This spacious contemporary penthouse condo with a vaulted ceiling in the living room is bright, clean, sunny and cheerful with gorgeous ocean views from the living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom and the large private balcony. You can relax while overlooking the promenade, the dunes and the wide stretch of beach and ocean. While drinking our coffee in the morning, we watch the playful dolphins below as the sun rises over the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. This year we saw a hump back whale in the ocean right in front of our building.
We have made many new purchases which include two sofas in the living room, one is a queen sleeper.
The bed in the master bedroom is a Wyndham Simmons king-size pillow-top mattress. For the dining room we purchased a contemporary table with 8 chairs, measuring 72” with the leaf in, enough for 8 people to eat meals together if they wish.
We also purchased a new range/oven with an above-range microwave, both in stainless steel.
We have also purchased Palm Beach Shutters for the master bedroom windows which almost cover the entire east wall. When opened there is no obstruction of the magnificent ocean views. The ocean sounds will lull you to sleep at night.
We have tile flooring throughout the living room, dining room, kitchen, both bathrooms and the hallway. Carpets cover the bedroom floors. The kitchen has also been renovated with beautiful granite counter tops.
The hall bathroom has been totally renovated.
The living room and both bedrooms all have flat screen wall-mounted TVs. There is a DVD player in the living room and free WIFI throughout. This condo comes with a covered assigned parking space under the building and additional parking is available in the lot if more than 2 guest passes are purchased. Bike racks are located under the building so you can bring your bike or rent one in town.
This condo sleeps 6 in beds; there is a king bed in the master bedroom, a queen and a double bed in the second bedroom and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room.
We love the wide stretch of private beach for Sea Colony guests only. There are life guards on the beach in the summer . Beach chairs and toys are available for rent or you can bring your own. It is much less crowded than the beach in town, and much much less crowded than Rehoboth or Ocean City beaches.
Sea Colony has 24-hour security. A vacation in Sea Colony can run the gamut from beach fun to tax-free shopping to golfing, tennis and water sports. The privacy of the 'quiet resort' allows guests to sunbathe and enjoy the soothing ocean breezes in peace. Amusement parks and outlet shopping centers are not far and they provide more variety of family-friendly fun.
This world-class resort tennis facility offers an astounding 34 courts along with tennis clinics, camps and lessons by teaching professionals. Golf courses nearby include two dozen courses featuring waterfront and forest layouts designed by Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. Sea Colony also organizes weekly events such as bingo, camp fires on the beach and other fun family activities.
The town of Bethany is only .5 miles north of Sea Colony, an easy walk to the boardwalk, restaurants, bookstore, and many other specialty shops. The library in town allows summer vacationers to get a card and use their services which include a nice variety of DVDs and books. We enjoy many of the fine restaurants in Bethany and Oceanview, and if you want to go a bit further Fenwick, Rehoboth and Ocean City.

Guest passes, which are purchased at Marketplace at check-in, are required for all unit renters 4 years old or older. They are to be kept on your person while in the resort. They allow you to use all amenities and to park your car/s. If you purchase more than two guest passes, you can received two parking passes, one is a reserved space under the building and the second is an unreserved spot in the larger outside lot. The purchase price for the weekly passes for 2019 are below:
January 1 - May 4: $12; May 5 - June 8: $20,; June 9 - September 14: $40; September 15 - September 21: $20; September 22 - December 31: $12
IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THIS UNIT DOES NOT REQUIRE OWNERS FEES OR MANAGEMENT FEES. YOU ARE REIMBURSED FOR THE $275 SECURITY DEPOSIT WHEN CONDO IS FOUND IN GOOD CONDITION. THE ONLY ADDITIONAL FEES FOR THIS UNIT ARE THE VRBO FEES WHICH ARE ABOUT 5% OF YOUR RENTAL AND A SMALL CLEANING FEE. THERE ARE NO HOTEL TAXES OR SALES TAXES IN DELAWARE.
