Unfortunately, we were unaware of the severe thunderstorm that occurred before your arrival, which brought several inches of water. As soon as you notified us, we promptly arranged for you to move to another house just 200 yards down the street, with a beautiful view of the beach. We also informed you that you could return to your original house as soon as the water over the concrete driveway had receded. This happened the next morning, and we’re pleased that we could resolve the situation with minimal disruption to your plans. We're delighted that you were able to enjoy your stay at A Way From It All.

I'm sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. I want to assure you that this property is among the most meticulously maintained and bug-free in the area. I personally cleaned it before your arrival, and there were no signs of bugs at that time. The house had been rented four times since Hurricane Beryl (July 8th) and before your stay (August 9th), including by the owners themselves, with no issues reported. After receiving your feedback, I sent a cleaner to inspect the property for any signs of bugs immediately. No problems were found. I also visited the property myself two days later and confirmed it was bug-free. There was a can of fly spray left on top of the fridge for guests' convenience, primarily for mosquitoes, not roaches. Mosquitoes can be more prevalent after storms or heavy rain, and they can enter the house if doors are left open. This might explain any insect activity you experienced. Lastly, I generally expect prompt and direct communication from guests for issues like this. I specify this in all pre-arrival communications. For significant concerns, a phone call the next morning is preferred. Instead, I received an email from you at 3:40 PM the following day, after checkout time, requesting a refund.
