About William Graf
I have been working with architects and designers for most of my professional life. This has given me an appreciation for good design. My wife and I have lived in Seattle for more than 30 years and raised three girls We love this city and constantly revel in its beauty. Weather permitting, we enjoy entertaining on our 1956 Chris Craft.
William Graf purchased this Apartment in 1991
Why William Graf chose Eastlake and Portage Bay
We have always thought the Eastlake area (the east side of Lake Union) was desirable because it had close proximity to downtown, the lake and the University of Washington. We have owned this building for over 20 years and are now offering this unit for a short term rental. We think the location is outstanding and should provide travelers an excellent base for exploring.
What makes this Apartment unique
I have lived on a couple of houseboats in Seattle. The location of this apartment is a few blocks from that community. I enjoyed walking the docks and sitting on the waterfront, enjoying the activity on the lake. It is a truly unique experience, not approached anywhere else in the United States, possibly the world.

William's apartment was very conveniently located to where we wanted to be for the weekend and was as advertised - clean, comfortable and easily accessible. It was a great value and we would certainly stay here again.
Very nice...like a little home away from home!
This is the most comfortable, accommodating B&B at which I've stayed...ever! Every time
I needed something, I would look around and find it! I called the owner the evening I checked in because I couldn't get the cable television to work. He was very gracious and patient and showed me how to use the TV service. I was very comfortable during the week I stayed there. Since my daughter lives in a 600 sq ft apartment in Eastlake with 2 inquisitive cats, we decided to have our Thanksgiving dinner at the B&B! My daughter and I love to cook and the B&B was stocked with most all the kitchen utensils we needed. She only had to bring over a few baking dishes. She invited a couple of her friends for Thanksgiving and we had a great time. It was very helpful to have a washing machine and dryer and a full kitchen. I would definitely recommend this B&B to others.

Great location, Clean Apartment
We enjoyed our stay in Seattle. This apartment was great. It is in walking distance to many stores...Starbucks, Subway, Restaurants, a GREAT liquor store/market. The parking is not so great, but there is always the option to pay $5 for overnight parking at the end of the street over the Subway if you are unable to find a spot on the street. It is light years better than a hotel because of all the conveniences of home. The bed and linens are quality and comfortable. It may be time for a new coffee maker :) We would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
Great little condo
We spent three days in this condo in late August, 2017. As advertised, it is very clean and comfortable. Access from the Eastlake area to most parts of Seattle is convenient. (This is one downside to the unit -- it is immediately across the street from Interstate 5.). Eastlake is also a very walkable area with a lot of nice restaurants and views of Lake Union.
Enjoyed our stay
We really enjoyed our stay - even though we visited during a heat wave when fires filled the skies with smoke. The location was great for heading downtown to the art fair, ferries, museums and up to Fremont and Ballard and nearby Capitol Hill. The bus (70) was amazingly frequent! We enjoyed the Wooden Boat museum and lots of restaurants close by - especially little water Mexican restaurant and their great deck on the water. Unfortunately the renters upstairs - 2 different sets during our week stay - were freakishly noisy. Probably not a common occurrence. We used the fan and white noise apps to override, but wow! The kitchen was super well setup with all you need and the big table was great for laying out maps and planning. Two things to note: you are in a basement apartment with no fresh air. The owner was super responsive and helped us set up the rolling air conditioner and answered other questions. Parking was easy despite many construction projects eating up spaces. All in all it was a great visit.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with future travelers. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, but am sorry to hear about the noise upstairs. Unfortunately they happened to be the worst guests we have encountered in over 5 years of hosting and will not be returning.
The unit was clean and very well equipped.
I would have liked to have a better view. Unfortunately it was a basement flat. There were no insect screens on the windows which made us anxious about opening the windows to air the rooms. The kitchen and the furniture were really good. In the end, we were very happy to be there.
Half way between downtown and the University of Washington, this compact apartment is conveniently located a few blocks away from Lake Union. A delightful afternoon can be spent walking the famous Seattle houseboat docks and/or picnicking in one of the secluded public waterfront parks. Drive, walk or take convenient public transportation to the University of Washington, downtown, South Lake Union, Seattle Center or Pike Place Market.
