Very good relaxing apartment

Pula is a very good location because it is an interesting city combined with a nice beach and very clear water. Enjoy the roman buildings, the food market and good shopping facilities. The appartment matched the description very good, was very clean and well-maintained. Rent a pedal-boat and go to one of the small islands next to the beach and enjoy the crystal clear water and relax without to many turists around you. The terrace is a perfect spot for enjoing the view, reading books and eating together. You can find restaurents in every price class and get very good sea food. Further we got a first class service when we arrived and during our stay. Therefore we can only give our best recommendations to this Appartment.

Half way to heaven

Perfect apartement for exploring the Istria region. The huge terrace is absolutely wonderful! A perfect spot for breakfast in the morning with a clear view of all the activities on the Adriatic Sea, and relaxing with a glass of Rosé watching the sun settle in the cool evening. The immidate surroundings had all the basics we needed. A local rocky coastline with exciting snorcling opportunites sufficed for the day and restaurant in all price classes for evening activities By renting a bike we got to Pula and other very nice beaches nearby. With a car the whole Istria with it's blend of Italian and Croatian culture was within half a days reach. We would recommend this apartement for an active vacation where the base has to be comfortable, or just for staying at the terrace reading, sunbathing and really get down into idle mode.

Het verblijf was top en lekker dichtbij voor naar het strand. Balkon met mooie uitzicht op het water. Wel veel trappen lopen voor naar de ingang appartement . En het parkeren was lastig Verder prima omgeving .

Heerlijke vakantie

Prima appartement met mooi uitzicht. Strand op loopafstand. Met de auto kun je mooie stadjes bezoeken in de buurt. Let wel op dat je veel trappen moet lopen dus niet geschikt voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn of met hele kleine kinderen/kinderwagen.

Rymlig lägenhet med fin utsikt

Vi (två vuxna och två barn , 11 och 13 år) bodde här sex nätter i Juli och hade det jättebra. Lägenheten ligger på en höjd med fin utsikt över viken med småbåtshamn och en liten strand. Lägenheten är väldigt rymlig med en stor balkong med matbord och solsängar. Välutrustat kök med bra gasspis så man kan utan problem lag mat. Det tar ca 5 min att gå ner till stranden, ganska backigt dock.

Lovely place to stay for family holiday

We had a great time relaxing here. The apartment is comfortable and spacious and has everything you could need. The area is beautiful and we loved walking down to skusa bar to eat most evenings. Recommend hiring a car to make the most of the area. Our highlight was the sunset paddleboard trip on the last evening . Will definitely be returning to explore more of Croatia.

Very nice place to stay!!!

We were there for two weeks in August. Pjescana Uvala is a nice small quiet village next to Pula, just perfect to stay because its not so crowded. The breakfast every morning on the big terrace with the amazing view was always a highlight. The flat has absolutely everything you need! Highly recommended!

Fantastic Apartment near Pula

We (Family with two kids) have been in Croatia for several times, but we never had such a nice and spacious apartment. The apartment is "as descripted" -> really! It is very well equipped and had everything we needed. Highlights: free WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, TV, DVD, ... An absolute highlight is the big terrace (direction to the south) were you can enjoy the sunset and the wonderful view down to the nice bay of Pjescana Uvala. One hint from our side: you have to consider that you have to climb stairs - just in case of older people or young children, but therefore the apartment is really secure and calm. We absolutely would like to recommend this apartment and if we plan to visit Pjescana Uvala/ Pula again, we will come back to Josie's apartment - of course.

Fantastic holidays in a perfect apartment

We spent our summer holidays in Josie’s apartment from 24/08/2013 till 07/09/2013. The expectations of our family (parents with two daughters – 13 and 11 years old) were met. The apartment is as lovely and comfortable as described by the other commentators and as mentioned in this web page. You miss nothing, everything is available. The huge terrace was awesome and we loved to watch the sundown every evening. Walking 5 minutes and you are at the main beach of Pjescana Uvala, which is a gravel beach. As you have to climb many stairs you should be in good health. Mostly we walked to the left side of the coast where you find a cliffy beach. The water is absolutely clear and you can see fishes and sea urchins. We saw two big jellyfishes. As they were big enough you couldn’t overlook them and have the possibility to flee. But we liked to drive to other beaches, too: umbrella beach in Verudela, family beach in Fazana, the stretched beach of Medulin and the lovely Centinera beach in the near of Banjole. You should also visit Kap Kamenjak with its beautiful natural bays. You pay 35 Kunas a day and it is worth money. We booked a boat trip to Brijuni-islands at the harbour of Pula. It’s a half-day excursion and you get a guided tour in your first language. At the island you do a small safari tour and visit some museums, too. We visited several towns and villages in the near: Rovinj is a very nice place, but step gently because of the slippery cobblestones. Porec is an awesome town with its Euphrasia Basilika that belongs to the world cultural heritage. In Pula, you can see many old ruins and the formidable amphi-theatre. We liked to stroll through the town and absorbed many impressions of Istria. The weather in these two weeks was very good. In the first four nights we had storms, but the next day the sun shined. The temperature was mostly between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius. This was absolutely perfect for us. You could swim in the sea and visit places of interest without perspiration. You can buy food in two small markets in Pjescana Uvala or drive to Pula and go shopping in “Kaufland”, “Lidl” or “Rewe” and as Germans you almost feel at home. Several kinds of water sports are offered at many beaches/harbours. Our contact person Dave was very nice. He quickly replaced a broken sunshade and installed the television programme. If you decide to spend your holidays in Istria you make the right decision to book Josie’s apartment.

