property
Kariba Heights, the hilltop low density suburb and location of the Operation Noah monument. it overlooks the surrounding region and offer impressive views of lake Kariba and its environs. The View is strategically located on the Kariba Heights within a short walking distance from the viewpoint. The viewpoint is one of the most popular places to give visitors a specular bird's eye view of the lake and its surroundings. The View is overlooking a mountainous range which borders Zimbabwe and Zambia and stretches along the Zambezi River. Its proximity to church of St Barbara makes it easy for the visitors to pass by and read about its history.
What makes this property unique
Church of Santa Barbara is one of the tourist attractions in Kariba. It is situated on Kariba Heights which is a walking distance from the View. This delightful little round church was built by workers and engineers employed by the Italian company contracted to build the Kariba Dam wall. The church is dedicated to St Barbara, who is the patron saint of engineers/construction workers.
A plaque with the names of the construction workers who lost their lives during the building of Kariba Dam is also located at the viewpoint other than inside the church.
There are also convenient shops for basic commodities. However, visitors are encouraged to bring most of their requirements for self-catering to avoid any inconveniences.
There are occasional sightings of elephants, zebras, hyenas, baboons, etc. within the neighborhood.
