3 bedroom villa with pool and BBQ area with sea views
The villa is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac within the Kamares development, still regarded as one of the premier residential areas in the area, as all the villas are individual and there are not the straight rows of identical homes you can find elsewhere. The accommodation comprises three double bedrooms (two doubles, one twin) with two bathrooms, one en-suite. The living room and dining area are open plan with an archway to the kitchen. Outside there is a terrace accessible from the living room and all bedrooms, with a private pool (8x4m), an outdoor dining area and BBQ with views to the coast. Guests may also use the Kamares Club, about 15 minutes walk, which has a large pool, tennis courts, bar, restaurant and Wi-Fi, with a book and video library on Wednesdays (check with reception). My agent will arrange to meet you at the villa and deal with any queries.
Contact Languages: Although I have indicated I can deal with French, German and Italian, I must ask you to use email only for these as I am not fluent enough for telephone enquiries. Any email replies will be in English with my attempt at translation into your language.
Golf Courses: There are four courses within 40 minutes drive. Minthis Hills, Tsada is the closest and shares common management with Secret Valley, so it is possible to get vouchers for play at both courses. Aphrodite Hills is on the way to Pissouri and is next to Secret Valley but is independent. The Elea, near Yeroskipou is a new course .designed by Sir Nick Faldo

About Ian Harvey
I worked for 25 years with Standard Chartered Bank in various parts of Asia, Africa and the Gulf as well as with the National Bank of Ras Al-Khaimah. As a child I lived mostly abroad including Italy, Japan, USA and Yugoslavia and went to boarding school in Caterham, Surrey followed by the University of Reading where I read French with German. My main home is in Torquay, Devon. I play golf regularly both at Torquay and Minthis Hills not far from the villa.
Ian Harvey purchased this Villa in 1983
Why Ian Harvey chose Tala
I bought the property off plan in 1983 while I was working in Bahrain, as I liked Cyprus and thought it would always be on the way back from wherever I was posted. That was before they sent me to Africa! Originally it was a 2-bedrrom villa but over time it has been extended to add a third bedroom with bathroom and an outside BBQ area by the pool. Most recently, the front terrace has had a fully tiled verandah added with a balustrade to add more privacy. When I bought the villa Kamares was only just getting started and Tala was undeveloped with few places to eat but both have grown greatly since then. I spend 5-6 weeks at a time here in the spring and autumn and am still finding new places to go while many old favourites remain. If I want a bit of exercise, there are plenty of circuits taking around 40 minutes just in Kamares, to the monastery and Tala village.
What makes this Villa unique
Relaxing on the terrace by the pool, swimming, reading a book, looking down to the coast; compare that to a noisy shared pool at a hotel or apartment complex. Forget the world, until dinner time.

A week inTala
Wonderful welcome pack. Property very clean and the interim clean was excellent too. Loved the outside - beautifully landscaped and wonderful ambience. Would have helped to have had instructions for the cooker and washing machine. We did eventually work out how the cooker worked but not the power to the washing machine. All the other paper work was extremely helpful. Very efficient booking.
Thank you for your comments. I am glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you will consider coming again. With regards to the instructions for the washing machine and cooker, they were there at one time but must have disappeared over time. I shall incorporate these within my guide for future visitors.
Great spacious villa in a peaceful location
Great family friendly villa in a quiet peaceful location away from the crowds. Great pool and outdoor living space. Easy to drive to beaches, shops or restaurants. Really enjoyed being able to escape to the hilltop villa - definitely recommend.
Wonderful value for money
We have just returned from a wonderful week at this villa and I am missing it already. We have stayed in many Owner's Direct properties and this was voted the best by my family. We found the villa to be lovely and clean, amazing views, much appreciated hill-top breeze, great (and sparkling clean) swimming pool. The communication with Mr Harvey was great - extremely prompt and always helpful. The only thing we might change would be to suggest that you type 6 Azaleas Rd Tala into your Sat Nav instead of following directions (might save a few swear words). We'd stay here again in a heartbeat
Thank you for your kind comments. I am amending my guide to include the address for SatNav use as well as seeing if I can improve the written directions.
A relaxing villa with great outdoor space and swimming pool.
Our family, Mum, Dad and the 6 year old Barker triplets, have just had the best holiday staying at this lovely villa in Cyprus and we can’t wait to go back again!
Our daughter cried as we left and asked if we could live there!
Everything was as described in the property details; the outside area and swimming pool was even better than we expected.
This is a very well maintained property and the pool guy came almost every day to either clean it or top it up.
All the information you need to enjoy the villa and even things to do in the nearby area are well detailed.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this villa and, as mentioned before, we plan on returning again one day.
The perfect villa!
Six of us stayed in Ian's villa because we were going to a friend's wedding in Paphos. And the house was absolutely perfect. We actually think it even nicer than it looks in the photos. The view across the hills down to the sea is absolutely stunning. And the pool area and BBQ area is great for hanging out during the day and evening. All the rooms have air conditioning. Ian was very helpful and very easy to communicate. Thank you fro a wonderful stay!
Thank you for your very kind comments. I am delighted you enjoyed your visit and hope you will consider coming again.
Well up to expectations
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the villa was all that we could have wanted.
The villa is situated within the Kamares development, still regarded as one of the premier residential areas in the area, as all the villas are individual and there are not the straight rows of identical homes you can find elsewhere. Tala village is about 20 minutes walk and has a good range of tavernas offering both local and international food. There is also a clubhouse with a mini-market, bar, restaurant and large pool. A car is essential to access Paphos and the coast, about 15 minutes drive, as well as to make the most of your stay. Only Tala and Ayios Neophytos Monastery are within easy walking distance. Paphos has a large selection of bars and restaurants as well as archaeological sites such as the Tombs of the Kings, mosaics at the House of Dionysos, Paphos Fort and the harbour area. You can go walking in the Akamas peninsula, swim and sunbathe on the beaches at Coral Bay and Pissouri, sample wines at the local wineries, visit the St. Neophytos, Chrysorroyiatissa and Agia Moni monasteries and play golf at Tsada and Secret Valley. The Troodos Mountains are within range of a longer excursion. Other Activities: Wine-tasting
