We do not have a boat dock, but we have steps that lead down to the water, as well as a gentle walk down area to the lower left of the property. There is often beach area available, depending on the water level. In the past, we've kept our pontoon anchored in the water (an option for anyone bringing a boat).

*** Kings River Marina in Shell Knob, MO is the one most frequented by guests- it's about 20 minutes to/from the Lake House, whether by car or boat.***

There are several places nearby to rent boats or boat slips. Shell Knob is 20 minutes away, Eagle Rock is 15 minutes, Holiday Island, AR is 20 minutes, Kimberling City is about 30 minutes, and there may be more!

* Branson is about 41 minutes away.

* Eureka Springs, AR is an artsy place full of cute little gift shops, trendy restaurants, Victorian mansions, art galleries, and - of course - Springs! There are family dinner shows and go carts, etc. for kids. The world-renowned Great Passion Play, with real horses, etc., can be seen live in the outdoor amphitheater. Eureka Springs is also home to Thorncrown Chapel, a chapel constructed of over 6,000 sq. feet of glass.

* Roaring River State Park a family favorite for fishing, and also provides opportunities for camping, hiking, and bicycling. There is a Nature Center/Museum there, as well as a trout hatchery and live spring for touring and fish feeding.

You can also fish right in our back yard! We've caught catfish, white bass, big mouth bass, perch, and more standing on the shore or out in our boat. You can purchase a fishing license online or at most gas stations or stores in the area.

Golfing is available at either Kings River Golf, or Holiday Island, AR, both 20 minutes away. Holiday Island has a great playground and swimming pool, and several good restaurants.

Great for a big family. Worked well for a wheelchair. Provided our own ramp for front porch

  • 4 of 5

Worked very well for family member in an electric wheelchair! He could enter the mid level through the front porch with a ramp he brought and the lakeside level was perfect for him to enter and he was able to get his wheelchair in the bathroom! The property is not upscale, but very practical for large groups and child friendly. We had a wonderful time. The children swam and fished and kayaked at the property shore and there was a nice sandbar just around the bend.

Beautiful Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had such an amazing time at the lake house for a big family reunion. Scenery is amazing! No cell service, but that may be what we all needed to enjoy each other's company that much more! Kayak and canoe were great to have ready to go at any time of day and enjoy the scenery. Brian and Jennifer were so responsive with anything that was needed. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful lake house!

Great cabin! Worked out really well for our family get together.

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful property on the quiet side of the lake! Only thing that would've made it better would be a swim/boat dock.

Family reunion

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at the Golden lake house!!! We used every inch of space.

Found almost anything we needed in the kitchen. Be careful of bottom step going upstairs blends with wood floor and difficult to see. Our whole gang enjoyed your house and there were plenty of games for the rainy days!!!

Thank you for sharing

Great family vacation

  • 4 of 5

Great house for all 12 family members. Plenty of room. Great kitchen to cook in. Had issues with 2 of tubs not draining. We could not get cell service or internet, so that was a problem. But all in all it was a very nice house.

Owner's Response: Glad to hear you all had a great vacation! Thanks for your feedback! Note to future travelers: *The tubs have been cleared. *Cell service can by spotty, depending on the carrier. Txts typically go through with all carriers, but calls often do not, unless you stand at the top of the driveway :); however, we do provide a landline number that you're welcome to give out for incoming and outgoing calls. *Wifi is usually pretty consistent - if it isn't working at all, feel free to call us for instructions on how to reset the modem.
