About Aaron Smith
It all started in the 80's... My parents discovered St. John in 1980. Every year after that, they would stay on St. Thomas and take the people ferry over to St. John every day. My brother and I would come down with them every Spring Break. We would spend the day at the beach and return to St. Thomas in the evening. Fast forward a few years...College, marriage, children (Tyler, Garrett, and Emersen). Then in 2005, I wanted to surprise Jana for her 40th birthday. So I planned a trip with our good friends to stay on St. John for a week. It was an incredible trip. That’s when it got into our blood. We “got” it. The whole vibe of St. John: the beauty of the island, the people, the culture, the pace of life (island time). After that trip, we immediately began planning our next trip to St. John for the following year. We also vacationed in a few other places that year, but nothing compared...We were hooked! We have returned every year since. In 2008 we took our first-ever two week vacation (to St. John of course). We love staying for two weeks---you have time to really decompress and get on island time.
Aaron Smith purchased this Villa in 2011
Why Aaron Smith chose Cruz Bay
We have stayed on the Coral Bay side and the Cruz Bay side. During our 2010 trip, we looked at some land and some houses, with the dream of living here one day. It quickly became an obsession. We looked at several homes, but the view at Blue Heaven Rendezvous kept us coming back. We ended up buying in 2011. We hope you enjoy Blue Heaven Rendezvous as much as we do. It is in the classic caribbean style with extensive stone work throughout the property and Villa.
What makes this Villa unique
The View! It is mesmerizing. When we are on St John, we are outside almost all of the time. Breakfast or just coffee on the deck, taking in the morning view as the island wakes up. Most of the day is spent at one of our favorite beaches, we pack a cooler with 'beach sandwiches'. For some reason a sandwich always tastes better at the beach. In the late afternoon we're back on the deck as the sun begins to fade. We grill out most nights with music and cocktails. We hope you will enjoy the villa as much as we do. It is affordably priced so that others can enjoy two weeks on island as well.

The view really never gets old
If you've rented a vacation house more than once, you learn to expect that the pictures may be slightly nicer than how it will appear in real life. That is simply not the case here. Every person in my party of 6 (3 couples) took a picture from the porch every single day for a week and I still don't think we did it justice.
The house was great, with plenty of comfortable seating and bedrooms spaced out enough that we never felt cramped. We ate almost every meal on the porch (bring bug spray and/or long pants -- that's my advice no matter where you stay on the island).
The property managers kicked off the week right with a few snacks and beverages waiting for us. They were available to answer my endless questions before we arrived and met us at the boat to guide us to the house. We didn't have any interaction during the week, but we also didn't reach out.
Everything was in good working order -- kitchen was well stocked with tools and cookware, appliances and lights all worked (not always a given in a rental), showers had decent pressure, and no complaints about the beds.
Driving around the island in general is not for the timid (driving on the left is NOT the issue, it's the hills, narrow roads, and insane switchbacks) but that's true no matter where you stay.
The beaches were glorious (albeit with less natural shade, so we rented an umbrella from Beach Bum for the week) and the provided chairs were a godsend. We hit Salt Pond, Hawksnest, Waterlemon Cay, and Maho. Most of the restaurants and bars we love are open and ready for business and the people are as kind and friendly as ever. Get thee to St. John and stay here!
You sound like us when we are on island, we eat almost every meal outside. The view really is incredible everyday, and on clear days you can see St Croix 45 miles away. Hope to have you back soon!
Blue Haven was a perfect fit for our family. Stunning views out of every room.
We really enjoyed waking up and winding down at Blue Haven. Everything was in great condition, the property managers were helpful and immediatly attentive to our needs. Fabulous family vacation. We hope to come again soon!
Glad to hear you and your family had a great time! Hope to have you back soon!
Million Dollar View
We had a great time back on St John after the hurricanes, we where there the first week in Feb. 2018. The house has an amazing view and the trade winds couldn't be better. The house needs some updating ie holes in screens or patched with duct tape, screen doors don't shut properly allowing mosquito's in, TV has a line through the screen (you get used to it), mattresses could be replaced not very comfortable. We have stayed in many Villas on St John some have been great and others not so. If you are looking for a little rustic villa with a great view this is for you.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm a little surprised to see a three star review on this site since you didn't reserve via VRBO. The six guests that stayed after you on Feb. 26-March 5 just left a five star review on Airbnb. We always strive to have a five star experience for our guests. I wish you would have let our on-island caretakers know about your concerns. Brian & Jessie are outstanding and they could have resolved them. For example, he replaced the grill on Feb 12, the same day the guests felt that is wasn't working very well. I've never had a mention of the mattresses. Three of the four are less than a year old. Not sure what the issue was with a slider, as every slider and screen door was replaced in 2016.
It was a good experience. Beautiful view from all the rooms. Kitchen has more than enough utensils.
We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay Nandita!
Beautiful island and house. View is amazing! Everyone on the island super friendly! Hate to leave!
Overall experience was "a spectacular vacation!"
Glad you had a great time at Blue Heaven Rendezvous! Hope to have you back soon!
Perfect location, comfortable, easy and cute!!
A group of 5 of us stayed at Blue Heaven in April 2017 and found it to be exactly what we needed. The deck is perfect, well equipped, and has, as others have accurately noted, an amazing view. The bedrooms are all comfortable and quiet from any activity in the main part of the house. The kitchen is well equipped - we did not eat lunch or dinner in the house, but did have breakfast and heavy appetizers and lacked for nothing. Brian and Jessie are great - and adapted to issues that we had due to Delta's meltdown and our arriving in pieces and one day late - they were great. There are coolers, chairs, beach towels - the AC in the bedrooms is very good - all in all just a great house for 5 or 6 folks - or fewer. 5 minutes into town. And Aaron is great to work with too. My sister had stayed in this house before and loved it as well. I will unquestionably check this house first for every subsequent trip and stay here if it is available. Love it. You will too.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. Our on-island managers, Brian and Jessie, are fantastic and are always available to assist where they can! We look forward to having you back back to the villa!
Our on-island Villa Manager will meet you at the Ferry Dock and escort you to the villa and give you an orientation. They are available during your entire stay for any questions about the villa or if any maintenance items pop up. They are a wonderful couple who are happy help, if needed. You will want to explore the island from this perfect location. Just a short drive into town (Cruz Bay) and for world famous beaches: Honeymoon, Solomon, Caneel, Hawksnest, Trunk, Cinnamon, Maho and Francis; snorkeling, scuba, hiking, shopping, dining, and happy hour. When you want to head to Coral Bay (quieter side), it's a quick drive via centerline road to Coral Bay. Enjoy a great burger or fish sandwich at Skinny Legs, breakfast in the morning or pizza at night at Donkey Diner, a fresh lobster roll at Tourist Trap. Great swimming, snorkeling and hiking at: Salt Pond, Grootpan, Great & Little Lameshur, and Reef bay. Incredible hiking through out the national park. Favorites are the Reef Bay hike and Ram Head.
