Countryside Retreat: A remodeled 1800’s artist cottage on the lake
A 2-bedroom lakeside cabin just 10min from Lahti and 1.5h from Helsinki airport.
It offers peace and privacy on a large property with a big yard, trampoline, and unique sculpture garden. Explore the surrounding countryside and nearby hiking and skiing trails and then return home to a warm sauna and swimming right from the dock. Inside you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen, comfy living area, and warm atmosphere. alike. Come experience Finnish lakeside living -close to Lahti, but a world away. We are located across from Messilä camping and skiing. From Messilä you can access ski, biking, and hiking trails. The cabin you are renting is connected by a hallway with a door to another house (pic per request) that was built in the 1960s. We currently live there.
There’s also a row boat and kayak you are welcome to take out.

My husband is Finnish and I’m from Puerto Rico. We met working on a sailboat in Fiji. We enjoy hosting and meeting people but we respect your space.
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood is great. We’re surrounded by country side and wheat fields. We have some neighbors but you don’t see them nor hear them. You have the views of the city in the distant and mountains right across. It truly feels like you are in the middle of nowhere while still being close to everything.
What makes this property unique
The newly remodeled living room and kitchen bring warmth to the house and the beautiful handcrafted antique furniture make it stand out. There’s art everywhere you look. From the furniture to the kitchen cabinets to the sculptures inside and out.
We have an indoor sauna you can use at your leisure and an outside sauna that you can rent for 30/40mper day.
Every bedroom has a view to the lake and linens are included.
