Property was clean and in order. Owners were very nice and were very helpful. ONLY bad thing I can possibly say is it would be nice to have had a ceiling fan on the back porch.
We had a great time on our trip! The place was clean and in great condition! The location was perfect and away from the crowds. Short walk (5 min.) to the beach was worth it! Never crowded!
We brought our boat and were able to dock it at the house which was great. The walk to the beach is very easy and the state park has very few people. One afternoon we had the beach to ourselves. Loved the house and the stay.
Beautiful property, easy check in, and great communication with Cindy and Richard. We love making family memories here on vacation. This year was super special as our twins graduation college. Thank you for sharing your home with us, we are grateful.
Well equipped kitchen. Nice deck with outdoor furniture and barbecue grill to enjoy fishing in the canal. House needs some updates.
There was a construction next to the house.
Perfect place to meet up with our adult kids and enjoy a week at the beach. The back porch, hammock, and dock were a hit. Loved watching the fish at night. A 4 minute walk to the beach was a definite bonus.
We love bringing our boat and being in the canal is a perfect spot because we are close to the bay and the beach. Not far from boat launch. This was our second time to stay here and plan on coming back again if possible
The house was a great fit for our family. The State beach was short walk and due to limited parking the beach was sparsely populated.
The dock was an outstanding area for the children to catch pin fish and small crabs.
The bedrooms were very comfortable.
The kitchen was well stocked for all of your cooking needs and the common space was quite ample.
Overall everything we could have wanted.
PROS: The home was clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the location was close to the beach and at the time of year we were there, the beach was secluded. It was great to have the dock for fishing and relaxing. It was easy to communicate via text with the owner. The neighbors that share the duplex were really nice to talk with and helpful when we had some issues with the keypad.
CONS: It would be nice if each bathroom had 2 rolls of TP and there were more paper towels and trashbags. We had to go out and purchase all of these things. We were there for 12 days and it just seemed to us like some of the basic necessities were not there for the duration of our time. The ice maker did not work, so we also had to purchase ice. We spent a lot of time on the dock and the wood furniture was really in need of repair or replacement. Arms were missing, the wood was flaking and overall really unstable for the most part. The chains on the bikes were rusty and the pedals wouldn't move, so we couldn't really use them for biking around the neighborhood.
All in all, it was a good place in a good location, but just needing a bit of updating/repair of some of the things.
House was welcoming and well appointed. Located on a canal to the Ole River with state park beach access 2 blocks away. Had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
Would definitely stay here again.
Very nice beach house with everything needed for a weeks stay. The only complaint my be the outdoor furniture on the dock. Wasnât comfortable and not very sturdy. Other than that, everything else was was great. We had so much fun during our stay!
Traveling with 2 teens we need space and this was perfect. Master on the main. The walk to the beach is very hot so took the car just up to a public beach. We really enjoyed the dock behind the house and spent more time there. We had awful weather off and on so the covered porch was used a lot too. Would definitely stay here again if we go back to perdido. Plenty of restaurants within 20 minutes or so too.
Cindy's place was beautiful, and clean. Communication and check in was easy as well. I loved sitting in the back deck drinking my coffee every morning. The outdoor furniture needs an update but Im sure as a renter, that will happen in the future. The inside and outside were perfect for enjoyment and relaxation. We hit the beach everyday! The walk was longer than I expected but I think Hurricane Sally had something to do with that. My kids loved the dock and swam in the bay several times. We were blessed to see dolphins swimming in the bay as well and that was such a neat experience. There is plenty of wildlife to see. The area is family friendly and we would definitely stay here again!! Thank you for letting us rent your beautiful home. It's truly a hidden jem.
Amazing property. The home was very nice and clean. My family had a fun time fishing and swimming in the backyard. Also very close beach access, walking distance. Overall an 10/10 experience.
Weâve stayed at this property several times and itâs always fantastic! Very clean, comfy, and just a great property overall! We always bring our pontoon and the dock allows ample space and ease for this. Great communication and stress free check in/out procedures. We used the gas grill a few times and were pleasantly surprised to find a back up gas tank as to not delay our cooking. Only future request would be an ice maker, but there is a twice the ice a few miles away.
This home is so comfortable, relaxing, and clean. It was less than a mile from our favorite beach location. It's right on the water so we were frequently out fishing and checking our crab traps. At night, they have a green light for night fishing. We aren't the best at fishing but the kids thought the light was cool because it allowed us to see lot of fish that were swimming around the light. My favorite part of the house was the porch upstairs and the hammock underneath. So relaxing and yet I could still be close enough to be included with what the kids were doing. The neighbors were nice. The street is quiet. They have an outside shower that we used to rinse off after the beach to help keep the sand to a minimum in the house. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed. The owners are easy to get ahold of and are quick to respond. It's definitely my favorite beach house we have stayed at in the years we have been coming to gulf shores. Its a hidden treasure that I'm so glad we stumbled upon. We cannot wait to start planning next year. Thank you for opening your home for us to borrow for our 2 week vacation đ„°
Having grown up in this area, Perdido Key will always remain the most beautiful beach in the world to me, grew up watching the Blue Angels practice overhead every week and lived for those walks in the sand, collecting sea shells, crabbing, fishing and swimming and boating in the Gulf and on the river or bay.
It is the perfect island destination for fishing, (go to myfwc.com for fishing license and regulations), boating, (you can dock your boat right behind the house for easy access), surfing, skiing and walking on the beach. This is a quiet area that is right in the middle of Perdido Key State Park, close to NAS (home of the Blue Angels) and downtown Pensacola, Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. Nearby Galvez Landing is convenient for launching a boat.
Being on the water is so soothing, nature's therapy, with just a short walk over to the beach, making it ideal! Whether enjoying the view of the water from the deck or fishing from the dock, it is always enjoyable. The open, large floor plan allows the whole family to spend time together comfortably.
