I recently had the wonderful opportunity of participating in an episode of the HGTV show Beachfront Bargain Hunt, which Flip Flop Fever is featured in. The episode covers the story on my search for the perfect beachfront/oceanfront property and I invite you to come stay in my perfect piece of paradise--Flip Flop Fever.
The sights and sounds of the Atlantic ocean surround you in this 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo. You can watch the dolphins play just a couple hundred yards away, take in the enormous cargo ships as they glide the edge of the horizon, watch the shrimp boats catch tonight's dinner and smell the sweet salt water air all from the comfort of your own private balcony and from both the living room and the master bedroom in this condo. Enjoy these scenes from a cozy red sofa or queen bed with a handmade Tybee Island driftwood headboard, while dozing off for an afternoon nap after a morning stroll along the sandy shores.
In past years, I have rented condos at Tybee for my family and I was often disappointed in the presentation and the bare minimum preparation. I have gone to great efforts to make my condo exceed your expectations regarding supplies and items throughout the condo. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the dishes, pots/pans and accessories you would need to prepare a Sunday meal or brew a quick pitcher of ice tea to sit on the porch and enjoy sipping throughout the afternoon. I am a big crockpot lover, when I’m visiting the beach. It’s so easy to throw something in the crockpot before heading out to catch some rays and when you return – lunch is ready! There is a large crockpot available for your use.
A high powered telescope located in the living room, allows you an up close and personal view of the sights and sounds of Tybee Island, Georgia. Watch the dolphins play, see the fish jumping or peek in on the kite boarders that frequently entertain us with their presence. Hilton Head Island is just a few miles across the ocean and can be viewed through this exciting piece of technology.
The bath linens are of exceptional quality, soft and comfy. I have left plenty of bedding for your convenience and there is a blow up mattress in case you bring more friends.
I really believe it is the small touches that make someone feel welcome and relaxed. My goal in decorating this condo was to create an environment that is conducive of a relaxing beach vacation. A true 'home away from home' feeling that will keep you coming back for more.
The community is private with gated entrance and offers 2 pools and a kiddie pool. There is also a small area with swings for the children. BBQ grills outside the pool area and tennis courts across the street as well.
Something that bothered me when searching properties to rent for my vacation was the differences in the advertised price and the actual price after all the hidden fees. Therefore, THE PRICE YOU SEE IS THE PRICE YOU PAY.
I invite others to share in my enjoyment of the Atlantic Ocean and hope that their vacation at Tybee Island, Georgia will leave lasting footprints in their lives for years to come. I love this condo and I take pride in my little piece of paradise and would ask that everyone do the same and treat it as your own home. Most importantly, take a deep breath and relax you will soon be on vacation!

Why Jennifer Bacon chose Tybee Island
After viewing many condos and even making an offer on another condo, the minute I walked into this unit I knew it had to be mine. The view was breathtaking so much that at all cost this would be my oceanfront property that I could share with others. I had the honor of sharing my story on choosing this condo on an episode of HGTV Beachfront Bargain Hunts.
What makes this Condo unique
The amazing view is the most unique benefit but I also love the comfy chairs on the balcony and all the little things that make this condo so unique from the drinking glasses to the pictures hanging on the wall. Everything that is in this home has a meaning and purpose to me.

3.75 Great Get a way, place with a view.
Would have loved to seen the place right after HGTV updates. I am tough to get a 5 out of no matter where. We were just ahead of Hurricane Hermine and really debated whether to go or to wait a day. I contacted the Tybee Police Department to get their take on the situation and decided to go on down. Only experienced some moderate to high winds & rain the night we arrived and the next day as the Hurricane traveled north. We took advantage of the weather to catch up on some naps & rest. Once it was gone, we couldn't have asked for better weather Had a little tough time locating the property which is not the owners fault, she answered my call and showed great patience while staying on the phone with us until we found the property. Locating the lock box containing the gate card key for the gate was also difficult for us, but we found it. Unit is on the third floor which can only be accessed by climbing stairs. No elevator. It was not a problem for us since we relaxed on the beach all day and needed the exercise! Very manageable.
The building is built on pilings which provides covered parking. The parking space is best suited for a mid-size to small car. Other parking is out by the pool and is sufficient for larger vehicles.
Once inside, the place was as advertised. Nicely decorated just as one would expect of a beach property. Probably, too decorated for our liking but nonetheless, we did not want nor need for anything. The place was clean. Yes, the fridge and pantry had some things that should probably be removed but not my place and therefore would not dispose of myself. Beds and furniture, inside and out, were comfy. Flat screen TV's are in the bedrooms & living room. The television programing is ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN but not the fullest spectrum of programming.
