Our property is located in the heart of Monteverde. Three kilometers from the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Walking distance from the Curicancha Reserves and the Children's Eternal Forest. Dozens of restaurants, cafes and shops around.

The Space

Private and safe family friendly environment for all. Divided into:

* 5 new, modern deluxe rooms with King, Queen, or twin beds, each with a private bathroom, let us know what configuration works best for you, we can arrange different setups. We love the floor to ceiling windows with sliding doors for welcoming the morning sun!. All the rooms are built in a module, with total visibility of everything that happens in the garden and surrounding forests. You can sit and enjoy coffee while your children run and play in total safety.

* "Cuatro Vientos" (The Four Winds) is a common social area for the enjoyment of all guests in the middle of the property. It offers a Full kitchen:refrigerator + freezer, stove, coffee maker, full cup, and cookware - everything for a family dinner. It’s a large living room with comfy seating.

High speed internet throughout the property. you decide where to take the call: in the room, in the hammock, on the sofa or in the garden!

We have lush gardens with lots of sunlight and shade. We recommend enjoying the sunsets and plan to see the stars at night - a complete show away from the city. Take a nap in a hammock, enjoy the sound of the wind or run with the children chasing a kite ... Most guests wake up early in the morning to take a mini walk around our hidden wonders in the garden.

What we enjoy the most: campfire (marshmallows!), Tree house (birding station) and barbecue area.

Guest Access

Our property is located on the main road of Monteverde, fully paved until our entrance, therefore, you can visit us with any type of vehicle.

Inside the property there is a available parking space for 5 cars.

During your stay, you can use the independent entrance to walk in and out and thus visit everything around, such as cafes, ice cream parlors, restaurants, supermarkets and the different forests and nature reserves. We can gladly recommend you about possible plans to do.

The neighborhood

We believe we have the best location in all of Monteverde! Within walking distance there are many attractions and things to enjoy:
* We are surrounded by the cloud forest, protected by several Natural Reserves, all within walking access.
* The Monteverde products factory, has a delicious ice cream parlor and store with several of its specialty products such as different types of cheeses. Mandatory stop.
* There are several cafes around us, in particular we like Cafe Monteverde, produced here in the area. Amazing pastries at Stellas Bakery across the street.
* Next to our property is CASEM, the Cooperativa de Artesanas de Santa Elena y Monteverde, is a non-profit artisan cooperative dedicated to enhancing the economic and social well-being of local women artists. They have a store, workshop and restaurant.
* Zuccaro, its a delicious bakery & coffee shop. It’s so close, that we can even smell the freshly baked bread every morning!.
* There is also a small supermarket that offers a great variety of organic, vegetarian, natural and other type of products.
* The Bat Jungle its a very educational and entertaining tour with live bats free-flying in a huge enclosure mimicing a cave. Mandatory stop afterwards to Cafe Cabure (3er floor same building) for a hot chocolate.
* Tramonti is close by, and it is one of the most well-known italian restaurants in the area for fine dining.

Monteverde is well known as a scientific research community focused on sustainable living, there is always something new to discover here!

Monteverde is a very quiet community. Most people get around by Walking, Taxi, Car and Busses. All the tours and tourists spots are prepared with enough parking space. Looking forward to hosting you!

Great stay in Monteverde

We had some trouble finding the place when we arrived after sunset. I think more can be done to help guest find this rather obscure spot faster when they arrive.Other than that, the hosts were very cordial, the room was comfortable, and the grounds were idyllic.

Amazing Place in Monteverde

We LOVED our stay here! We were 9 total (4 adults, 5 kids ranging from 9-15). The property is beautiful, the rooms are clean, location is great, but the best part is the hosts! They are amazing! They helped us with reservations, recommendations and even laundry during the holiday week. We would definitely stay again! Great memories made here, thank you again!!!

Idyllic setting

We spent a wonderful two nights in this property. Whilst a slightly unusual set up, everyone appreciated having their own space. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds were some of the comfiest we have come across in a vacation home. We enjoyed excellent breakfasts from Stella’s and had a nice meal at the local Italian restaurant (also within walking distance) The cloud forest is a 5 minute drive and we also did a night safari at the Monteverde Reserve, but we also enjoyed spotting birds, coati and agouti exploring the wonderful garden

Amazing nature!

This property was stunning! We saw so many birds from the yard! Agoutis roam around, and white faced monkeys visited in the trees and put on a show for us two days in a row. It was truly spectacular. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating for our large group, and great at giving recommendations of things to do and where to eat.

Loved our experience

Fantastic property in an excellent location in monteverde. The property was spacious and the grounds were beautiful. It worked very well for our large family that included kids and grandparents. We saw monkeys and birds while relaxing outside. Several bakeries are located within a 5 min walk. The location was a very short drive to several of the rainforest reserves and restaurants we went to. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful place in an amazing location!!

