About the property

Original Farmhouse accommodation with all modern equipment

La Ferme de Boyer combines the ultimate in French lifestyle with traditional country house comfort. Stay in the original farmhouse, with the possibility of occasional dinners prepared by Harriet, who is a Cordon Bleu-trained cook.

The farmhouse, built in 1790, is typical of the country houses here in the beautiful rolling landscape of the Ariège in the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region. You will be awed by the beauty of this special place as you drive up the tree-lined entrance and park under the stately shade trees.

There is a a delightful Swimming Pool (8m x 4m) set in our large garden with plenty of shade, and woodland walks with stunning views of the Pyrénées.

Ferme Boyer is situated 3 Kms west of Mirepoix, a lovely relaxed southern medieval town, which comes to life on market days and has a choice of shops, including an excellent supermarket and several cafés and restaurants in all prices categories.

The arcaded main market square, surrounded by timbered 13th century houses, also has country antiques and pottery shops. And the cathedral boasts one of the largest naves in all of Europe.

The farmhouse has 2 large bedrooms with very comfortable beds and crisp linens, both equipped with hairdryers and minibar. The Red Room has a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, WC and hand basin. The twin-bedded room (which can be arranged as a double) has en-suite shower, WC and hand basin

Welcome pack with home-made jams and local wine is included.

Just as imagined

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful and relaxing week at La Ferme Boyer and we wished we could have stayed for at least another one. The house and the grounds are beautiful and spacious, the pool is great, and our host very welcoming, gracious and charming. All of this in the midst of a beautiful landscape with the Pyrénées as a backdrop and awesome castle ruins everywhere. We went on exciting day trips to interesting destinations - Carcassone, the Pyrénées, Monségur, even Spain (the Dalí Museum is ony about 1 1/2 hrs away), but also just stayed "home" to relax. Mirepoix itself is a lovely medieval little town. And the best thing about all of this was that in addition it was, even in one of the busiest weeks during the summer, not crowded (except Carcassone). One night we had the table d'hôtes dinner, which was delicous and convivial and highly recommended. We hope to be able to return soon!!

Beautiful Farmhouse near Mirepoix

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 3 and stayed in the Gite - we wanted a base so we could explore the surrounding area or relax by the pool if we felt like it - La Ferme De Boyer was perfect for us. Harriet was fabulous making sure our stay was as comfortable as possible - we also tried her fabulous cooking a couple of times. Our little girl (5) had a wonderful time running around the garden and playing in the pool which was beautiful. There was plenty of wildlife and some lovely walks - what an amazing place - would return in a heartbeat (actually did not want to leave).

Wonderful farmhouse in the south of France

  • 5 of 5

Six of us spent time at La Ferme Boyer. Four of us stayed a week in the gite and 2 more friends spent a few days at the B&B that Harriet and Robert run. We all loved the beautifully remodeled farm and its setting. Not only did we visit the region rich in markets, medieval castles, wall-painted caves, and hikes in the Pyrenees but we also took time to relax and to bask in the sunny countryside - leisurely breakfasts in the garden, reading by the pool, bird watching and listening. The garden in full bloom was a haven for songbirds. So many different birds that we recorded their melody. And now I can listen to them when I have the blues or if I simply need to be transported back to summer in Ariège.

Finally, La Ferme Boyer would not be as welcoming and as comfortable without our hosts' thoughtfulness toward every aspect of our stay. Harriet spoiled us with delicious meals at the "the table d'hôtes" and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner conversations with her and Robert.

Thank you Harriet and Robert! We'll be back.

A fine farmhouse stay

  • 5 of 5

Four of us (two couples in their 60's) spent four nights at La Ferme Boyer last week and had an excellent stay. Our two-bedroom gite was large, clean and well-furnished. But the best elements of the stay were our hosts, Harriet and Robert. We engaged Harriet to prepare a sumptuous dinner our first night and it exceeded expectations, so much so that we begged her (successfully) to prepare a second dinner on our final night. Both meals were as good or better than any we enjoyed during our three weeks in France. The meals were made even more pleasant by entertaining conversation with both of them. On the evening of our arrival, I told Robert I knew little of the area but knew I wanted to see 3-4 specific things (Carcassone, Montsegur and Niaux Cave, etc.) and asked for suggestions to fill up the three full days we would be spending there. The next morning, he presented me with a suggested three-day itinerary, complete with maps, brochures and driving times, that covered everything I intended to see, plus several other fascinating sites (among others, be sure to make a quick visit to Lagarde). These are great hosts.

Beautiful Farm Home in Southern France

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect place to stay if you are in the southwest region of France. The farm home is lovely and the owners are just a delight. We were so impressed with our hosts

The 2 bedroom gite was just perfect, beds were very comfortable and the linens were heavenly. The bedrooms were bright and extra large with a private bath for each.

The home was just a delight for our holiday. Thank you again for being accommodating about our special diets, and for going out of your way to find the food and drink that we enjoy and appreciate your thoughtfulness. Our highlight of the stay was having a fun evening with the host for dinner and time spent together.

We would love to return and highly recommend this home.

Wonderful peaceful 4 night stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and my brother and his wife had a lovely 4 day stay in the 2 bedroom apartment on the farm! Robert and Harriet were delightful hosts, helping us with sight seeing decisions, restaurant recommendations and just making us feel like we'd known them forever. The highlight was dinner in their home on our last evening. The food was excellent. So was the wine. The house was originally built in the 1700's and Robert has restored it superbly. The brand new dishwahser and state of the art oven is juxtaposed with the 200+ year old wooden beams running across the ceiling. We loved it. We highly recommend a stay with them! Thanks again, Harriet and Robert!
