Jim was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. He even arranged parking for us before check-in and let us use the garage, which was much appreciated. The location is great—close to the beach and boardwalk.That said, there are a few things future renters may want to know. The home is definitely on the dated side, and the downstairs king bedroom serves as the only inside passageway to get from downstairs to upstairs, so there isn’t much privacy in that room. (You can go upstairs from the front door and outside back deck) The kitchen could be better stocked with basics like utensils, foil, and trash bags, and many of the TVs are older (no smart TVs). There was also a strong air freshener in some of the bedrooms, which felt like it might have been covering something up. Lastly, there was a boxed mirror sitting in the foyer all week that hasn’t been hung yet, which made the entryway feel a bit unfinished.Overall, we had a great time and appreciated Jim’s quick communication, but these are a few things I wish I’d known before booking.

It would be impossible for us to have enjoyed our time more. Family reunion. I reserved early and Jim was incredibly responsive throughout the year. I had a ton of questions, Jim answered all and suggested how we might enjoy our time even more. He was clear about heck-in, departure. During our stay he was readily available for questions and concerns. The HOUSE lived up to its advertising, Both big and roomy. Many spaces for gathering. Layouts of kitchens that made multiple cooks possible. Big family dinners on that fabulous deck. Location. Location. Location. The beach and boardwalk less than a hop, skip, and a jump away. My family holds reunions every two years. All of my family members remarked that this was the best reunionkom in a long time! Why? The house, the beach, and Jim. You should absolutely rent this house. Laid back and spacious. What else could you possibly need?

Family Vacation

Our family had a great stay at this property. Beach access was very convenient, and there was plenty of space for our group. Jim was a great communicator and an accommodating host. We will definitely look to stay here again.

Perfect Beach Stay

Jim’s place was perfect for our girls trip. The location was amazing - walking distance to the beach, boardwalk and many restaurants. Jim was super kind and easy to communicate with and offered an open line of communication should we need anything at all. I would highly recommend staying here for your next trip to Point Pleasant!

Perfection in Point Pleasant

This property was absolutely perfect for our large group. It is spacious, comfortable and perfectly located to enjoy all that Point Pleasant Beach has to offer. Our host, Jim, was early accessible before and during our stay. We will be back again.

Ideal Spot for 3 Family Vacation

Jim Schaefer the host could not have been a more welcoming and responsive host. The house is actually two connected units in one and it worked out wonderfully for ourselves, adult children and grandchildren. With 9 of us ranging in age from seniors to toddlers, we had plenty of room to spread out and also have time together at the kitchen table which easily sat all of us. We took advantage of only being a few blocks from the boardwalk and beach, and enjoyed the heated pool when the weather cooperated. All in all, it was a great choice and we would highly recommend the property and Jim as host.

Great stay for our large family getaway

Siblings Retreat

The property was in walking distance to the boardwalk and beach. Excellent location for our yearly Siblings Retreat. The Host was very accommodating with our needs and made our stay very comfortable. Would recommend.

Perfect place for our retreat

I planned a retreat with friends for the weekend, and this was the perfect location even during the off season. Jim was a great host and responded quickly whenever we had questions. Great experience for everyone!

Great property, communicative owner

Great property for our large (20 people) family. Many well furnished bedrooms. Great rooms for children on 3rd floor. Close to attractions (walkable to some). Wonderful restaurants in the area. The owner is most helpful and had really good suggestions for us, We stayed here for 3 days after Christmas 2024.

Great property for a large family get together!

We enjoyed our stay and the kids had a blast. Ideal location to enjoy the beach, boardwalk, and neighborhood playground. Host was very accommodating and easily reached. We had a few glitches early in our stay, but they were quickly rectified. We’d definitely stay again.

Family vacation

The property was perfect for our mixed-ages group of 11. Kitchens & bathrooms were more than sufficient. The "livingrooms" & bedrooms were very comfortable TWe enjoyed the outdoor spaces & pool & the proximity to the beach. IThe grounds were nicely landscaped.. It was a wondferful time!

We (Jim & Karla) lived in northern NJ and did day trips for many years, as a family of 5, hotels never really worked for us at the shore. It is important to us to provide for others what we looked for ourselves in a vacation rental.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

We bought this property because of the location & what it has to offer. 9 bedroom home! We can fit everyone! The home is well maintained & was a great fit for us. So many homes we looked at are outdated, small rooms, or just damaged from Sandy. You could not even tell that Sandy hit this area from the looks of this home!
Since, 2020, we now only rent the home in the summer as the full house. We enjoy seeing the family celebrations arrive each week. It is the same reason why we bought this home. We now live just 3 houses away from this home & we focus on everyone's stay each week. For the 2021 will be our 8th year of renting out this house to families.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Just far enough from the beach (in a residential neighborhood) to avoid the noise and chaos of the Boardwalk rides, yet close enough to roll out of bed in the morning and be walking on the beach in 5 minutes! House sleeps 18 guests!!! Also we now have 8 seasons of experience as owners to ensure each group is happy with their stay.