We loved this property! The wildlife on the property-birds, agoutis, monkeys passing through was incredible. The housing was fabulous and the central area cozy and quaint. We had a large party of 12-3 families. We loved hanging out on this property and walking to the Co-op, cafe, and market. There were plenty of places to go within walking distance and we loved the proximity to the parks and to dining. We all wish we could have stayed at this location a bit longer. Thank you for allowing us to share this beautiful villa!

Family vacation

Everything was perfect at Adolfo’s place. Communication was quick and easy. The place was exactly as described. We each had our own rooms and a shared kitchen. Our host and hostess were available for questions and suggestions. You can walk across the street for great coffee and breakfast at Stella’s. Monkeys joined us if we were early enough. Tramico’s waS great for dinner. We would definitely stay there again.

Regina and Israel were great hosts

Yerba Buena is a great location in Monteverde. Just a couple of minutes into the main town, this compound has many bedrooms and a central kitchen/lounging area. Very quiet and secluded with lots of green space for kids to play. Right in the middle of all of the attractions. Regina made all the reservations we needed and she and Isreal were a wealth of information. If you like to cook, then I would say the kitchens were a bit of a challenge but for the basics and breakfast they were fine. There are two restaurants right next door so food is not an issue. We would stay with them again and we recommend them highly.

Excellent Stay

This location was perfect in every way for our family of eight adults and two children. Communication prior to arrival in Costa Rica was excellent and very responsive. Adolfo arranged a private tour guide for us in the Cloud Forest Preserve which was amazing. Samuel has been guiding groups through the Cloud Forest for many years. It was wonderful to see the Forest through his eyes. She also had several excellent recommendations for places to eat and things to do. The location was within walking distance of several excellent restaurants and a mini market, yet it seemed we were in the middle of the forest at the Villa. There were sightings of toucan, parrots, white-faced capuchin and parrots from the property. Gabriel was a pleasant and attentive host without being intrusive. Thank you for making our time in Monteverde memorable.

Comfortable and Convenient setting in beautiful Monteverde!!!

My extended family stayed in two of the Yerba Buena cabins offered by this owner from Dec. 27th thru 30th, 2013. The cabins were both very clean, comfortable, and well-mainted offering many amenities. Our pre-teen and teenage children loved exploring the grounds and talking with the owners. Regina and Saul were both so helpful in recommending restaurants and making our reservations as well as making reservations for all the tours we went on-Cloud Forest Reserve hike, Night hike, Selvatura Zip Lining, & El Trapiche coffee plantation tour. They also set us up with private guides for the Cloud Forest Reserve and a night hike, which made both experiences much more worthwhile. We enjoyed eating lunch and a breakfast at Stella's and lunch at CASEM, as well as dinner at Tramanti, all within walking distance of Yerbabuena. Also recommended was Trio in the town of St. Elena, also very good. Also a benefit to Yerbabuena is the grocery store within walking distance. I would highly recommend this property for rental in the Monteverde, Costa Rica area!

Incredible!

Best place I could imagine staying for our trip to Monteverde! This property is walking distance to coffee shops, small supermarket and restaurants, and a long hilly walk, or short drive to a larger city center with large supermarkets, tons of restaurants, and souvenir shops. We loved the quiet location with a private yard and enclosed group gathering room separate from the private sleeping quarters. Our group was three couples and two 13 year old girls. Each pair had their own private room with bathroom, and we could meet for meals in the separate building. Monkeys came through the trees on the property, and the Agoutis are regular guests (think large harmless guinea pig)! Lots of beautiful birds including toucans. The property is meticulously maintained! There's an awesome treehouse on the property. The gate provides for private off-road parking, though a 4WD vehicle is a must not only for the roads leading to Monteverde, but for the highly banked driveway entering the property. You will not find a more relaxing and perfectly suited location for a family or group of friends visiting this area! The hosts are incredibly gracious and more than happy to help ensure a perfect vacation!

Monteverde Paradise

We had the most wonderful time in Monteverde. Adolfo’s communication leading up to our trip was excellent and he answered all questions promptly. The emails we exchanged were very helpful and he was accommodating with our late arrival and special request for the day we checked out. Adolfo’s property was exactly what we had hoped it would be and more! Upon arrival we were greeted by Adolfo’s lovely mother, Regina who showed us around the property, answered all our questions, and gave us recommendations of things to do in the area. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the kids loved playing soccer on the grassy lawn, playing in the treehouse, and in the morning we woke up to find monkeys in the trees. The rooms and bathrooms were large and comfortable with huge windows overlooking the lush grounds. We had a group of eight-four kids, four adults, but the property could easily accommodate larger groups and would be the perfect spot for a multi-family vacation. The location was perfect. Our airline messed up our flights so we had to cut our time in Monteverde short, but thanks to being so close to everything we were still able to do a cloud forest reserve tour, night hike, zip lining, and the hanging bridges during our short stay. Everyone in our party agreed that if we could do the trip again we would stay at this property in Monteverde longer and do less time at the beach. We were all sad to leave, but hope to return another time Thank you, Adolfo and Regina! We’ll be back!

