Built in the 1940s as a tenant farmerā€™s home, this hidden gem sits quietly up the hill behind our big old farmhouse, offering privacy and tranquility. Relax on the porch, watch the birds, and stargaze under clear mountain skies.
Located in Ashe County, in North Carolinaā€™s northwest corner near the Virginia line, youā€™re just minutes from adventure:

-15 minutes to Grayson Highlands State Park
-20 minutes to White Top Mountain, Mount Rogers, the Appalachian Trail, and the Virginia Creeper Bike Trail
-Steps away from Helton Creek, a local favorite for fishing, just across the road

We loved staying at the cabin! It was great and just like the pictures. We wish we would have had more time to explore the area. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms are nice size as well. We would definitely stay here again!

Cabin is very nice. Very clean. Beds are so comfortable! The cabin is in a great location. Close to State Parks. Our stay was over our 44th anniversary and we were able to unwind and regroup. Hosts were very accommodating. We will be back!

The location was beautiful.. a secluded getaway. The views from the top of the pumpkin patch...sitting on the porches. The house had great character... and all the necessities were there. The host was very accommodating. We will definitely return.

This was our 4th time staying at this cabin, it has become our home away from home when we visit the area. My wife and I stayed a full week again. You will not find a more peaceful setting. Completely private and quiet. The stars at night are amazing with no light pollution around. The cabin is very comfortable and cozy, it feels like grandmaā€™s house. It has everything that you need for your stay and the hosts generously provide an amazing assortment of toiletries in case you forgot to pack something. Great WiFi that you can use to stream your favorite accounts. The hosts are very friendly and quick to respond to any questions you may have. Looking forward to returning again in the future.

Awesome hideaway cabin nestled in the woods with pumpkins and cows all around. Great location for hiking in Grayson Highlands. Peaceful cabin that had it all. Fully stocked with anything you could need or forgot to bring! Stars at night were amazing. Great rental. We plan on coming back! Host was fantastic.

Hosts are Very easy to reach and helpful with educated answers to all my questions. The accommodations have everything you need. We hope to stay longer next time! The area suffered tremendous damage from Hurricane induced flooding last fall but community has shown their strength in overcoming such adversity.

Quaint remodeled tenant house

This is the second visit to this property. I enjoyed my stay there as much as the first time. Really like that it's a quiet peaceful place with birds, deer, rabbits and a nice view. The spring/stream running beside the house is great to listen to. The lightening bugs are also a hit with us. It's nice that the kitchen has small appliances, and also a few things in the bathroom that you may need. Plan on going back again, hope it's not 4 years before I can do it. I really like this place.

The rolling mountains and crisp air of Ashe County remind me of Englandā€™s climate, which is part of why my husband and I fell in love with this special corner of North Carolina. Weā€™re delighted to share our cozy cabin and this beautiful 15-acre property with you!

This cabin sits on a 15-acre slice of my late husbandā€™s family land, settled in 1798 by the first registered inhabitants of Ashe County. The property has stayed in the family ever since. The big white farmhouse at the entrance, built in the 1890s, welcomes you to this historic retreat. My husband and I retired here 15 years ago to live full-time, drawn by the serenity, cool mountain summers, and warm Southern charm. We think youā€™ll love it as much as we do!
