About this property
The Nicholas Seitz House - A Restored Stone Home
This 1848 stone home offers a unique & historic lodging experience. The Nicholas Seitz House is furnished with antiques & includes modern amenities that offer a convenient & comfortable stay. For history, railroad, & restoration buffs, & for hikers & bikers at all levels, the Nicholas Seitz House is your perfect home away from home.
In 1848, Nicholas Seitz, a local merchant, built a grist mill, a stone house, & a general store along the North Central Railroad line. Today, the entire village is being lovingly restored by your Hosts, Ellen Darby & Dave Keller. This residence consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a TV/living room, a dining room, a dressing room/office, & a fully outfitted kitchen with new state-of-the-art appliances. The home also showcases several exceptional pieces of furniture handcrafted by Dave, including the 10' pine dining table.
Bring your bicycle & your hiking gear. The NCR's Rail Trail & historic excursion trains run right
through Seitzland. You can store your bikes in the summer house, just off the relaxing back porch.
All bedrooms & bathrooms are located on the upper levels.
