Escape into the Ozarks: On the Rocks Cottage

Eagle Rock, Missouri

Looking for a perfect Table Rock lakeside destination? Well, you’re in luck at the recently updated and completely refurnished “On the Rocks” Cottage. It is a hip and comfy cottage that sits perfectly on the rocks of Table Rock Lake. Whether you’re looking for a restful retreat into the woods or a fun filled family lake vacation, On The Rocks has you covered.

You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a whole new world when you enter our family cottage that comfortably sleeps up to 16. As they say, “location is key”…. and that’s exactly what “On The Rocks” has to offer.

We’re located lakefront in Eagle Rock, in southwest Missouri. Our location is close to a variety of different entertainment options. We’re 10 minutes from trout fishing and hiking at Roaring River State Park, in the Mark Twain National Forest. It is only 15 minutes to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, a Victorian mountain village with art, music, fine dining, shopping, night spots, distinctive attractions and worlds of outdoor activities.

Table Rock Lake is almost 70 miles long, and we like to think we are located on the 'quiet side'. Our corner of the world is ideal for wakeboarding and water sports, with plenty of secluded coves for fishing. We are directly across from the Eagle Rock Marina, where overnight slips and boat rentals are available. Feel like taking a boat ride to dinner? The floating restaurant at Big M Marina, about 15 minutes away, is the perfect destination for an evening excursion. You can take off South and West on the lake to visit the Holiday Island Marina and the historic Beaver town suspension bridge. Branson is a 45 minute drive with so many things to do that we can’t even start to list all of them. Also worth mention is the Bentonville/Rogers/Fayetteville metro area, only an hour away. You can check out the new Crystal Bridges Museum of Modern Art, now open in Bentonville, AR. People are traveling from all over the world to not only see the museum but the grounds as well.

Private drive, carport, bunkhouse, main cottage. We have many outdoor spaces....2 lakeside decks....2 lakeside patios...a covered bar and a fire pit.

Main floor: Spacious open floor plan with overlooking loft

Bunkhouse: Four bunks, 1 futon, bathroom/shower, mini kitchen

Looking ahead: Future projects at the cottage include a fish cleaning station and master bath updates.

About Chalea Jacobs

On The Rocks Cottage is family owned and maintained. Our roots are in South Central Kansas. We landed here 15 years ago, and still can't believe that we're lucky enough to call this area of Table Rock Lake our 'home'. When we arrived in Eagle Rock, we soon realized that everything we could ever want was right at our doorstep.

Chalea Jacobs purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Chalea Jacobs chose Eagle Rock

Years back when we relocated to the Ozarks, we had no idea that we would be moving in next door to the best neighbors anyone could ever ask for. Our special relationship and respect for our neighbors prompted our purchase of their property when it was time for them to move on. The renovation and future of On The Rocks Cottage is dedicated to those wonderful neighbors, who changed our lives and taught us how 'truly good' people can be. We will forever hold them in our hearts and miss them dearly.

What makes this cottage unique

On The Rocks Cottage is an interesting mixture of old and new. The original house was 'business' only, with a kitchen, den, bedrooms and baths. A few years back, an incredible addition was built to tie it all together. The great room addition to the home has vaulted ceilings and a spiral staircase up to a loft (perfect for the kids). A center cooking island ties the kitchen, great room, and dining room together ... perfect for entertaining. We modified the existing den area and turned it into a master bedroom.

The detached bunkhouse, one of our favorite features, is a true throwback to years past. During renovation, we couldn't help but think about the kids who would be bunking there... and the 'lake' memories they'll make and enjoy for a lifetime.

If you're flipping a coin to see which room you'll get, check out the view from the back bedroom. A picture window overlooks the lake and the view is spectacular.

When coming to the lake, most likely your plan is to take advantage of the great outdoors. We have you covered. Between the 2 patio areas, 2 decks, the covered bar and the firepit, there is plenty of room to spread out.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"We were delighted the moment we walked into your sanctuary- the beauty, the peace, the comforts. There were 33 of us ranging from ages of 82-18, women in retreat to bond, and share of God's goodness.

The decor, the wonderful cookies, everything was so special. May your business grow - may it be a haven of peace for many families.

Thank you"

More than we expected

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay. 10 of us and we never felt crowded. The pictures on the app. don't do justice to the space.

My 20 year old daughter wrote a very complimentary note in the guest book. We celebrated her birthday at the cottage. It was very moving to hear her read aloud her feelings about our stay.

Just book the space. You won't be disappointed. It seems any season would be perfect here.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful, relaxing stay at On the Rocks Cottage. It was the perfect balance of serene seclusion, and just minutes away from all the area's amenities. Just 20 minutes from Eureka Springs for dining and shopping - only 10 minutes from the full grocery in Holiday Island. The owners were quick to respond to the few questions we had about the area and the cottage had everything we needed to feel at home during our stay.

Beautiful location, wonderful hospitality, spacious accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We used the space for 9 adults in a weekend retreat. It was the perfect location for our adult summer camp experience! The huge deck overlooking the lake at sunset was spectacular. We all slept comfortably and also weathered a thunderstorm inside. Otherwise, we spent most our time outside swimming in the beautiful cove accessible by the path from the property, admiring the water from the bluffs, or hiking the trails at the nearby state park.

There are dishes and seats for everyone at mealtimes (inside or outside), towels enough for after showers and lake time, big open spaces for relaxing, modern appliances, ample parking, a well-stocked kitchen, and comfortable furniture. The open area with the fire ring was a late night s'more toasting heaven on earth!

The home is beautifully decorated, and Chalea was a prefect host to us. She was available by phone and thoughtfully prepared for us with a welcome basket of snacks and a bouquet of fresh flowers from the home's butterfly garden.

We would love to visit again and recommend the property for your girls' weekend, family vacation, get-away with friends, etc. (Basically, find a reason to come stay and enjoy the lake from this great location!)

Wonderful place for family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cottage on the Rocks. The cottage had everything we could possibly need for our stay and very clean! We had 13 in our group (3 families) and the adults and children could spread out and enjoy their own space, with so many places to hang out. The bunk house was used by our single adults, which gave them some time away from the sometimes crazy of small kids in the house. We drove over to Eagle Rock Recreation Area which is 5 minutes away, and used the beach with picnic tables and boat ramp every day, for a small fee of $5 per day. (Very nice for families with all ages.) Chalea was quick to respond to a small plumbing issue and came to our aid immediately. Thanks, for a great stay!

Beautiful, relaxing, and next to nature!

  • 5 of 5

We had Avery relaxing vacation at On the Rocks Cottage! The owners had thought of everything to make us feel welcome and to feel right at home. Coffee on the deck/s in the morning with a view of the lake was my favorite part. Our grandkids enjoyed their own space in the bunkhouse, as well as the adults had plenty of space to spread out in the main cabin. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy in the area....something for everyone! Highly recommended for anyone who just wants to get away for a relaxing, laid back, no pressure kind of vacation!
