Madison's Retreat is the perfect place for your next family beach getaway! This unit is a short walk across the parking lot to the private beach access, and the community pool, and is in a prime location within walking distance of shops and restaurants! Your family will be coming back for years to come.

Madison’s Retreat is a 3-story townhome, with plenty of room to spend time together or to spread out when everyone wants their space! This unit has no shortage of character, featuring bright and colorful paintings on the walls that were down by family members themselves!
The first floor of the home features a bunk room with a twin-over full-sized bunk, a full bathroom, and access out to the back patio! As you make your way up to the second level, you will enter the open-concept main living area! The kitchen is fully stocked so you are able to cook delicious meals when you feel like staying in. There is also a balcony off the living room, where you can enjoy peek-a-boo gulf views, the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee.

The third floor of the home houses the two final bedrooms! The first is the master bedroom with a king-sized bed and a large private balcony! The second is a bedroom with a queen-sized bed. There is a shared bathroom in the hallway!

This place was perfect for us!

Easy access to the beach. Quiet location. Short morning walk to coffee (excellent coffee at Sunrise). Loved the furniture on the deck..spent a lot of time there reading. Will definitely return to this spot!!! And we couldn’t find our vitamins when we got home but got a call from the manager and she is shipping them to us!! Thank you!!

Quick Getaway

We enjoyed everything about our stay here! It was close enough to walk to several restaurants but just outside of the most crowded sections of the beach. The house is kitschy and fun. My favorite part was probably the balconies (plural!). I could sit out there for hours with a book listening to the waves. The shared pool/hot tub had an extra bonus of a deck over some brackish water where there were large freshwater turtles. I can definitely see staying here again next time I am in the area!

Great Condo- location,

Madison’s retreat is my favorite place to stay. I really enjoy going during off season to walk on the beach and sunrise and sunset over the ocean. Short walk from the condo to the beach! White sand and not crowded with teal blue water. Great location to work remote or relax and walk to lunch or dinner. Short bike ride to Grayton, watercolors or Seaside. The Deck view was my favorite and ample seating. Wonderful to have access to heated pool and clean hot tub.

Cockroaches

Multiple cockroaches were found. The beds were so thin and uncomfortable. Outdoor furniture was the living room furniture. It was not a great experience. Not a very comfortable place.

Good

Great home and location. I would suggest getting carpet cleaned in bedrooms. It was so dirty our feet were black with dirt just walking in bedrooms. The cleaning company is definitley not good. There was sticky stuff on kitchen floor. Orange maybe juice splash marks on cupboards and in fridge. Overall great place and location. Just suggestions on cleaning. Thanks!

Love Santa Rosa Beach

But this is the least favorite unit that we have stayed in. It claims to sleep 7, but the frame of the lower bunk downstairs is so bent, that my 16 year old grandson could not comfortably sleep there. In my opinion, it could be utilized for only the smallest of children; no teens or adults. Luckily, we brought our own inflatable mattress, (the inflatable in the condo master closet leaks.) We love the area so much, that the unit itself was a disappointment, but not so much as to ruin our visit.

Santa Rosa Beach Madisons Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Madisons Retreat unit 7B. The condo was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the outside decks overlooking the neat green palm tree lined courtyard both during the day and night. The pool, hot tub and amazingly beautiful beach were only a 2 mimute walk away. Our condo garage was well stocked with beach accessories, four bicycles, and free washer dryer. The kitchen was well stocked with all appliances, pots, pans and utensils. Our condo patio had a very nice grill with nearby outdoor table and chairs. We frequently walked to the nearby village center with its numerous restaurants, boutiques and artist shops. All our grocery needs were met by driving 1 to 4 miles to either a convenience store or Super Walmart. We definitely hope to vacation here again in the future. Santa Rosa Beach offers a friendly uncrowded interesting neighborhood with the worlds best beaches extending for miles. Joe Andover, CT

Sea Haunts Santa Rosa Beach, FL

Very nice unit. Upon arrival there were several issues: Dryer and vacuum didn't work and door handle on sliding glass door was broken. Calling management company brought swift results. A new vacuum cleaner was delivered that day a technician said dyer was bad and a new one was delivered the next day and the door handle was replaced the next day (although outside part was put on backwards). There were plenty of high quality towels and 3 bikes available for use. The beds were comfortable. There are 3 things that made the visit only 4 stars: 1. There needs to be light-blocking curtains in the guest bedroom. The morning light is brutal if you don't want to arise @ 6am. 2. There needs to be a small dresser in the bunk bed room. There is no closet and only a small end table to store clothes. 3. The living room could use more seating. There is only a couch that barely seats 4 - for a unit that boasts sleeping 8!

