About Doreen Pavlik
We purchased this property in 2003 as an interim destination until, and while, we built our waterfront dream cabin in 2013 nearby. We loved every minute of our stay in this little rustic cabin. We purchased waterfront in 1994 with the dream of building on it, but until that was possible, we enjoyed this little cabin. We have developed a love for the beauty and rustic feel of the UP. This little cabin has the feel of waterfront, the smell of waterfront, the sound of waterfront, and a partial view like waterfront....but just a short walk across the street to the public access. It's our joy to offer a stay for your relaxation and break from the media saturated world around you and retreat to a slower pace, with campfires, beach walks, hiking, swimming and many fun filled day trips.

Why Doreen Pavlik chose Brimley
This property is a break from the fast pace media saturated world. No in house internet access, but locally available, no cable TV, limited local stations with a VHS video player, totally "old school" complete with a selection of movies. It's our hope that our guests will be so busy enjoying the outdoor beauty, day trips and playing games with family that media won't be necessary except for a nice cup of coffee at the Dancing Crane Coffee Shop to "check up" on your Facebook or emails with their free WiFi access just 3 miles down Lakeshore Dr. The smell of real firewood burning in the woodstove touches off the rustic ambiance of those cool UP evenings or a campfire with marshmellows roasting or hot dogs lightly charred!
What makes this Cabin unique
Watching freighters passing on their way through to the Soo Locks and on to the St.Lawrence Seaway. Breathtaking sunsets and beautiful "public" beach that only the locals know about right across the street, long walks on the beach and the beautiful vintage Point Iroquois Lighthouse just a short walk down the beach is a destination in itself.

Overall we really enjoyed the cabin. The cabin was quite adequate and met all our needs. The only problem was a new mattress is needed for the double bed and availability of WI-Fi on the premises would have added to the experience.
Rustic and cozy with the perfect balance of modern comforts
We greatly enjoyed our stay in Brimley at this charming cabin! It was rustic and cozy, but still provided comfort and warmth. We used the kitchen to cook our own meals many times. Very convenient and fun! We also took advantage of the two-minute walk to the beach as many times as we could. We saw a total of no more than 10 people on the beach during our entire stay. Doreen provided a lot of help and clear instructions on the fridge and kitchen table. We would recommend staying at this cabin to anyone who wants a cozy, comfortable, and quiet Lake Superior experience.
Lake Superior getaway
I really enjoyed my stay on Lake Superior near where I first stayed in 1956. The cabin was very well stocked with everything I needed. The beach access was very nice and we enjoyed sitting on the metal benches on the edge of the beach. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable, the bed in the alcove less so. The furniture is low so it was hard to see the lake when sitting down. The cabin is also very close to the road which gets a fair amount of traffic in the day but almost none at night.
Perfect location to the Eastern side of the UP
The cabin was perfect for our family of 4. Had everything we needed for our excursion "Up North!" Having the lake and such a beautiful beach across the street was such an added benefit to the rental. Doreen was available to answer all our questions and ensured the cabin was well stocked with items needed for our stay. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone vacationing in the UP.
Clean and great location!
The cabin was just as described. Clean and neat and rustic. This is a great jumping off point to see many sights. Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, Soo Locks are all 2 hrs or less from this location. The beach across the street was amazing. We felt as if we had it to ourselves.
The main bedroom mattress and the couch could use an upgrade. That aside, we would definitely stay again.
Rustic and very comfortable.
The cottage was just as described. The place was a perfect place to stay while exploring the UP.
