Train View a spacious 3-bedroom upstairs apartment with WiFi in Northfork
Enjoy this uniquely vintage 3 bedroom upstairs apartment with your family &/or friends in the heart of Northfork. Less than a mile from several ATV Trails! You'll love the slower pace of life & the beauty of McDowell County. With trains coming & going right across the road, you're sure to hear the engines rumble & whistle at the crossing. With plenty of entry points nearby, you can enjoy the "best trout fishing this side of the Mississippi" in the Elkhorn Creek, also right across the street.
As an upstairs apartment, this is not handicap accessible. Once you climb the 24 half-steps, the entire place is yours. A huge living room with a 50" flat screen TV & Roku with plenty of space to lounge & relax. Comfy, clean beds in each room allow for a good night's rest, although you may want to bring earplugs because the trains don't take nights off. A fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher is available for your convenience. Enjoy family meals & play some board or card games at the big dining room table with seats for 8. Got dirty on the trails or out fishing? Or maybe you just want to soak a bit in the old fashioned claw foot tub? We also have an enclosed shower for those who prefer a quicker bathing experience. The on-site laundry room is free for our guests to use, so you don't have to worry about taking dirty clothes home.
Our local Family Dollar store is less than a one minute walk, in case you forgot something. They have snacks, drinks, milk, coffee, ice, toiletries, etc.
We've also opened the Steam Engine Café, a made-from-scratch pizza shop, on the 1st floor of the building. Check our website (www.SteamEngineCafe.com), Facebook page, or Google for more info & updated hours.

Why they chose this property
Once popular & booming, Northfork is now a sleepy little town with evidences of wealth & ingenuity hidden in plain sight. You'll probably be surprised by the amount of trains that still come through, as well as the number of UTVs driving around. If you have the opportunity to chat with some of the locals you'll likely to hear plenty of stories about the "good ole days" & maybe some of our challenges too.
