In close proximity to the beach and several great local restaurants, the Happy Hut is perfect for your island getaway. Perfect for couples or a small family, you can enjoy an evening breeze on the front porch or grill out on the back yard patio. This house has everything you'll need for a relaxing stay in Galveston!

BEDROOM
Built circa 1910, the Happy Hut is a one bedroom historical cottage. The bedroom offers a queen bed with a sofa bed in the living room for additional guests. Nestle yourself into a spacious bed and drift off to a restorative night’s sleep in a charming beach cottage!

BATHROOM

There is 1 bathroom with a clawfoot shower + tub combination, which is particularly convenient for families with small children. Enjoy steady hot water and great water pressure. Bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, hand soap, and body lotion are provided.

KITCHEN

This kitchen has everything you need and is the perfect space for groups that like to cook together. Fully equipped with glasses, mugs, plates, bowls & silverware for 4 as well as a dishwasher for your convenience. Coffee/Tea Bar includes drip coffee maker, Keurig, and electric kettle. Blender, toaster, and microwave included. Gas stovetop range + oven. Pots/pans, baking sheet, oil, salt & pepper. The kitchen table accommodates dining for 4.

LIVING ROOM

Perfect for low-key nights in, our SmartTV will entertain your family as they relax and unwind on the heavenly couch and sofa chair. Log in to your accounts to enjoy Netflix, HBO, Prime, Hulu, Disney+ and more. A selection of board games, books, and children's activities are provided.

WORKSPACE

For moments when you need to check emails or take care of business, our dedicated workspace is the answer. In the bedroom, we provide a desk for your comfort. Strong WiFi is available throughout the house.

LAUNDRY

A full-size washer and dryer are provided in the space below the house. We also provide laundry pods for your convenience.

Let the Gulf breeze envelop you while you relax with a morning cup of coffee on the front porch. Fire up the barbeque on the charcoal grill in the fenced backyard while your dog enjoys the grass! An outdoor shower allows you to clean off after a walk from the beach.

The Happy Hut was a great stay while vacationing. The home was clean and had everything we needed. It was a wonderful place for our dog with the fenced backyard and with the option to lock the front deck. The location is great and close to the beach, stores, and restaurants. We would love to stay again and highly recommend!

Great stay! The location was convenient and the home itself was clean and very cute. It wasn’t ideal to need to call to receive the door lock, but that’s a very small item.

The property was very old and the door knobs were loose and falling off making opening and closing the door difficult. The wood door also jammed and would stick. The bath tub was peeling and overall did not have a clean feel. Do to the door issues we left early… could not open or close it and actually got stuck inside the house because could not open the stuck door. Had to go out the back door and climb over a gate! Wish we knew it faced and elementary school… noisy and had lots of lights on at night. We made a poor choice. Should have stayed at a hotel.

This place is truly perfect for what I wanted and needed. This was a bucket list trip for my dog, Jude. It is centrally located and is in a nice, quiet area. We did come off season, but I really enjoyed my time here. This house is clean & well stocked for what you need. If you need anything else, there’s plenty of stores in the area. I loved the yard for my dog. The front and back patio areas were both very nice. Plenty of room for a couple and a dog. The front patio has a gate so you can close the area off for your dog to roam freely. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend.

This is a poorly advertised property. The owners know the house has problems but has refused to correct them. The biggest being the door, only access to the house. I, like Lesley left early due to being locked out of property at midnight in a very hard rain. Lesley explains the door issue perfectly. The door needs to be shaved to fit the frame. The door handle and lock need to be replaced. There is no pool, washer/dryer, no closet, bathtub needs refinished or replaced, shower installed, no closet, better mattress on only bed. Biggest issue owner knew about door and did nothing.House is overpriced for condition it is in. It should not be listed for public use. Checking out early on a holiday weekend, the door issue and overcharging were major inconveniences. Do not recommend.

This is such a peaceful little place to stay, and it's well situated with a walkable distance to the beach. The hosts were responsive, quick and helpful. This was the first Vrbo rental we have stayed at, and it was a wonderful first experience.
