About this property
Hidden Gem on Westport Island
Welcome to Mid-Coast Maine! Our island house has woodsy privacy, a lovely water view and access to our dock on the Sheepscot River...all within a 10 minute drive from Route 1. The path to the dock is steep, but we use it regularly and are in our 60s and 70s. Inside our house, we have a queen bedroom on the first floor and a double bedroom and a twin bedroom upstairs. We can privately sleeps 5 but a 6th space is available on a comfortable twin pull-out couch in our upstairs loft. We keep our fully equipped kitchen with oven, stovetop, microwave, toaster, coffee maker stocked with cooking basics like: olive oil, vinegar, spices, flour, sugar as well as tea and coffee . We have two full bathrooms and a washer/dryer if you need it. Our spacious deck overlooking the Sheepscot River provides glorious views. Many birds live in our area - including a pileated woodpecker! We provide a 2-person canoe, a single kayak and a 2-person sit-on-top type ocean kayak. We also provide a charcoal grill with necessary grilling tools. Our yard is shady with grass for a good place to use our various balls, frisbees and even a corn hole game. We have our yard and periphery treated with an organic mosquito and tick repellent to help reduce these summertime pests. Two sandy ocean beaches and one lake beach, along with many shops, restaurants and galleries are within 30 minutes from Rocky Road. Portland, the largest city near us, is an easy hour's drive with all of its cultural offerings.

The house sits on a hill, and you need patience to walk down to the river and back up, but nothing that cannot be accomplished if you are in average condition. The view is beautiful and the surroundings peaceful. The house was clean and stocked as stated by the host. The host did an exemplary job itemizing everything, from items stocked in the kitchen to restaurants and area activities. My messages were answered promptly and with kindness.I hope we get to visit again!

This was an ideal rendevouz for my dear friend from Canada and me. A relatively secluded spot overlooking the river, but an easy drive into Wiscasset and other charming mid-coast towns. The house is neat, well stocked and appointed. I esp liked sitting on the small sun porch.
Quiet, peaceful and pretty. Nice view of the Sheepscot river. A bit of a hike to the dock. If you're up for it, the kayak, canoe & paddle board look nice. The PFD's, paddles, etc are all supplied.Very clean and organized, with the kitchen being well equipped. We used the weber grill and enjoyed the sunroom immensely.Excellent communication.
We wish we had more time to hang out here! We loved the water views and the sunroom. The bedrooms were cute and beds were comfortable. The hang-out area with books, games and puzzles was a nice bonus. Would love to stay again!
We enjoyed our stay and the hosts had so many thoughtful little touches (like kids toys and kitchen items). The deck view and the dock were one of our favorite parts of our trip. Highly recommend staying here.
Wonderful property! I was alone so the second floor went unused, but would be an awesome place for a family to stayWell-located to get to Wiscasset, Woolwich, Bath, and other destinations.
We had a wonderful time at Rocky Road! The house is wonderfully clean, and has everything you could need. We really enjoyed canoeing, and watching the world go by from the deck. We can't wait to go back!
Beautiful tranquil setting. Host was friendly and helpful. Views of the river are spectacular with a big deck and sunroom to take advantage of the views. I would LOVE to return.
The house and location were beautiful. Clean and well stocked with all the essentials. The hosts were great and readily available. Would definitely recommend!

Great location! Easy access to Route 1 while secluded with a nice overview of the water. Walk to trails along the river with great birds and wildlife including seals on seal rock. Very comfortable house with all the amenities needed.
