Thank you for your feedback, Mike, Kate and family. We’re truly sorry to hear that parts of your experience didn’t meet your expectations. Regarding the smell you mentioned, we’d like to clarify for future guests that the home does not have a musty odor due to moisture — in fact, we have a high-capacity dehumidifier running in the house. What you may have noticed is the natural scent of the wood, as the home is 100% wooden, which is part of the charm and character of the space. As for the scorpions: while we fumigate regularly and take all necessary precautions, we are located in the heart of nature, where sightings of insects or small creatures are sometimes inevitable — especially in a tropical environment. That said, we try to respond as quickly as possible and offered a free re-cleaning of the house at no cost, but the family kindly declined. We deeply value our guests’ comfort and are always available to help with anything during a stay. Thank you again for staying with us, and we wish you all the best on your future travels.
