Vacation wasn't long enough

We came in late on Thursday and the ladies at the office were gone for the day but the guys at the gate were very helpful and gave us the basic rundown for what we needed to check in that night. The bed was very comfortable. The condo looked just like it did online. The bathroom was smaller than it appeared. The shower head only sprayed one way and couldn't be turned so water kept spraying out the door and onto the floor and the shower door wouldn't stay shut. The vent fan doesn't work in the bathroom and we couldnt get the patio door open in the bedroom. All the neighbors were very nice. The location was perfect and we would totally stay there again. bWthbathroomcouldntcouldntgeoptbedroom.

The refrigerator barely kept our things cold and made no ice. The outdoor furniture was broken and the doors would barely open.We have stayed here for years and love the area!! Just when you pay very high prices you expect better 😀

Best view of ocean

This condo needs some updating. The sliding glass door in the bedroom would not open. The sliding glass door to the balcony was very difficult to open and shut. The shower head in the smallest shower I’ve ever seen was hard to turn off and on our last day it broke and would not turn off. We called to report the problem and a maintenance man did show up right away. Overall, this is a great condo due to being gulf front. The view is amazing!!! We will be back next year just not sure we will pay this much again unless the windows and sliding doors are replaced like all the other condos. Air did work great!!!

Gorgeous view of the Gulf!

The condo was perfectly positioned to enjoy both sunrises and sunsets with direct access to the beautiful white sand beach. Even in November, the weather was lovely! All condo appliances worked wonderfully. Neighbors were quiet and courteous. Check-in staff were helpful and kind. We enjoyed the Par 3 golf course and seeing all the fish in the dock by the restaurant. The only issue was some typical coastal critters in the condo. Otherwise, perfect!

Awesome beachfront location... kitchen needs more cooking utensils

Our biggest complaint was the lack of cookware & utensils to use with the new Appliances (one Teflon sauté pan is unusable due to breakdown of the Teflon surface). We make our own egg breakfasts and needed to get creative with cooking on the stovetop using a pizza pan. See below for a detailed review.The good and the bad:The good: completely unobstructed ocean-front view from the living room, bedroom and deck; comfortable deck furniture; beach access 100feet away by foot; beach umbrella and chair rental for $42.80 per day; 45min drive from Fort Walton/Destin airport (we Uber-ed everywhere and it was cheaper than a rental car); brand new kitchen appliances (stove/oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave); 8min drive to harbor walk with food, entertainment and night life; Louisiana lagniappe restaurant is on site and has some of the best seafood I’ve ever had; easy to reach the property management company with questions and concernsThe bad: dishware and utensils only - very little cookware & utensils to use with the new Appliances (one Teflon sauté pan is unusable due to breakdown of the Teflon surface); no beach towels; sliding glass door to the deck was very difficult to open (needs to be greased with WD-40); ceiling lights in kitchen didn’t work; shower leaks due to positioning of shower head at the glass door (there were lots of towels available to dry the floor).

Reviewer Comments: This was our second time back to #2114 Sandpiper after falling in love with the ocean front view and 2nd floor balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. Thankfully it was the same great view as our first trip!!! Love our mornings on the balcony eating breakfast and drinking coffee. . On the other hand, the unit needs some desperate attention starting with a shower door that stays closed and keeps the water contained in the shower. The storage door is rusted and completely off the hinges on the balcony leaned over and covering up a bunch of rusted junk. The patio doors are a safety hazard as they do not open and close with ease, and are the cause of an injury waiting to happen. Finally, some screens would be nice to be able to sleep with the patio doors open.

It is difficult to open and close all of the sliding glass doors. The largest issue is the shower. We had to roll up towels, place the m into grocery bags and then use them to create a dam to keep the bathroom floor from flooding. The first shower took numerous towels to soak up the water that came put from under the door!

Not a good stay

When we walked into the condo it smelled like mildew. The condo was dirty, I had to put a towel on the couch before I would sit on it. The bottom of our feet were dirty from walking on the unclean floor. We had to struggle to get the sliding doors open and closed. There seemed to be a lack of maintenance overall. There was mold on the ceiling and wall above the shower. We reserved the condo for 3 nights and had planned to leave after one night, however my husband had gotten food poisoning and we had to stay another night so we left the next day.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall thing were ok. When we walked in there was a very musty smell which we cured with some air freshener we later purchased. The smoke detector was without a battery and maintenance replaced it on day two. Both sliding door were very difficult to open. Updated bedroom and dining furniture would make the experience better. It was very dated. Also the entry door should be replaced due to the jam being busted. It doesn’t appear to be vertY secure. All in all we enjoyed the say and will come back again. All staff were very courteous.

Thanksgiving Beach

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our first time to stay in this unit. Our usual unit was under renovation. The maintenance of this unit was not what we were accustom to seeing. Both patio doors broken, shower head needs replacement, shower door gasket was bad causing water to go all over the floor during use and the utility closet door was off the its track and leaning against the wall.
