Perfect place for a young family
The House was right on the beach making it easy to walk with 3 little kids and had all that we needed. It was also close to many restaurants and shops, very convenient
Good location, property is run down, and was not clean.
We have rented up and down the boardwalk for many years. With a little love, a good deep cleaning this place could be great. Upon our arrival, the entire unit and patio reeked of a rotting odor. The renters upstairs came down and said they had been smelling it their entire stay. They mentioned their unit was also not very clean. We began investigating to find the smell... out on the patio, there was bird poop all over chairs and table, and mud everywhere. We noticed right away, that there was a pile of wet clothing that did not belong to us. It stunk and was covered with sand and there were spiders crawling on it. We disposed of it, but that still was not the rotting smell... We swept the patio, which is where it seemed to smell the worst, and removed everything from the patio, the beach chairs, umbrella, etc... in the corner we located a pink bucket filled to the rim with rotting mostly dead hermit crabs type creatures. The stench was so foul it made a few of us immediately ill. I don’t understand why that wasn’t addressed by whoever cleaned the unit, every time we rent a place, the patio is swept clean, furniture wiped down and certainly any stuff anyone leaves behind is removed. But from the condition of the inside, it didn’t appear to have been cleaned. I understand you get sand in a beach house, but our place was grimy, dirty counter tops. Stains and dry wall damage on the walls. The front of the fridge had a nasty red splatter going accross it that we could not clean off... it looked like ketchup or something...moldy mildew in the bathroom. We basically decided to clean the place ourselves. The master bedroom had an odd moldy stale smell that we could never find... Many of the bed sheets had stains. In the living room, the “couch” is actually an old futon that slides off the frame when you try to sit on it. There is an out of place dinning set, too big for the room, on one side almost crammed in to the corner fireplace. Be advised, the walls are all paper thin, and you will hear every step the upstairs neighbors take. I would say over all this place was dirty and uncomfortable. I give it 2 stars because the land lord was very nice, and tried to be accommodating. He told us that we could stay parked in the parking space after check out, but when his cleaning lady arrived, she threatened my husband when he was getting something out of the car, that if he didn’t move the car she would have it moved.

The Good... LOCATION. This place is just as described right on the boardwalk and just a few feet from the sand. There are lots of restaurants, shops and miles of sand to walk. The location is excellent to kick back and relax. The other good thing was the owner Doug. He cared about our stay and did what he could to make sure everything was in order.
The OK... This townhouse is a little tired but it is very clean. The futon could be changed out and a little paint added but no big deal. Overall it is just as described in the reviews and property description.
The only frustration was the noise from the upstairs neighbours. If I rented it again, and I would, I recommend checking on whether the upstairs townhouse is being rented for the same time period.
Overall a great place to get away.
Best location and view!!
This condo was right on the beach and walking distance to shops, restaurants, bike rentals, coffee shops...anything!
The space was comfortable for my family, but the condo could use some updating. Doug was wonderful and quick to respond to any questions we had.
I highly recommend this place if you want an incredible location on Newport Beach :)
Location! Location! Location!
This is the perfect location....beginning every day with a beautiful sunrise and ending every day with a beautiful sunset. in the hours in between, beach, walk, bike or take a short ride to many area attractions. This is a quaint beachfront 1st floor. If you're looking for modern amenities, this is not the place for you. But if you're a beach lover looking for a spot on the beach and walking distance to shops, restaurants, cafes, a weekend farmer's market outside your door and a beautiful pier then look no further. Doug is very accommodating and available for any needs. We had a great week!!
Location, location, location!
Wonderful to walk out your front door and take steps to the beach! Beautiful weather this week! The unit needs some TLC, but overall the experience was great!
