Only 5 minutes to Freeport Marina and a 10m golf cart ride to the beach!

Daufuskie Island: Only accessible by private boat or paid ticketed ferry. I will happily help you to arrange your water and land transportation. Golf carts are highly recommended to explore the island. You cannot bring your car and will leave it at the ferry parking lot. There is no overnight docking for your boat on Daufuskie and it is the responsibility of guests to check ferry arrival and departure times.

The house was very clean and exactly as described. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals, which was a big plus. Tennille was a wonderful host with excellent communication throughout our stay. The property is quiet, peaceful, and very family-friendly. I have been a host for over 3 years and have had the pleasure of hosting over 300 wonderful guests with 5 star reviews across many booking platforms. Unfortunately, this was not the case with this renter. I have never had a renter that has communicated with myself and others on the island so disrespectfully, left the place a complete mess without taking out the garbage, leaving fish out on the counter, and comforters full of dog urine. While checking in 2 days late and commenting "Cute Place," it became clear within 24 hrs that no matter what was done to help this guest enjoy Daufuskie, it was not going to happen. I would not recommend this guest to any anyone in any service industry. I encourage you to read the many honest, valid reviews and to ignore the outlier. I look forward to continue hosting my many return guests. PS. The photos are all less than a year old.

This little cottage was just right for a couple of nights on Daufuskie during the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament . It had everything we needed for our stay - which was mostly a peaceful, cool & quiet place to sleep after long days. The beds were super comfy! We didn't cook or use the firepit or beach gear - but I can tell you it is well outfitted if you need those things during your stay. The location is great, easy drive to Freeport Marina for food, drink & entertainment. Easy IN/OUT.

We had the best stay at the Sol Shack this weekend on Daufuskie Island. This home is cozy and peaceful giving you the full island vibe. We felt like we were staying with a friend. We ate out at the restaurants but the kitchen is well stocked if you choose to cook. Bed was comfy and so were the couch and the porch! Tennille, was the best host. I recommend staying here as many days as you can…. You will not want to leave!!

This property was exactly as described and very clean. The Host was EXCEPTIONAL! She explained everything as soon as we rented the property and then sent a text to us the day we arrived to give us step by step instructions to find the property and the code to enter. She also reached out the following day with recommendations for dinner. In my opinion she goes above and beyond any average host!!! We had a wonderful time

The decor is The Sol Shack was personally brought home by me from all of my worldly travels. You may see my love of India and Thailand throughout the cottage as both have been my previous homes.

I never tire of the peacefulness in this cul-de-sac. The morning light is magnificent and you’ll often catch a family of deer feeding on the property.

The Sol Shack is truly a labor of love. You won’t find beach pictures from Home Goods here. You’ll find a collection of artifacts that reflect a love of travel in a serene, quiet neighborhood. I am a local host and often meet many of my guests. I enjoy sharing tips and stories about our island.