Wonderful Oasis in the Green Mountains!

We stayed at Yerba Buena for a month in January/February and it was a perfect place. Our very comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin gave us space to stretch out, cook meals and a great queen bed complete with an electric blanket in case the evenings got chilly. Our hosts couldn't have been more accommodating and welcoming. From arranging our dinner reservations the first night, driving us into town for a big grocery shop, to arranging tours and guides, they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful,affording an oasis off the streets of Monte Verde to stroll, picnic and watch the exotic birds. We did not have a car and at first wondered if we were too far from town but with three excellent restaurants within a 5 minute walk - Tramonte, Stella's Bakery and Cabure- plus a small grocery store and coffee bar we never felt isolated or in lack of something. Did I forget to mention easy walking distance to two private reserves and the cheese/ice cream factory? The location provided access to the town of St. Elena, CPI Language Institute and the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and a host of activities whether you want to zipline through the treetops, see the elusive Quetzal (we saw them twice!), grab a chai tea latte or hike through beautiful rain forest trails. We would highly recommend Yerba Buena whether you are a couple or a large family or group - the grounds can accommodate either scenario. So much nicer than being cooped up in a small hotel room especially if you are planning to stay for a couple of days. We will be back- this time we are thinking of bringing our entire extended family.

Location, location, location

This vacation rental really MADE our holiday in Monteverde - just sitting on the deck, sipping wine, marvelling at the beautiful scenery on site and watching the wildlife, we felt like we could have never left the grounds and still had a wonderful, memorable trip. The grounds are extensive, filled with ferns, hydrangeas and bromeliads with a wide open lawn that the kids had a great time playing on and surrounded by tiny hiking paths that they could explore all on their own like grown up adventurers. We saw parakeets, motmots, squirrels and agoutis on the lawn and in the (sour) orange trees without having to leave our deck. We felt so incredibly cared for, both by the hosts, who were staying on the grounds in their own cabin and by the wonderful caretaker and housekeeper who bent over backwards to help us with everything. Our hosts spent hours looking after our travel arrangements in the months prior to our trip, we really were made to feel like family. The cabin (#3) was well stocked and my husband still raves about the comfort of the bed when we talk about our trip. Even with all those advantages however, it is the location that is arguably the best feature of this rental. We spent our 5 days in Monteverde without a vehicle with no difficulty, thanks to the small plaza next door and the fact that most tours include transportation (pick up and drop off). We walked 10 minutes to the Curi Cancha reserve (and saw sloths!), Monteverde Cheese and Ice Cream Store and Factory and 5 minutes to the Bajo del Tigre Reserve, Bat Jungle, Cabure Chocolate shop and tour. Next door to the property (outside the stone walls) is a small town square type area with animal statues the kids could play on while the non supervising adults visited the bakery (I can still imagine the fresh croissants we walked over and picked up each morning), coffee shop (with free coffee tastings to compare light-medium-dark and honey roasts), Italian restaurant, Argentinian restaurant, local Costa Rican restaurant, yoga studio, small organic and locally grown food market and the local women's cooperative/gift shop carrying local home made souvenirs like felted animals, music and jewellery. It is a hidden gem, run by extraordinarily generous people. Enjoy your time there (:

Regina and Israel are wonderful hosts! It's a huge lovely property. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. My only wish was for them to have screens on their big amazing sliding glass doors that open up onto the garden.

Our family is originally from San Jose. For several years, we visited Monteverde and dreamed with having our own piece of heaven in the Costa Rican cloud forest. In 2007, we bought this property and in 2008 we built our first cabin. More than 10 years later - this place has transformed our lives and continues to inspire visitors.

Why they chose this property

We have almost one hectare (aprox 2.47 acres) of garden.
Our house has several features that distinguish this property from any other in the Monteverde area. We offer unique upgraded suites with an amazing view of the property. This is an example of ecoturism at it's best. The property is located within walking distance of several restaurants, coffee shops, museums and the local cheese factory. We are located 5 minutes away from the main town (Santa Elena) where you can find a large variety of restaurants, gas station, banks, etc. We are also located 5 mins away from the Monteverde Cloud Forest National Park. This is by far the best private property available for rental in the area.
