About the property

Beautiful Lake Leelanau is the perfect spot for a summer vacation and Shoreline Pines is a sweet cabin style home for a family vacation. Situated on 100' of Lake Leelanau, this property also features a one-of-a-kind boat house directly on the water. Attached deck to the boat house makes for the perfect spot to catch some sun or cast a line. The yard is nicely treed with pines, cedars and birch, so hanging outdoors is comfortable with dappled shade. Plenty of outdoor seating on the deck and on the shoreline too.

This cozy 1300 sf ranch with an abundance of new updates sleeps up to 11 and features 3 bedrooms with 1 King, 1 Queen, 1 Full, Sofa bed and a Twin air mattress plus 2 baths. There is window air in the living room. This home is nicely shaded and close to the water so it stays pretty cool inside. The studio guest house, which is separate from the house features a Queen bed & air mattress. Ceiling fan and window air conditioner. Linens are included. Much of the home has bamboo floors throughout.

Enjoy family dinners out on the enclosed porch that overlooks the lake or enjoy the spacious yard and cook on the provided charcoal grill outside. Sit around the fire pit right on the edge of the lake, grill the catch of the day, play yard games or simply do nothing at all. This spot on Lake Leelanau is hard sandy bottom frontage. Jump right off the dock into sparkling clear water. You do not find many properties so close to the waterfront either! The sunset views from this location are stunning. Can it get any better than this?!

There are 3 TV's/cable and WIFI.

The great outdoors features tall pines so you can enjoy both a shady spot and plenty of sunshine near the shoreline. Thinking of bringing your small boat? There is a dock and small covered boat house provided. The Lake Leelanau boat access is just down the street. Your well mannered pet is welcome.

This home is located minutes to the village of Lake Leelanau. Enjoy local made pastries at the Leelanau Pie Shop, specialty coffee drinks at Peddling Beans, locally made vodka at the Northern Latitudes distillery tasting room plus dozens of wineries. Blustone, Forty-Five North and Laurentide are minutes from this location. Rent a pontoon at the Narrows, have a pizza at Dicks Pour House, pick up some groceries at the local corner store. You can even walk across the street to Hahnenberg Farm Market and Cider Mill. There you can pick up fresh cinnamon rolls or the local produce of the week. Public boat launch is 1/4 of a mile away. Located 20 minutes from Traverse City, 5 minutes to Leland and 10 minutes to Suttons Bay. Sleeping Bear Dunes is about 25 minutes away. You will not be disappointed when you stay at Shoreline Pines. This spot is simply amazing.

This is a Sunday - Sunday rental for prime summer weeks. Short stays available off peak.Memorial and Labor Day weekends require three nights.

Reviewer Comments:

OK, toilets need to be clean and inspected!!! Also, ADD Clean Drier Vent to your list of SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures)!!! Your staff also needs to be educated on how to charge for additional nights... or at a minimum have a least a supervisor available too handle these type's of questions???

Reviewer Comments:

Lots of space for all 11 family members, lake was nice sandy bottom, kitchen equipped with enough pans and amenities to cook almost all meals there. Used the kayaks, they were fun. Furniture a bit tired, but most of the beds seemed firm.

Reviewer Comments:

I have been traveling to the Leelanau Peninsula with my family for more then 20 years, this is the first time we have rented with Visit Up North. Although my 7 guests, dog and I, loved the location of Shoreline Pines and Adirondack chairs on the deck. Between the "under construction" boathouse (not disclosed to us prior to our stay) with caution tape blowing in the breeze, to the loose boards on the deck steps and soft boards near the grill, to the broken fridge door shelf and drawer, lack of privacy curtains in the backroom (2 doors and a window), musty mildew smell in the master bedroom and dust build up in storage areas (on top of dryer and under guest beds) it is unlikely we would book another week at this specific cottage. In addition the porch for the small house and side porch for the big house looked like they hadn't been swept in some time (several days), we ended up sweeping them ourselves and the welcome mat for the small house was full of sand and hadn't been shook out. I understand that musty smells and aged appliances come with the territory of rental properties on the water, but for my friends and family it was not worth the $4,500 cost to stay for just 1 week. This is a solid 3 star rental with 4-5 star potential.

Reviewer Comments:

Cottage was nice, but hot because air conditioner had one setting On 81 degrees. Dock was under construction and had caution tape on end and on steps to rocky shore. Guest house was very nice and secluded from main house. Ants were around kitchen sink but were sprayed by rental company the next day that took care of problem. Grill was rusted and dirty.

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your thoughts. The heat wave sure was a challenge. We are looking into additional ac to cool the house. The dock platform was fully available. The boat house was taped off at the entry. We wonder if someone moved the tape. The ant problem up north has been challenging. They are everywhere. The dry conditions bring them in.

Reviewer Comments:

The area is amazing and the cabin is in an excellent central location for visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, the small villages, beaches, wineries, etc. The cabin is awesome with everything we needed. Our only negative is the swimming. The frontage is not sandy as described, more a soft very sand to muck base. It wasn't pleasant swimming. We did paddle boarding and fishing on the lake instead and had a great time. I wouldn't consider this a great cabin for small kids to swim.

Map

THE TOWN OF SUTTONS BAY Heading north, about 15 minutes from Traverse City, you will discover the idyllic village of Suttons Bay on the eastern shore of the Leelanau Peninsula on Grand Traverse Bay. The Suttons Bay harbor has been a haven for boaters since the early 19th century. Today, families bask in the sun on the shores or walk the boardwalk around the marina. Stop in and visit the Inland Seas Visitors Center, the quaint antique shops and art galleries, hike or snowshoe the Leelanau Trail or Bahles Park. If that’s not enough, visit Candy World for some sweet treats or divine desserts at Chimoski Bakery. At the end of the day have dinner at one of the many wonderful eateries such as Martha’s Table or Boones PrimeTime Pub and relax with a movie at The Bay Theatre. (and you can walk to everything!) Like sledding? Bahles Park right in the village offers family fun for free. On your way south out of town stop by the Hilltop Barn for home decor, gifts and antiques & great food at 22 & Vines.
