A beautiful apartment in a convenient location. It has a balcony overlooking gardens which is wonderful in the evenings for relaxation. I stayed for two months and would happily stay again when I return to Paris.
A GREAT APARTMENT IN A GREAT AREA
I spent a great week at this apartment. The elevating bed is clever and it leaves a lot of room for daytime activities. The 15th arrondissement is a nice area with shops and lots of activity. The "concierge" was very helpful and accommodating.
Forget hotel rooms, this is what you need!
Perfectly located and equipped studio close to the Seine river and Eiffel tower in a very nice building.
Great view on Paris roofs from the sunny balcony on the 9th floor.
Metro and bus station around the corner, as well as Beaugrenelle shopping mall, grocery stores and restaurants.
Owner very friendly and helpful, this is much better than a hotel, like your home in Paris.
Lovely city, lovely studio!
My stay in Paris was even more pleasant because of Johno`s studio! Great location, nice quiet building, and an "at home" atmosphere that does not make you feel like you are far away from home! Loved reading on the comfy armchair, loved the idea of the pull down bed, loved having my morning croissant on the intimate balcony while admiring the building`s roof garden, loved the whole place! In my opinion this studio is ideal for both short and long stays, since you have here everything you need: a well equipped kitchen, fridge, coffee machine, etc etc. Not to mention the delicious things you can buy at the bakery across the street! I had spent a lovely time here, thank you Johno for your kind hospitality! Next time I am in Paris, I already know where to stay!
Fun Studio, Loved location.... but disappointed
We loved where the studio was located as it was convenient to the metro, restaurants, groceries, patisseries, cafes, etc. The neighborhood was lovely, and the apartment came equipped with everything we needed except for a working stovetop/oven. This was a BIG disappointment, and a cause of us having to spend a lot of extra money. Our whole reason for getting an apartment was to be able to save a little money by having a lot of our meals in - looking out over the rooftops of Paris. We assumed that everything was in working order, so our first night we went out and bought our groceries for the week. Night #1 nothing worked. We asked one of Johno's neighbors to help us thinking that since we were American, we were dealing w/ an unknown appliance and maybe needed a few pointers. She was wonderful and spent about 10 min. on top of the 20 that we had put in trying to get it to work. No luck. We ended up going to a restaurant. Night #2, we asked the landlady if she could help us. No luck again. She is very nice but speaks very little English. Our French isn't the best either so it was an interesting game of charades. She said she would put a call in to Johno. No response. the next day, we again had all our meals out. The scenerio just repeated itself for the rest of the week with various other people trying to help us to get the stove working. Ergo, we spent about $250 American on food that we ended up giving away to the landlady when we left, because we were unable to cook it. Long story short... We ended up spending more money than if we had gotten a hotel room. Not only did we have to eat every meal out, we also lost out on the food that we bought. At least in a hotel, we would probably have gotten a free continental breakfast. If it hadn't been for that, we would have given this an "excellent" rating. The area is very safe, you have a partial view of the Eiffel Tower, it is quiet, the people are wonderful and we would love to go back again. Next time though... a working stove. :)
In response: we are very sorry for any confusion caused.
The stove top is actually brand new and is a very modern "Heat Induction System". What this means is the heat is transferred by direct induction into the pan or casserole transforming it into the actual burner itself. It is very safe, and very efficient. But for someone not used to this in can be confusing, because the cook-top only functions when the pan is places on the cook-top burner, and when you remove it, it stops immediately. There is a notice under the cook-top that explains this, but I believe it was missed. Due to this comment, I will update the apartment book to explain this, as the old cook-top was a basic gas unit "Dangerous" . Therefor we will update the info booklet for future reference.
Very Satisfied Travelers!
This was absolutely one of our favorite vacations and being able to rent the studio made this possible. The apartment was much larger than we envisioned and had all the amenities of home. The location allowed us to get around the city with ease utilizing the metro or bus line or simply walking. We had the pleasure of meeting Johno, the owner, during our stay. He was a great resource for getting around the city. We hope to make this one of our regular vacation spots!
Perfect little home away from home to visit Paris or working/visiting conventions at Porte de Versailles.
