Very pleased with the place. Not fancy, but cute, clean, and so close to the beach with an incredible view. Kitchen is small but totally perfect for making meals and avoiding going out to eat. Bed is comfy, couch is comfy. Bathroom is simple but everything works great. Definitely will try to return in future years!

The floors were dirty upon arrival. If you walked barefoot in there your feet would get covered in grime. The room could use a good cleaning and a little paint touch ups. Location was great and views were lovely.

Always a great stay

We always enjoy staying at Port o Call and have a great time in Wild Dunes. This property was pretty clean though there were a few dirty dishes we found while using them that we had to wash again. The check-in at a physical location seems unnecessary, especially in a very busy part of Isle of Palms where it can be tricky to get out. Many other rentals here have provided printable parking passes and emailed the door code and I feel this could be done here as well. And while the place is wonderful, the price for staying for 5-7 nights has risen so much in the last couple of years and I'm unsure why. But those are inconveniences that don't sully the stay itself. It was a fine stay and the whole family has a great time.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve stayed in several unit’s because PortOCall is our go-to place at the beach. This unit was great! The bed was comfortable, the chairs on the porch were comfortable and of course the view was to die for. The place was tastefully decorated. One of my favorites! If I had to come up with one minor issue it would be the cookware. The cephalon/teflon plans were scratched up and’s peeling. I would recommend then replacing them. I usually travel with my own pans, but didn’t this trip. It’s tough with different people using the cookware. Definitely not the owners fault. I totally loved this place and I will DEFINITELY be back to this unit if it’s available. It’s a gem!

Great view - Condo NOT well-maintained

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo has so much potential! The view is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, that’s where the good stops.This place is clearly not being kept up. Sunken mattress, moldy pillows, a lot of rust, peeling or missing paint, loose or falling vents, both sets of vertical blinds had blinds missing/broken and didn’t have a way to close. The screened in porch had a lot of peeling paint, rotted wood and holes in the screen. Many holes and scratches on the walls (I’m assuming from past wall decor?). There’s a ceiling stain/leak. All the drawers in the kitchen are either broken or off track.No pantry staples, oven mitts or laundry detergent.

Thank you for the kind words regarding the outstanding location of our condo. We agree, the view is absolutely beautiful. This unit is one of a few top floor oceanfront units with a widow’s peak to enjoy the ocean without obstruction. We regret to hear that you did not enjoy your time in such a beautiful location. Let us address your concerns. The condo has undergone a comprehensive upgrade, featuring entirely new furniture, including tables, dressers, pull-out sofa, televisions, wall art, rugs, and flooring. We are uncertain about the reference to upkeep, as the unit has received significant improvements. While the oceanfront location may result in minor paint chipping outside, we ensure that the interior is well-maintained. Upon inspection, we found no evidence of "loose or falling vents" or "moldy pillows." We apologize if the bed was uncomfortable; it now boasts a brand-new mattress topper. Concerning the assertion about kitchen drawers, every cabinet and drawer functions as expected, and the kitchen is fully stocked. We were unaware of any issues with pantry staples and would have gladly assisted if notified. Regarding laundry detergent, the condo now includes labeled laundry detergent for the convenience of our guests. Additionally, the bed has a brand new mattress topper and we have replaced all the blinds in the unit with curtains for ease of use. We are sorry for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay. We attempted to reach out to discuss your concerns further but were unsuccessful. We would have been delighted to assist you promptly if these concerns were raised during your stay. We sincerely hope you have a more enjoyable experience in a future stay at Wild Dunes.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 1. Had to make a paper flyswatter to kill at least 3-4 wasp inside the screened deck each day.2. Screened deck furniture was very old and the table was in terrible condition and falling apart.3. Deck ceiling fan was in very poor condition and the chain was broken. I tried to fix it but it broke again. Fan could still work but a hazard to adjust with a short chain.4. Vertical blinds were difficult to open and close and several of the panels were in the floor and on the coffee table when we arrived.5. The small pillow on the bed had a tear and was leaking out the stuffing when we arrived. Fortunately there was a replacement in the closet.6. Watching the TV was disappointing due to only streaming services available. Could not get any of the Charleston local channels and could not get the daily news. Not having any local channels should have been indicated to renters in the leasing information.7. I have stayed at this complex five times in the past and never found one in such poor condition as this unit.

We apologize for the presence of bugs in the unit. Some guests utilize the space as both indoor and outdoor, and we have taken steps to address this issue by replacing the outdoor screens. Please note that Island Realty provides a 24-hour service to assist you with any issues that may arise during your stay. 2. Regarding the outdoor furniture, we acknowledge your feedback and will monitor its condition closely. 3) We are sorry to hear that the ceiling fan chain was too short. We have since replaced the ceiling fan with a new, remote, operated fan. We encourage guests to reach out to us for assistance with any issues during their stay. 4) Indeed, vertical blinds can be a hassle to use. We have replaced them all with new curtains for ease of use. 5) We are sorry to hear about the small tear in the pillow and have since replaced them all with new fluffy ones to ensure a comfortable stay. 6. We apologize for any confusion about the television. We provide YouTube TV at no additional charge, including local channels. We are always available to assist guests in navigating the streaming platform. 7. We regret to learn the changes in this unit were not to your liking. In the last 6 months, several enhancements have been made to this condo, including new furniture such as a pull-out sofa, dressers, end tables, rugs, and wall décor. Furthermore, we've added a new mattress topper, applied fresh paint, installed new flooring upstairs and upgraded with new mounted TVs. We genuinely apologize for any shortcomings, and we appreciate the opportunity to enhance our services for future guests.

Great View, but Otherwise Disappointing

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at 25+ vacation rentals in the last 5-6 years for various reasons. This is the first one we feel obligated to warn future guests not to stay. We are fairly easy to please and left feeling the stay was significantly overpriced for what you get. We would not recommend a friend for what it cost. Pros: Good view/access to beach and good washer/dryer. Cons: Kitchen was the most disappointing part of the trip. Be warned: it is very understocked and very small. No pot holders, no functioning can opener, no good knifes, pans were old and enamel was coming off to name a few issues. No coffee was provided which seems standard at vacation rentals these days so thankfully a previous review warned us of that. Dishwasher left all items soaking wet after the cycle. The list goes on. House had abnormal amount of bugs/critters. There were no cleaning supplies to sweep up, clean up anything. AC was best in the hallway. The dining/kitchen/living room were hot and ventilation was poor. Toilet barely functioned and would have to hold lever for a long time to flush.

We have our favorite properties based on the number of people traveling with us. This one we found perfect for 2 people. It was renovated last year and we could rell the owners take pride in it. Any issues we had were minor and the management company is very responsive. The main draw of this,unit is the view..not just of the sea,but the stars. It's a quiet spot on the beach, perfect for rejuvenating.

Beautiful ocean front escape!

There are only two sets of towels. Bring your beach towels- so if you are flying make sure to pack them! A things to do book at the condo would be helpful- Restuarants In Wild Dunes? Bike Rentals? Grocery store is close and a cute coffee/breakfast Co-op. Our last place had a welcome basket with coffee. There is a keurig and a regular coffee pot. And there is a hairdryer! We had a fantastic time and would go back!!!
