The Old Rock Shop in Van Horn was comfortable, unique, and had everything we needed. The eclectic memorabilia and antiques gave it so much character. The countryside is absolutely beautiful, and the location is perfect—restaurants are close by and shopping is just blocks away and easy to walk to. We stayed a week and enjoyed easy day trips to the mountains, Alpine, and Marfa. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting West Texas.
Loved the place! Decor reminded us of The Pelican in Truth or Consequences, NM; and that’s a compliment. Loved the history of it being a rock shop previously. Owner was very welcoming and responsive and all in all a good place to stay for the night! We’d stay here again for sure.
This is a fun and funky and comfortable property. There are little touches of art and antiques and glowing rocks everywhere, both outside and in. There's even a collection of albums and a real stereo to play them on. Have laundry to do? There's a washer and dryer there. And James couldn't be a nicer or more welcoming host.
James is really fun and easy to talk to, especially if you're a car guy. Cool place. Love his cat and cute little dog!Very interesting and unique. James did a cool job setting up the rooms. I didn't have time to explore his records but the album carry box was super neat. Love that old stuff.
