San Antonio Carriage House sits off the road on seven acres in the Texas hill country. The 1929 limestone cottage is a reclaimed barn with the original sliding doors affixed to the outside. Inside the spacious open area, you'll find an exposed limestone wall and concrete floors. The round window in the front has a unique architectural design of cut limestone. The seating area features a unique niche in the wall that looks like a fireplace mantel. The oversized bathroom/dressing room features a glass, walk-in shower with a rainfall shower head and a towel warmer. Every window in the cottage has a woodland view of trees, wildlife or horses. The front porch, with comfortable chairs, is a great spot for greeting the morning with a cup of coffee and pastries. Around the back of the Carriage House is a place to sit with a glass of tea or wine and enjoy the hill country views. Down by the old rock wall there is a fire pit so you can roast marshmallows or make s'mores. You can say hello to our concierge ponies, Jack and Starbuck, and perhaps offer them a piece of apple through the fence.
Local-flavor restaurants include El Chaparral, Grey Moss Inn and La Hacienda. There are food trucks and live music just a mile down the road at Dino's & Gino's Liquors.