A good but not great vacation

The unit is located within a short reach of the beach although one has to descend 20 steps - as most of the property in Santa Rosa Beach does. Upon arrival it was determined that the dryer and vacuum did not work and the handle on the sliding door was broken. Why didn't previous guests report this? A call to the management company had a new vacuum that afternoon and a inspection of the dyer which resulted in a new dyer the next day and the handle was replaced then also. Great response by the management company who were very friendly and prompt. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of high quality towels available. The visit would have been 5 stars except for three things: 1. The guest bedroom needs light shielding curtains as it just has blinds and the morning light is brutal - even with a sleep mask. 2. There is only a couch that seats 4 in the main room - inadequate for a unit as boasting sleeps 8. We had to bring in our beach chairs to watch TV 3. The bunk bed room has no closet and only s small end cabinet for storage. A small dresser would enhance the storage of clothes. There are numerous very good restaurants nearby as well as a Publix 3 miles away. A very nice community that has no high rise properties.

Good time but warm

My family and I stayed here for our annual family vacation. 5 adults and 2 kids. At first the stairs were a little much for the grandparents, but the downstairs room worked great for them. The first day we noticed that the AC was having a hard time. So we quickly called the number given and they sent someone out to our unit quickly. He changed the filter and checked everything out and said it was working properly. That was good but at the same time it wasn’t. It was one of the hottest weeks, but the unit had a very hard time all week even with all curtains closed and all fans running 24/7. The unit only got down to 71 one night. The rest of the time it hovered around 79-82. We keep our house at home cold, so this was a big adjustment for us. The living room had lots of seating which was nice having 7 of us. The furniture felt more like outdoor seating though which I understand having people coming and going each week. It may be able to withstand more and I bet it is easier to clean. I would prefer something a little more comfortable so when you come in from a day out on the beach you can truly relax. The ice maker does work. But it is slow. I don’t think it ever really filled up the tray. We were only trying to put some ice in cups before going to the beach. But didn’t have enough. We bought our one bags or ice or made our own. I have this 4 stars on cleaning only because of 2 things: 1. The kitchen sink faucet hadn’t been cleaned in a while. My FIL filled up his cup with water from the sink and it had nasty stuff floating in it. Once we cleaned it we didn’t have that issue anymore. 2. The smoke detector was in one of the kitchen cabinets. Not attached to the wall like it should be. I guess the batteries were dead or something like that. The garage is AMAZING!! Being able to open the garage door to put beach stuff was a welcomed addition! I believe putting the beach stuff in the garage instead of inside the unit helped keep the sand down to a minimum throughout the house. I say all this to give others a clear snapshot of our trip, but I also want to say WE WILL TOTALLY GO BACK! Now we know what it will be like and can come prepared. The location is hard to beat for sure. Super close to the beach and a great courtyard for evening family games.

It was great! We would rent again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The townhouse was close to the beach. Fully stocked with everything, including bikes, beach toys and so much more. We would definitely stay again!

Good price point? Dirty and in major need of renovations.

Definitely will not stay again. There was mold growing in the grout of the countertops. Visible water damage throughout which has not been repaired and makes me wonder what kind of mold is inside the walls. Everything is horribly outdated and not clean. The furniture in the living area is awful. It is horribly uncomfortable and slides everywhere when you sit. The carpet is dirty and stained. Cleaning was an hour and a half late so we couldn’t get in until 530 on the day of arrival. Obviously no one has inspected recently because they advertise that this is completely equipped kitchen yet there were no pots and pans to cook with, only 3 forks, and 2 spoons. The only good things are the linens were clean, there is a garage to store beach items, and the proximity to the beach.