This place has one of the best views of the beach & ocean of many places we have rented in the past. The walking distance to the beach is not bad and it takes you too a large beach even when on high tide. A couple times per day we were visited by a dozen or more dolphins cruising the coast line. Another nice thing is the privacy. Even though you are in a larger complex, this property is virtually protected from other people looking inside the place, except from the beach and that is far enough that it maintains the privacy.
We would consider this property again in the future. Thank you, to the owners. We enjoyed the stay.
Loved the upgrades!
A nice relaxing week at Tybee , enjoyed sitting back on the porch watching the ships come and go and then walking the beach at sunset ! This is the best ocean view condo that we've stayed at. : )
Glitches at first, but good overall.
Our check-in was botched, because I never received an email with any information regarding parking pass, key code for door, etc, which led to confusion on my part and trying to check in at the wrong place, which leads to instant panic that you've been scammed. Once that was straightened out, we got into the condo fine. The directions/process for obtaining the gate card are weird and confusing. As the reviewer before me said, it's the second light pole. Also, our first full day there, we entered the pool area and were approached by a young girl (very friendly) who asked to see our pool passes. That was the first time we heard anything about pool passes. I showed her the gate key, and she allowed us to stay, but apparently there are specific pool passes required that were not provided. The refrigerator door (as the previous reviewer also said) was completely loaded full with other people's stuff like mayo, jelly, butter, sauces, etc., and it just seemed gross and as if we were in someone else's house. That stuff needs to GO, and the cleaning company needs to be asked to clean out the fridge if it's not cleaned out by guests. Also, I didn't notice any smoke detectors in the condo, but I may have overlooked something?? The wireless password was incorrect as provided, and only by reading someone else's review was I able to get the correct password (all lower case!!) I had to request check-out time and procedures. Some of this stuff would so easily be remedied by providing written information and having a few things typed out and left on the back of the door or on the fridge door or somewhere for all guests.
Once we got past all of the minor glitches, the condo is beautiful and uniquely decorated. It's comfortable and pretty. The deck furniture is nice, and there is an awesome telescope on the deck. I could read the names of boats out at sea. The access to the beach from this unit is perfect. The beach is gorgeous and huge. There are tons of shells toward the North point. The pools are large and not over crowded. The beds are comfortable. There are tons of board games in the closets, and we made good use of those. The kitchen is well stocked, although you desperately need a scrubber sponge for the kitchen. Nothing to clean pots and pans with but a kitchen washcloth. The keyless entry is very nice for not having to keep up with keys. The condo is in close proximity to lots of fun places. Tybee Island is amazing, and this condo is very nice!
Great location. Clean and comfortable
Only complaint and it isn't a big one. Some condiments were left in refrig. Took up room and we did not use but we felt we shouldn't throw away. Otherwise great experience. Note that key holder is on SECOND pole not first :). Thanks for the great experience
We had a fantastic week! The weather was a little cold and windy, but the amazing view from the condo made up for not being able to go out as much as we had planned. Everything about the condo was cozy and inviting. It was spotlessly clean, and exactly like it looks in the pictures. The beds and couch were comfortable, there were books, magazines, beach toys, and plenty of towels and extra blankets. We were there with our two year old, so we did have to run around and gather up all the breakable things as soon as we got there, but once they were safely away in a closet, it was perfect for our little family. We also noticed that the condo was well insulated sound-wise. We never heard noise from the neighbors. We especially liked that the beach access was right at the foot of the stairs. Very convenient. We rented bikes from Tim's beach rental (including a trailer for our son), and biked all over the island. My husband especially liked the Tybean Coffee Bar a couple blocks away, and we enjoyed browsing in all the shops nearby. We definitely recommend dinner at the Crab Shack, and fresh seafood from Bowie's (though Bowie's seems to have really random hours). The only VERY, VERY MINOR disappointment was that the condo didn't have pan we could use to bake cornbread or brownies. Maybe I just didn't look in the right place? It wasn't really a problem though--I just used a metal frying pan, and they both turned out fine.
All in all, we would definitely stay here again!
This was my fourth year visiting the condo on Tybee. The weather was much more kind this time with 70s through most of the trip. Of course that meant the sand gnats were out in force. That can be a bit of a problem if you don't have a good breeze coming off the ocean, so come prepared. They're an annoyance pretty much anywhere on Tybee and in Savannah.
The owner is great to deal with as usual and truly cares that you have a good visit.
We are so pleased that you had a good visit minus the sand gnats. We do care that you have a good visit and we love repeat guest as yourself. Thank you for the gift you left it means a lot to us to have renters that care about taking care of the condo.
