Absolutely amazing!! Steve was just so accommodating and easy to communicate with. Cannot say enough about the stay! Beautiful unique property with spectacular views all around. Brilliant Fall foliage and breezy nights made the stay so memorable. Everything you could ask for and more. Can hardly wait to stay again.

The Lighthouse was wonderfully unique, very spacious and delightfully comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed climbing the stairs to experience the breathtaking view at the top of the lighthouse. The house is very clean and well stocked. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. Steven was readily available to help with any questions if needed. Of course, to top it all off was the glorious view of the ocean each day!

After a couple of glitches with our initial booking at the Lighthouse, the property was exactly as advertised! Steve is a transparent and welcoming host who was easy to communicate with, clearly loves the place, and obviously cares about the experience of his guests.My family and I absolutely loved the property and the house. Pictures don't do it justice. It is secluded, peaceful, clean, and the views are amazing!We wish we could have stayed a full week.I can't recommend the Lighthouse enough and can't thank Steve enough for accomodating our family's summer vacation.Brian

The gentle lapping of waves against the shore, the squawk of sea gulls, and the chirps and whistles of a resident osprey pair are the only sounds you'll hear at the Lighthouse. The peace and serenity amidst a beautiful oceanside setting will inspire and delight all who are fortunate to stay here. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. The owner was exceptionally helpful and quick to respond to all queries. Between the spectacular sunrises and sunsets, it's an easy ride to interesting shops and restaurants in Lunenburg and Mahone Bay. If you come to the Lighthouse, be prepared for a terrific stay and wonderful memories.

We had a fantastic time at the lighthouse. The location is superb with great views and dark skies. We spotted lots of wildlife. The property is clean, spacious and had everything we needed on hand. We’d love to return.

The lighthouse was an amazing experience that we all thoroughly enjoyed. The location, while very quiet and secluded is just minutes from Lunenburg and Mahone Bay. There is almost zero light pollution so watching the stars at night is magical. The amenities in the house were great and our host was delightful and so helpful. We look forward to staying there again soon.

The Lighthouse! What can I say! Our party of 8 truly experienced a memorable stay of a lifetime. Everything from the ocean views, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, unique layout, not to mention the 5 star hospitality provided by Steve! He made sure we had everything we needed, coordinated a feed of lobsters, and was the best VRBO host we have ever experienced. We will definitely be back. Thank you Steve!

Our family had an unforgettable stay at the Lighthouse in Lunenburg. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the peace and solitude made it the perfect place to relax. It feels wonderfully secluded, yet it's only a short drive to downtown Lunenburg and countless activities within 30ish minutes, including beaches, hiking, kayaking, museums, and great restaurants. The wildlife was incredible. Every day we saw ospreys, herons, seals, and deer right from the property, making the experience even more special.Steven was an outstanding host. He answered every question quickly, was incredibly helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed.The biggest compliment we can give is that when it was time to leave, our boys, ages 8 and 10, were actually in tears because they didn't want to leave the Lighthouse. That says everything about how much they loved our week there.The Lighthouse became one of our favorite family vacation memories. Hot tub at sunset, swimming and exploring the shore on both sides of the property with our labradors (pet friendly so huge!). We highly recommend the Lighthouse to anyone looking for spectacular scenery, peaceful surroundings, abundant wildlife, and the perfect home base to explore Nova Scotia's South Shore. We highly suggest and hope to return one day!A quick practical note, if you visit from the USA I would suggest bringing the per person allotment of wine/liqour as its expensive in Canada, though local Beer is great and cheap.

The Lighthouse really is extraordinary in every sense. It’s such a unique structure with fabulous views from every window. The main living space is filled with light and the floor to ceiling windows offer ocean views on both sides. We had the entire peninsula to explore, with just the birds, deer, and a very friendly dog for company. Steven lives on the property but his house is discretely tucked away in the trees. He was always responsive when needed but was very respectful of our privacy. The perfect host! Do be aware that what makes this place special also presents limitations for some people. There is just one ground floor bedroom. The other three rooms are up a spiral staircase and/or steep ladders. Well worth the climb (even with bags)! There are also steep drops from two of the open/loft bedrooms and from a cliff at the edge of the patio, so bear that in mind if you have little kids. Overall though, it is paradise for older children. Think Swallows and Amazons, or is that just showing my age! Would return in a heartbeat.

Steve and Kay were absolutely wonderful hosts. Check-in was a breeze and they left us some nice welcoming touches. It was very well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, plates, glasses, all we needed for our week. Washing machine and Dryer, dishwasher, full size fridge and stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and oils, spices for cooking. Steve was very responsive to questions and had a lot of patience with me as VRBO did not initially release my down payment to him and he supported working through the challenges.The Lighthouse overall was amazing with the wrap around deck and several Adirondack chairs to watch sun rises and sunsets. Stunning property and view, surrounded by bays and Atlantic Ocean. Deck also has a hot tub, BBQ and an outdoor fire pit off to the one side..From the deck watched the seals daily, many Blue Herons, Spotted Sandpipers, Greater Yellowlegs, Belted Kingfishers several Terns and many others including various warblers. There were Osprey bringing branches to a nest on the property, The Bluenose Ii also passes by off shore when going into Mahone Bay.Approx 15-20 minute drive into Lunenburg, and close to Blue Rock, Ovens Natural Park Sea Caves and Mahone’s Bay. Approx. 1.5 hours to Peggy’s Cove with possible stops at Chester and Hubbard on the drive.Amazing property, amazing hosts and a memorable vacation. Thanks for allowing us to experience The Lighthouse Steve and Kay and thank you for your amazing hospitality! We will be back!!

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful VRBO! We loved the cleanliness and the space. The VRBO was even better than the pictures on the site! It is gorgeous! The host was very organized with information packages so you knew what they expected, and they encouraged us to visit local area sites. We could see the ocean on both sides of the building. It was gorgeous. We walked the shore of the ocean, picked shells, and saw hermit crabs. We saw seals swimming in the ocean. It was peaceful and tranquil! There was enough room for our family of 7. Everyone had space and loved the beauty of the lighthouse VRBO! Our children were smitten with the view of the ocean, the natural beauty of the peninsula, the ability to have a wood fire in the wood stove, and the opportunity to have an outdoor fire as well. There was a nice hot tub. The road out to the VRBO was an adventure, but once we went a couple of times, we loved the unique experience. Highly recommend this to people who love nature and serenity!
