We just spent three nights at the cottage in Star. We had an awesome time. The pictures don’t do it justice at all. When we walked inside it was like coming home. The cottage was decorated for Easter. Loved all of the cute decorations. It was chilly at nights and the gas logs were so cozy. Our Dachshund had her own recliner and she loved cottage. We visited the Pisgah Covered Bridge and the the Biscoe Cemetary. My husband’s family from from there. It was such a blessing seeing all of the history. We hope to come back again sometime and stay at this little gem!
We had a wonderful stay for a long weekend. Host is excellent with communications and very responsive to questions. The kitchen and house is well equipped and very clean. Cute property and perfect for our stay. Would stay again in the future.
Everything was exactly as advertised. The property is very well maintained and is perfect for a family with pets. Close to the North Carolina Zoo which we highly recommend visiting on your stay!
We had such an amazing stay at the cottage! The hosts were extremely accommodating and responsive, which made everything so easy. The home is even cuter and quainter than the photos show, and the property felt very private—perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. Plus, the charming little town just 10 minutes up the road was such a bonus!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay! The house was very nice and very clean and had everything we would need for our week stay. Well stocked with pots, pans, paper goods and k cups!!! The fenced back yard was great for the dog too! Thank you for having us and we would absolutely stay again!
The house and property were beautiful and quite accommodating. Very secluded and quiet. Would recommend this property to anyone looking to get away and have a relaxing stay.
We very much enjoyed this property. Well stocked, extremely comfortable and a hit with our 2 dogs. They loved the fenced in yard. Hope to enjoy it again as our son’s family lives in the area.
The house is beyond what I expected… Love the location and peace. Very clean, quiet, comfortable and immaculately kept. We look forward to coming here again soon.
We had a wonderful family vacation in the cottage! Everything was very comfortable and we enjoyed being able to have our furbabies with us. The home and the property were gorgeous! We will definitely look to book again! Thank you!
Me and my family had a wonderful time here this past weekend. We wanted a place near the zoo and this place was wonderful. Beautiful, clean and communication with owner was superb. Would 100% recommend!
The cottage is beautiful! We loved the porches in the mornings and evenings. And the location is great…so many things to do within a short drive. Plus, our dog LOVED the yard! We highly recommend this cottage

What makes this property unique
Our cottage is located on property that has seen 5 generations of family ownership. The property was first acquired for subsistence farming in the late 19th century. It rests at the base of the Uwharrie Mountains, home of the first gold rush in the United States. A vein of white flint rock crosses the property where one may see a quartz crystal or fool's gold on a daily walk.
