Would stay again
The inside is extremely nice and had everything we needed!
Beautiful, clean, quiet haven.
If you are looking for the perfect place to stay on your visit to Siesta Key, look no further. Terrie has made this haven just that. It is spotless, yet cozy and well decorated. The bathroom is small, but it has drawers and cabinets in which to stow your toiletries, make-up, and other items. The queen bed is very comfortable, and the closet is quite large. My sister and I unpacked our suitcases and settled in for the week.
We sat outside every morning on the lounge chairs with our coffee and watched the herons, ibis, geckos and even a raccoon explore the area. The lanai is a great place to eat breakfast and make plans for the day.
The two bikes left for us to use were not in perfect shape, but they were certainly very usable, and we rode them around town and down to the beach. There are 4 sand chairs in great shape, beach towels, a large canopy, and best of all, a two-wheeled beach cart that we loaded up every day. This made hauling our beach items so easy! The walk to the beach is about 2 blocks or a ten-minute walk, so there was no need to drive. We purchased a sand umbrella with an anchor and left it for others to enjoy since the canopy was too large for the two of us.
Around the corner, there are several great restaurants, a grocery store, drugstore, bike shop, post office, and other shopping opportunities. Best of all, we were excited to find that a FREE trolley stopped up at the corner and would take us all the way into the Siesta village for more shopping and eating choices! Parking in the village is difficult, so this asset was much appreciated.
Further down the street from this lovely home are several beautiful, elaborate homes. Our bike rides down this brick paved expanse were breath-taking. The oak and banyan trees, as well as other foliage just make your jaws drop!
This house is a duplex, as mentioned in other posts. However, the owner of the other side (Terrie's brother) only uses it occasionally, and it is not rented to others at the present time. Privacy is NOT an issue, even with the shared carport and backyard. Rather, if he's there, strike up a conversation with him. He's friendly and very helpful in suggesting things to do and places in which to eat.
If you are looking for a clean, cozy, comfortable place for 2 people, look no further. We hope to come back again some day.
Wow! Thanks for the awesome review! Hope to have you back next year!
Great Location. Newly Updated and Very Clean
Was staying in Sarasota on business and stayed here for 3 nights. While the appearance while driving up was not the best, it was a very pleasant surprise to see the inside of the house so well decorated and updated. The kitchen was great and all the rooms spotless. It's not a big house but it's perfect for a family of 4. The back patio was nice and would have been great if it hadn't been for the rain! It is close to the beach and there are several bikes to use. Close to a bunch of restaurants too.
The only negative aside from the curb appeal is it is a duplex where there is a unit next door separated by a 2-car carport, so the back yard is shared but you do get your "own" patio and porch.
All in all a very nice stay and I'd stay again on my next trip down.
Thanks for the nice review of Casita Siesta. Hope you do come back when the sun is shining more!
Cute, comfortable, quiet, and close to everything!
My sis and I were in town for a bead show, and this is the first time we've stayed on Siesta Key. Very quiet and comfy, spotlessly clean, cute decor! We loved riding the beach bikes to get coffee and to the beach, and sitting out on the dock and lanai in the mornings watching the wildlife. Short drive to downtown and St. Armand's, tons of options for eating out.
Happy to hear you and your sister had a nice time in Siesta Key. Thanks for the nice review!
Very clean and comfortable
Very nice house, clean and well equipped.
We enjoy the beautiful lanai.
I really love it.
Very nice "home", nicely decorated. Great yard, spent a lot of time on the lanai. Great canal on back of property - great for bird watching. Kitchen was great and had all the utensils. Would definitely consider staying again.
Casita Siesta is on a private road in a botanical paradise! It's a rare find when you can escape from the hustle and bustle yet still be able to walk to and the enjoy all the activities Siesta Key has to offer (ie. beach, marina, restaurants and shopping).