Great Week

Great condo! Beach access was better than expected. Loved the pool. Having the garage was so nice to dump all the beach chairs and stuff. Could have been cleaner, but overall it was good and we would definitely rent again.

Thanksgiving Memories

My son & his family own at Sea Haunts so we rented there to be near them. My daughter-in-laws family also rented a unit. Loved the gated community with easy beach & pool access. Made new friends & lots of “Thanksgiving Memories”. Will definitely stay there again!

Disappointment with a view

Upon arrival, we were greeted by an enormous, dead roach at the base of the stairs. Even though the description said no pets, the condo had an animal smell/ bad smell which was a turn off. The couch needs to be thrown away! It is obviously broken in the middle. The kitchen utensils are the absolute most basic, old and cheapest you could find. The outdoor furniture is really old, cheap, and 1 chair was broken. The sliding glass door on the 3rd floor would stick and could trap someone out there if they shut it all the way! The ceiling has old water damage and the popcorn needs to be scraped and redone! The entire condo needs some serious updating. The bedroom on the base floor is really just part of the long hallway and does not have privacy. The morning we left, there was a wriggling, dying cockroach at the base of the stairs - a fitting end to the stay! This condo was NOT worth the expense!!! The 3 positive things I can say are : the linens were nice and clean, you are able to see the ocean from the 2 balconies, the condo has a pool and is very close to the ocean.

Disappointed beach bum

Location is great and the complex is nice. Easy and short walk to the beach and the pool is nice. It was nice to have the bikes available to use. But, the unit has much to be desired. In need of some serious renovation. No master bathroom, shared with second bedroom. The shower rod is about to come off the wall, the towel rack is useless, it falls off if you use it, the door that is connected to “master” is off the hinges on the bottom. The kitchen appliances are old except the fridge, which doesn’t have a water filter system. The unit claims to sleep 8, but in reality only sleeps 7, unless a third person sleeps in the bigger beds. There’s only enough seating on the couch for 3 people and stools for others. The dining room table is nice which is what we had to use for extra seating. The patio furniture is dirty and one chair is broken. We were just disappointed initially because of the price we paid for the week. If we would’ve known the condition of the condo, we wouldn’t have rented it at the price point it is at. But, of course the beach made up for it. We won’t be renting this condo again.

Great location

Really loved the convenience of the Iocarion to the surrounding shops and places to eat. It's also a very short walk across the parking lot and down the steps to the beautiful beach. Would highly recommend.

Refreshing

Location is amazing, amazing, amazing. Morning coffee overlooking the ocean, listening to the waves in a gated community. A very short walk to the beach and short drives to seaside or destin. Did I add, the food is amazing. Goat feathers is a block away and there is not better seafood! Definitely coming back. LOVED it....

Great location and customer service!

The condo we chose had great beach access and was only a block or two from “town”; an easy walk or ride. We had a couple of minor issues upon arrival and customer service was spot on, couldn’t have asked for better. Very responsive and kept us in the loop. The unit was ok... definitely dated and needs new/more livingroom furniture. Limited seating and the chair has lost ALL support - when you sit you fall into a hole. Air and ice maker both worked GREAT though!

We had a great vacation!

We had a great vacation! The location of Madisons retreat was perfect! The courtyard area was nice and well kept. The condo was ok...The AC & ice maker worked amazing! The unit itself is very dated and in need of some updates. Definitely in need of new living room furniture. The couch was OK, but that chair is an awful! I would also consider ditching the side table in lieu of at least a love seat or some other additional seating. Master bedroom had no cable TV, which would have been nice. Overall customer service was top notch, including the local support.

Needs Update

We have gone to this unit 3 of last 4 years. It is in desperate need of makeover. New furniture, kitchen updates and accessories, etc Was outdated then, and has nothing done to it 4 years later

Great location

Great location with a great view and wonderful sounds of the ocean from both decks. Walking distance to restaurants and shops! Biking path was a plus too. We had a great vacation inspite of tropical storm Alberto! The beach was beautiful! Just a walk across the courtyard to the beach.