Farniete in Istria

It was our first time in Croatia/ Istria, a very beautiful and rich region. Josie described it all perfectly. Her home is well located, has all one could need and that view, I couldn't get enough of it! So nice to spend so much time outside, lots of space for us all in and out. Josie had great gastro guides that we used to visit 2 vineyards, Croatia has good wines, one has to look to it! We would be very happy to go back.

Really nice apartment near Pula

The apartment was fantastic, very spacious with a massive balcony which had lovely views. It was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We didn't hire a car so it was a nice to get a lift from the airport from the local agent Dave who was very friendly and helpful and gave us a lot of information on places to eat, things to do etc. There were about 4-5 restaurants all within walking distance and we tried them all at least once, all had really nice food. The beach is about 200m away and you can also hire bikes from either of the two tourist agencies in the village or hire a pedalo and explore some of the near-by islands. The bus into Pula is very easy to catch (15Kn) and we visited on a couple of occasions to see some of the Roman sites and the amphitheatre. I would definitely recommend this apartment, Thank you Josie for making our stay very enjoyable.

A Room With a View

We have just returned from spending two weeks holiday in this lovely apartment. As stated in previous reviews the terrace - with its wonderful views was enjoyed by all. We had breakfast there everyday , whilst watching the early morning activity on the water. The apartment was very well equipped and spacious. It was also amazingly private. The little local shop (5 mins walk away) sold lovely fresh bread and pastries. We ate in all of the local restaurants - even a new Mexican one and couldn't fault them. The Lanterna was our favourite, for a more special night out, but the prices were still very reasonable. We used the bus a few times to get into Pula even though we had a car, but if there are more than 2 of you it is just as cheap to ring for a taxi. Many thanks to Josie for allowing us to stay in this wonderful apartment.

Very nice apartment near Pula

We spent two weeks in July 2012 in this very nice and spacious apartment. We really enjoyed the time in Pjescana Uvala. The apartment is in a very good shape and very well equipped. One recognizes immediately that also the owners spent their holidays here. Pjescana Uvala is a nice holiday resort with some nice beaches near by. In walking distance of the apartment there are a few restaurant of which we like the Lanterna most for easting fresh fish. But also the other restaurants at the sea side offer good food for a reasonable price. Within one hour drive you can reach many nice places. We would in particular recommend to visit Rovinj with its beautiful old town, Labin, which is not that touristic and Kap Kamenjac for hiking in spring and autumn for swimming in summer. Overall, Istria is a great place for vacation and this apartment is a great location to stay in Istria.

Apartment as described in ad

I would definitely recommend this property. There was great communication from the owner from the beginning to end of booking. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable week. We enjoyed our meals on the balcony, the view was great with a variety of ships/boats in and out from dawn to dusk. The children enjoyed playing on the inflatables in the bay climbing on the iceberg and jumping off and also snorkelling. The information books and leaflets in the apartment on the local area were useful and Dave who collected us from the airport gave us a warm welcome and some local info too. We used ferries and buses to see some local towns and a neighbouring island and I would get a car next time to travel further afield. The village shop provided us with the basics and ice creams were good from the beach. Pula was interesting especially the amphitheatre, Thank you for making our stay very comfortable. We hope to return.

Fantastic apartment, great view, relaxing hol

Family of five (3 children aged 7,7,5), visiting 24th April to 1st May, 2010. The apartment was fantastic – a home from home. It is well equipped, spacious and comfortable and we quickly felt at home. We all slept comfortably (5yo slept well in the cot). The kids enjoyed the spacious living room and balcony, and we all loved the beautiful view. Being able to walk down to the pebbled beach was also great. Weather was wonderful throughout. Warm during the day (22 degrees C), though the kids got a little cold outside in the evening (14 degrees C) but OK with fleeces and trousers. Sea was still too cold to have fun swimming (circa 17 degrees C). We all had a great time. For outings, we enjoyed spending a few hours in/at: - Beach (pebbles) 200m away from apartment - Pula old town for (Roman Forum and enjoying a meal / ice cream there, & Roman amphitheatre) - Motovun, spent a few hours there, enjoyed the late afternoon views, as well as dinner. - Hired a small boat (just us, no driver) and travelled around the coast from Pjescana Uvala to Premantura / Medulin via the Porer lighthouse (circa 1200 Kuna for a full day). It was very relaxing. It would have been absolutely fantastic to drop anchor around a few different places and dive in but the water was still a little too cold. - Walked around Kamenjak peninsula. Kamenjak is a nature reserve. Next time, we’ll take the bikes with us, but you can also drive slowly down the tracks to the various beaches. - Enjoyed meals out We would recommend this apartment for: - an active vacation where the base has to be comfortable e.g. for visiting old towns in Istria, cycling, walking around area or Kamenjak - very relaxed idle time, e.g. enjoying the view, reading on the balcony, sunbathing Dave was great. Met us on time etc, gave us an intro to the area/appt & an excellent tip for a restaurant. Thanks for the apartment Josie.

