About this property
Hilltop Home on Lake Whatcom | Views, Beach Access & Space for Ten
The living room window frames Lake Whatcom like it was designed for it — and the view changes all day. Morning brings soft light on the water. By evening, the lake goes gold and the group migrates out to the fire table to watch it happen.
The Space The house sits on the hillside above the lake with full southern exposure, so light pours in across the open main floor. Five bedrooms and 5.5 baths mean ten people can share the house without anyone waiting on a bathroom or bumping into each other in the hall.
The kitchen is built for groups — gas range, fully stocked, enough counter space that two or three people can cook at once without getting in each other’s way. The dining room has a gas fireplace and the living room has one too, so on cooler nights both spaces stay cozy and warm.
When the group wants to split up, there’s room for it. A media room handles movie nights. The game room keeps people occupied. The large fenced backyard gives dogs and kids somewhere to go. And when everyone’s ready to reconvene, the fire table out front tends to pull people back together.
The Lake Beach access is a short walk down from the house — shared with the nearest neighbors, this stretch of shore is quieter and less developed than other parts of the lake. Lake Whatcom Park is about two miles away, with two trails: one that runs gently along the waterline and one that climbs for views from above.
Good to Know Self check-in via keypad — no waiting around for anyone. Pets welcome. Two garage parking spaces plus a large driveway.
One honest note: the road up to the house from the lake is steep. In winter, if there’s ice or snow that makes it unsafe to get in, we’ll refund you fully. We’d rather tell you upfront than have you find out on arrival.

So glad that you enjoyed your stay at Whatcom Lake View. The view of the lake is stunning, isn't it? Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the home and area.
This was an amazing house to stay in. I never stayed in such luxury. The hosts were amazing, and even left us chocolates on our bed.

So glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay at this lovely home. The primary bedroom suite is fantastic, isn't it? Views from the king bed - oh what a morning!
We appreciated what great guests you were and would be happy to host you again!
We loved this absolutely huge house! It accommodated our family wonderfully! The views are incredible. You get lots of sun and several places to hang out. The bedrooms and bathrooms are nice. The management is great. Parking is plentiful. Lots of room for kids to play. We would definitely come back.
The best spot I've stayed in a while. Well furnished and stocked. No complaints, great for families and kids. Great water views from the enormous deck. Not directly on the water, that was a plus because it was nice that we avoided the wind over the lake.

Thank you for your great review Yochanan. We are glad that you found everything you needed and had a great stay for you and your family. Having a fenced backyard, especially in a property close to the water is such a benefit when you have kids or pets!
The house is situated in a way that maximizes the stunning views of Lake Whatcom. One of the most enjoyable experiences was to gather on the decks and luxuriate in the sun. The house was well provisioned and stocked with things we didn't expect. We particularly appreciated its roominess, allowing ten people to be in one house without feeling at all cramped.

Thank you for your lovely review Gladys. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay in this lovely home and enjoyed those amazing views.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. It was large enough to very comfortably house 6 adults in 4 bedrooms with more space if we had needed it. The property manager communicated consistently and quickly. Can’t beat the view of Whatcom Lake. Only thing missing was an umbrella on the 4 decks, but all else was great!

Thank you for the great review Barry. We are so glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay at this fabulous home. And thanks for the umbrella suggestion - it is a work in progress and a couple of umbrellas would be great additions.
This place is awesome! It's HUGE and there's plenty of room to spread out. Having a completely fenced backyard for our dogs is crucial! Some places advertise a fenced backyard, and there will be a fence around a portion, but not something you can carefree let your dogs go out. When they need to. The downstairs has a movie theater and fooseball, which were great for the kids. We'll 100% be back to this place!

Thanks for taking the time to thoroughly review the Whatcom Lake View. We are so glad that your dogs had the freedom to enjoy the backyard. We hope you all made wonderful memories there!
First of all, the host was amazing. Always responded quickly to any questions we had. The house was perfect for our family and friends getaway for 4 days. Even with 9 adults, 2 toddlers and 3 dogs there was still plenty of space. We were very grateful to have been able to bring our Labrador retrievers with us and they enjoyed being able to have freedom running around the back yard. We enjoyed our time at the lake, playing bocce in the back yard, as well as sitting around the campfire at night and then having our foosball competitions. Everyone had a great time! Thanks for all the goodies in the basket to make smores.
We will definitely book this vacation rental again.
Our group consisted of 5 couples who are old high school friends that graduated in 1966! For the last 5 years we have done a yearly trip to a different part of the the US to enjoy each other's company and see new places! We all loved this beautiful home and the gorgeous views. Watching how the views changed as the clouds rolled in and then as the sun came out and the sunsets was one of our favorite things. This house offers so many things, lots of bedrooms, a beautiful kitchen, areas to gather and areas to go read a book in peace. We enjoyed watching the deer out back snacking on apples from the trees and moving around the property. We took a nice walk on the trail not far from the house through a fern forest and one down to the dock on the lake. We did so many things in the area. We went to a fish fry with live music at Boundary Bay, went to the farmers market and enjoyed Anthony's and the Filling Station restaurants. We went to Vancouver and spent the day at Grouse Mountain and the suspension bridge, went to Victoria to see the Butchart Gardens and spent a day taking the Amtrak train to Seattle to see the Chihuly Glass Museum and Gardens and went to the Public Market. We also did brunch on the Schooner. Our days were full but the time we spent at the house were also thoroughly enjoyed.
