Midcentury Glass Getaway with Pool

Step into a mid-century masterpiece: a 1956 International Style glass house by architect Orus Eash. Encased in 30 floor-to-ceiling glass panels, the home dissolves boundaries between indoors and nature, set on a beautiful 1+ acre lot with mature trees. Recently restored and furnished with authentic period pieces, it offers a rare blend of design, history and tranquility—an architectural experience unlike anywhere else in the city.

Pool season: Memorial Day to Labor Day. Sometimes, it'll be open before or after but it likely to be a bit chilly as it's unheated.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items and take out the trash
Turn off the lights, lock the doors, and return the keys
Strip used beds and place two sheet sets including fitted, flat sheets and pillowcases (i.e. the king bed and queen bed OR the twin beds and the King bed) in the washer.
Laundry detergent / Lysol Sanitizer can be found above the dryer. Load detergent and add one capful of Lysol Sanitizer to the softener partition. Power on, turn knob to Whites setting, press Start.
For any remaining used sheets and pillowcases, please place them in the laundry room.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Indoor Fireplace Please do not use; it is decorative only.
No Shoes in the Home.

Staying in this remarkable mid-century glass house was truly a privilege. It was really a rare opportunity to experience a piece of living history and not simply to admire it from afar, but to actually live in it, even only for a few days. The home has been beautifully restored and thoughtfully updated with modern conveniences while preserving the character, design, and architectural integrity that make it so special. The wall of glass blur the line between indoors and out, making the surrounding landscape feel like an extension of the home itself. Even on a rainy day, we get to enjoy the views outside and watch the rain fall across the pool. It was an honor to be guests here and an experience we will genuinely remember for years to come. We cannot thank the owners enough for preserving this incredible home and, more importantly, for opening it to the public so that others have the opportunity to experience what it is like to stay in such an important piece of mid-century architecture.

Our company rented this home for visiting guests who had a wonderful experience during their stay. The property was clean, comfortable and matched the listing. The host was very kind and responsive throughout the process, making everything very easy to coordinate.She was also incredibly accommodating in helping us prepare for guests traveling with babies, which was greatly appreciated. Our guests mentioned how comfortable they felt and how much they enjoyed their time at the home.Overall, it was a smooth and positive experience, and we would absolutely book this property again for future guests.

The glass house had character to spare. It was so cool if you like mcm architecture and art. It was also immaculate. Due to the owners commitment to the design the doors and locks are not updated so expect to use actual keys. The primary setting for the locks allow them to auto lock so be very aware to not lock yourself out. Know that the window coverings are relatively sheer so if you need total dark plan to use one of the sleep masks that the owners provide. They are on a well and the water has a sulphur smell but the water pressure was amazing and hot water was plentiful. The owners were very generous with supplies. They even provided keurig pods. Overall a super cool place to stay. The couple things I mentioned are just a heads up if you happen to be super picky. We would definitely stay again!!

While Jen lived in California for almost 30 years and Jeff for his entire life, we now call Fort Wayne home. We are huge fans of midcentury architecture, which is what led us to this home. We took over 3 years to remodel this home because, unfortunately, the previous owner had not treated it well. We say he committed "A Crime against Architecture!"

The setting is beautiful with so many mature trees and the home sits on a little over an acre. It's very private and in a small, quaint neighborhood that's in the city but you'd never know it.

As the only International Style, Midcentury home in Fort Wayne, it's a unique stay! With fun colors, period-appropriate furnishings, a beautiful and private setting with 30 glass panels lining the perimeter, staying here really is an experience unlike any other!