Excellent value for money

This is a very well equipped apartment which meant that the cook amongst us could create great meals when we were too lazy to walk down the road to a restaurant - recommend Blenska by the way! Dave, the local support, was fantastic, a mine of info and help, especially when one of us was taken ill. We found lovely places to swim, the local supermarket produces surprisingly yummy bread for breakfast and although the car was a real advantage you could happily spend time doing things within walking distance. The stairs up to the apartment keep you fit and next door's cat is a charmer! We would happily recommend this apartment to our friends. Thank you!

Wij zijn 2 weken in dit app. geweest en waren hier erg tevreden over. Alles was aanwezig wat aangegeven was zoals, airco, afwasmachine, wasmachine, goede bedden en een perfect groot balkon met ligbedden en grandioos uitzicht op de zee, enz. enz. Het enige wat ons opviel was dat het niet zo nou genomen was met het schoonmaken. Er waren veel spinnenwebben en het verzetten van kastjes ed was al tijden niet gedaan. Pp. waren er 2 handdoeken voor een week en zo voor het oog was het schoon, misschien was het beter om een stofzuiger aan te schaffen, dan alleen een oude bezem. De vrouw van Dave (contact pers.) kwam na de eerste week schone handdoeken brengen en heeft ons toen ook meerdere gegeven. Daarnaast was er tv met alleen Kroatische zenders. (5 st.) Wat jammer was, is dat Pula niet gemakkelijk te voet te bereiken was vanuit Pjescana Uvala. Per voet is het ca. 30 minuten lopen via de grote haven om bij Pula te komen en dan moet je nog naar het centrum lopen, dus ben je wel altijd afhankelijk van een auto. Ook het even naar het strand toe gaan is zweten geblazen. Vanaf het app. is het 170 trap treden naar beneden en dus ook weer naar boven. Het stand is goed met een heerlijke douche waar je bedden en parasols kan huren, voor weinig. Aan het strand zijn 3 restaurantjes waar je kan eten. Het eten is wel erg lekker en goedkoop. Voor 5 personen (1 kind) betaalden wij ca. €55,= incl. drankjes. Grote supermarkt is er bij de haven en een erg kleine in Pjescana Uvala. Wil je meer zien dan kun je naar Fasana, Pula, Medulin, Rovinj of nog verder gaan. Wil je genieten van de natuur, zee, duiken, rotsen, dan kun je naar Kamenjak gaan. Voor €2,80 per auto, kun je de hele dag op verschillende kleine en grote rotsen/stranden liggen en je vermaken. Tevens zijn er verschillende barretjes waar je wat kan drinken en/of eten. Wij vonden ook dit jaar Kroatië weer een perfect vakantieland maar onze voorkeur gaat wel uit naar Dalmatië. Daar is het nog mooier en de kust nog ruwer dan Istrië, maar... Kroatië is en blijft een perfecte vakantie bestemming.

Splendid location, beautiful views

Wonderful location in a quiet area very close to the beach (only 5 minutes walking). The appartment's been fully equipped, very comfortable and spacious. The views from the large terrace were unforgettable. I would definitely go back there again. Not easy to find such a high quality accomodation in such panoramic location. I honestly recommend it to anybody who likes calm and sofisticated places.

Why they chose this property

Pjescana uvala is a great base for a holiday with 2 beaches, the marina closeby, many restaurants and cafes/bars within walking distance plus 2 supermarkets for your day to day essentials.
My spacious apartment (87m2) with 45m2 terrace is ideal to relax in full holiday mode, enjoying the art of la dolce far niente whilst enjoying the sparkling sea views and captivating sunsets.
I can highly recommend the Skuza bar restaurant for dining next to the sea and the Lanterna restaurant for more refined dining.
Closeby Boccaporta (5 minute drive) is also an excellent local tavern and well worth a visit.

What makes this property unique

I have been travelling around Istria for more than 20 years now and am still enchanted by the richness and magic of the region. It has so much to offer in terms of scenery, history and culture across land and sea. Beautiful coastline, lush green rolling hills inland and medieval hill top towns, olive groves and vineyards that produce world winning produce. And let’s not forget Istrian truffles, cheese and prsut!

Relaxing on the 45m2 terrace with a cold local wine whilst admiring the panorama is one of my favourite pleasures in life. I hope you will love it too.
